    Biscuits and gravy

Went to Kentucky with my husband and in-laws for whiskey tours and Keeneland was the first stop he hit for breakfast. It's very unique, as there is a cafeteria on a horse track. Don't be fooled by the quick serve aesthetic. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, especially being able to watch race horses train, but even better- the food was amazing. This was the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had and a great welcome to my stay in Kentucky!

This is the Track Kitchen if you're a race fan this is where you may run into your favorite trainer. This is breakfast for the the workers right off the track The groomers, trainers, ect.. the barns are right out the doors. It's open to the public and the breakfast is cheap and good. It's kind of cafeteria style. Everyone was super friendly and the biscuits and gravy very good. Pancakes looked amazing. It was really cool, nothing fancy, but a must. Highly recommend just to say you ate here for one, for two it's good food.

Great spot for breakfast in Lexington. Reminds me of a school cafeteria but the food is great! Check online for their seasonal hours. Go to the front of the cafeteria style buffet line and order. You will get a ticket and pay at the cash register. There is a breakfast special with all the fixings. Or you can order a specialty item and they will make it in the back for you/yell your number when ready. Really enjoyed the French toast & the bacon, egg, & cheese burrito. Meals are roughly $5-$7 with so much food!

What's not to love especially when your friends horse wins! Living in KY some of the best entertainment is horse racing. Hung out in the bluegrass room. Great service from Nate. Incredible view and delicious drinks!

Went to the Track Kitchen on Saturday morning while the heavens had opened up and it was raining cats n dogs. It was just the right place to be due to Keeneland's lush greenery. It's a basic cafeteria style outfit... don't expect too much. Ample space to sit.. very old furniture but stable enough to balance. Set menu. We ordered the following: - Egg n cheese sandwich on white: 3/5 - Pancakes (half stack = 2): 2.5/5 (they were too thick n dense which my friends seemed to enjoy but I did not, though I did like the crispy top) - Gravy n biscuits: 2.5/5 (pretty basic) - Bacon: 2/5 (my friend said it wasn't crispy enough) - Coffee: 1/5 - Cappuccino: 0.5/5 So the food was so-so... not bad.. it was "hearty" and "filling", which is what you'd expect from that sort of an establishment. But i must say it was economical! All of the above came under $15!! Would I go there again? Probably not. Would I take out-of-town folks there for an "experience"? Probably.

While vacationing in Frankfort, my brother suggested we head over to Keeneland Track Kitchen. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm always game for new things so I was surprised to find an incredibly beautiful track and literally a track kitchen where the jockeys eat. I got the breakfast special for $6.50 that consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, a delicious biscuit and gravy, fried potatoes and coffee. It was huge. And, $6.50!! We were amazed at all of the trailers and horses, but soon found out we had come at a very busy time: Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale, a prestigious auction of highly prized broodmares, prospects and royally-bred weanlings. Fancy company. What a cool experience and fantastic breakfast on the cheap.

What an amazing little hidden spot. I'm hesitant to post because more people will find it lol. There was no waiting just a small cafe style place where stable workers head to breakfast or lunch. We had breakfast there the first time and I just had to make another day to breakfast there. Food is amazing! Everything taste fresh and tasty. And the price?!?! You just can't beat it!!! When in Kentucky; GO!!

We visited the Keeneland Track Kitchen for breakfast this morning. We had the breakfast special for $6.50 which was a excellent price for the large portion of food that was served. The breakfast included eggs, three slices of bacon, biscuit with gravy and a large portion of fried potatoes. This was a excellent choice for breakfast that was delicious.

If you're lucky enough to catch a day when fried chicken is the lunch special, get it. Any two pieces you want with two sides and a roll. I had hoped for mashed potatoes, but they were roasted, and the green beans had almonds. I took the order to go. For me, it's two meals. If you sign up on the Track Kitchen FB page, you can keep up with the daily specials. 104

It's a track kitchen so not intended to be haute cuisine, but according to one of the workout jockeys that we met this is the 2nd Best Track Kitchen in the country! Cafeteria style ordering and the typical breakfast foods were good. Scrambled eggs appeared to be from a mix so I'll order fried eggs next time and accept the wait in line that will follow. The staff were all pleasant and friendly. If you're a Thoroughbred Racing fan it is a fun way to mingle with jockeys, owners, stable hands, and locals before or after watching the horses' morning workouts.

    Breakfast special with country ham

It appears like any cafeteria, however the food quality is right up there with the nicest private dining rooms of keeneland during racing season, because it's the same chef and staff. That being said, the prices are below what you would pay at waffle house. We ordered a breakfast special with traditional country ham, 2 eggs over easy, biscuits and gravy, and fried potatoes for $10. A massive breakfast burrito with eggs cheese peppers and onions with bacon or sausage which would cost $13-$15 at any other restaurant in town costs $4.50 at the Track Kitchen. They have floor to ceiling windows so you can see some trees on one side or the barns on the other side. It's truly a hidden gem.

This is a very casual place to eat but food is good and it's fascinating to eat here as owners and lots of horse people eat here.

expected so much better. I looked at the food, decided not to order, got a cup of mediocre weak coffee, overpriced at that, and left.

They have a standard menu with a good bit of variety and a lot of great desserts. But, they also have daily specials. For my lunch visits, there are usually 5-8 options and when they're gone, that's it. For dinner... I swear there were 25 options handwritten on the damn chalkboard. It was insane. What do I get!? I got the frog legs. My wife got the standard menu cheeseburger. Both as delicious as the fish platter, the open faced roast beef, and every other thing I've gotten here. Home Cooking my friend, and I mean food you want to eat. This ain't no health club, this ain't no disco, this ain't no foolin' around. It isn't fancy, it isn't pretty, it's old. And, I'd go there 3 nights a week if it was within a 10-minute drive.

I tasted the whites, never heard of them, awful so you can't go wrong w/ a High Noon. Small bar, three other patrons & bartender was busy talking that I didn't get a drink until I was seated to eat. He came over, like it was his first time seeing me & said oh someone forgot about you over here. Yes, you did. No worry. Started w/ the Charcuterie Board 3/5 the marinated olives (which my server had no clue they were marinated when I inquired more) were the best thing! I could buy a jar of them. The meats were ok, brie was good, the cheddar was stale like it sat out for two days. I ordered the Short Ribs which came w/ a Blue Cheese Risotto. Horrible. I know short ribs are fatty, but only got one piece of meat off of them & the risotto tasted like some kind of cleaning solution & even smelled like it. 5/5 for the Collard Greens. I asked the server to replace the risotto for Collards & he said they can't because the chef thinks it takes away from the dish, unless you have an allergy. I dont eat carbs, but said ok & gave it a taste. I was starving so gave them another try by ordering the Smores Dessert. 5/5 Very good. But I did not leave satisfied w/ the service or food at all. My server was clueless to everything. It's such a gorgeous establishment w/ so much potential! I was not planning on such an awful experience & hope they get it together. I'd like to come back & not feel like Im starving after I leave a farm-to-table establishment. Try it for yourself, but the greens were the best w/ hot sauce. I almost left after the bar experience & the charcuterie board, but stayed to give them a shot. Wasn't worth it.
