    Vegas roll

The service was quick and friendly! We walked right in, and got sat down right away. The waitress was friendly enough to explain a few things and off we went to order! The food came out, and we loved it. Felt like a family restaurant and such BIG portions too.

We were on the hunt for some good ol sushi for a late late late lunch, this place popped up, and so we decided to try it out. We walked in and we were the only ones there. It was 3pm, Thursday, and it was very quiet. As soon as we entered, the friendly waitress told us to pick a table and she let us know that she would be right on over. The waitress took our drink orders and brought them out right away. We looked over the menu and there are other dishes as well besides sushi. We decided on getting one Vegas roll, a California roll, an order of gyozas, and a miso soup. The gyozas were delicious and we could definitely taste that they were freshly made. We did see an employee sitting down and making them by hand. The miso soup was pretty good and so was the California roll. The Vegas roll is huge (enough to share) and and it comes in a big plate. The Vegas roll didn't cut it for me since all I could taste was the overpowering flavor of the cucumber. The Vegas roll is a no for me here. Service was great!

    Bento Combo

The bento box combo was delicious. Everything was fresh and great quality. Customer service was great. It was pretty empty during lunch time but I saw a few to go orders. I would definitely recommend. Price is decent a

Delicious fried sushi and tuna nigiri. We also got some crab rangoons but only had one left in this picture lol

Delicious and BIG sushi pieces! The place was so chill and the ambiance was relaxed. They served us super fast too! 5 stars, if you haven't eaten here yet you're missing

This is a Tuna Roll(left), and a Tuna Nigiri. Notice the color difference?

I'm a huge sushi fanatic and I have never seen tuna so dark. I purchased one nigiri tuna and one special tuna roll, and the colors were completely different. I have been here before and purchased the same tuna roll, and I was satisfied at that point. This makes me second guess this place since there is a sushi virus going around lately. After I mentioned it to the waitress, the sushi chef denied she didnt use the same tuna as my nigiri. She didn't even offer to replace my roll with a fresher tuna. I don't think I'm wrong for giving it two stars. I would have given it one but since my first experience wasn't bad I didn't want to base this review on just my experience this time. For this dark tuna roll and Nigiri I paid $16.00. It was a waste of money to me since I didnt eat it. I think its best to stick to their Teriyaki, since thats what they're mostly famous for. Maybe I was just unlucky this time, but this gave me a realization that I shouldn't eat sushi in El Paso.

    Caterpillar Roll
    Tanya Y.

Somedays (okay, once a week) I have a craving for seafood, veggies and rice. It's convenient that some genius decided to wrap these all up in seaweed and top them with other things I love like Siracha. Everything good about life is wrapped up in bite-sized pieces of sushi and anyone who says different is a communist. And thus my constant hunt for the 5 star sushi joint in EP. 3 stars, yes, but at the moment Kee's is my go to. This location is kind of hole-in-the-wall, but I'm not mad at it. It may even be a bit dated. There's maybe ten tables and there's a few seats at the sushi bar itself (although I've never actually seen anyone sit there). Above the tables there's paper lanterns. The soda fountain proudly sits on the counter to the right, but you'll never touch it...you know cause the waitresses are great! And the place is small. From my quick visual that I'm trying to give, I think you can understand why I couldn't rate Kee's above a 3. But I come for the rolls. And the Miso Soup. All time favorite roll from KT is the Caterpillar Roll! And yes it does have a "filler ingredient" avocado, but anyone who acts like the addition of avocado or cream cheese to sushi is a bad thing is out if line. You want straight fish with rice? Order Nigiri! Enough of that, but the eel really is killer at KT and it doesn't hurt that it fulfills my strange addiction to eel sauce. If you like to stick with the more simple rolls, I'm a HUUUUUUUUUUGE fan of the Spicy Tuna!!! And the panko fried rolls...very different then what typically shows up on my table when I order a fried roll, but I like 'em. I may even go as far to say I love 'em! They're completely covered in panko which makes them perfect for dipping in sauces without fear of them falling apart. Most of the rolls are big enough, yet still bite-sized, but the pankos are two bites fer sure. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'll let you know when I figure it out. They do plate the rolls nicely, but there usually on plastic plates.........so ya. If you're lucky enough to be in KT when the owner is there, make sure you talk her up (although she'll probably start the convo because she really is that involved with her business). She's the sweetest lady and will recommend the best dishes (so whatever she's cooking). The rest of the staff is great as well. All smiles and helpful, no complaints there. I love Kee's and I'll always be a regular! It's definitely a neighborhood fave, I just want more from it. But I'll never stop going!

My husband is a fan of hibachi style cuisine so we looked up a spot near our home and Koze was the first to pop up! They also had good reviews so we were all for it. When we first arrived the hostess asked if we wanted to be seated at the grill (for show) or the dining room. Since my husband does like watching the cook do his thing, we opted to wait the 15-20 minutes for a grill to become available. Next time we will definitely make note to call ahead and make a reservation though! Once we were seated we looked over the menu to see our options. I will say that the service at Koze was a bit lacking. Our waitress took quite a while to come around for our drink order, main course and then at the end of the evening for us to pay our bill. I'm not sure if she was serving a lot of other tables for the night but that was just our experience. It would have been nice if she came around more so we weren't looking for her. My husbands parents got the shrimp and scallop meal to split, my husband ordered the chicken and scallops. I, however, decided to try their sushi - so I got the California roll and the BBQ salmon roll. Once the chef came around to start cooking (which took quite a while) he started the show. I will also note that there was a bit of a language barrier between us and the chef. He tried asking us questions, such as if we were celebrating a birthday, but it was very hard for us to understand what he was saying. We could also tell he was a bit new at the job because certain "tricks" he'd mess up on or had to try a couple times before he got it right. For the food, I will say that I did enjoy my sushi. Both rolls were delicious! My husband ate mostly the protein on his plate. They give a huge portion of fried rice for the main courses, it's definitely enough for two people. I believe his parents said they thought the meal was good as well. I think it came down to the service we received which kind of left a bad impression. The food was good it was just the lack of service that left me wanting more. I know there are other hibachi restaurants in El Paso. I will probably try those with my husband. I wouldn't mind coming back to Koze, I understand maybe they were just having a bad day. But I would also try other places.

We visited on a weeknight for dinner and were seated right away. The restaurant was fairly busy for it being a weeknight but the service was still great! But I liked it. My husband and I each got our own order of crab Rangoon. Let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint! I'd honestly get two orders just for myself, it was so delicious. For my main dish I got the California roll. I know, I'm very basic. But honestly it is my favorite! I think we may have come on an off day for them because the rice used for the sushi rolls was a bit dry. But it wasn't unbearable. They also give free miso soup and pickled cucumbers. Very tasty! I'd definitely come back for their crab Rangoon alone! Service was great too, I'll be back again.

I can't believe this place is still in business. The service is horrible and the food isn't that…read morefar off from the service that they provide either. First off there wasn't even a warm welcome. One of the workers just said a soft hello and just stood there. Didn't even direct us where to go or let us know that we could sit anywhere. Then came up to us to hand us the menu to quickly tune around and walk away. Another person came up and asked us what we would like to drink... after 10 mins they finally brought us some water. Like what were they doing back there? Chipping away ice to put in the cups or washing the dust off the cups since it looks like no one comes here at all. Or ever to put at that!! After the water was given, we placed our order. We ordered the overly priced spicy tuna roll and the ramen with just vegetables. Spicy Tuna Roll: like seriously? You're going to serve some nasty roll on plate and call it awesome? The tuna had a sour taste to it and it was discolored like as if someone had taken a syringe tried to suck out the color of that poor tuna. The rice wrapped around it had a pinkish tint to it thinking that it wasn't freshly made. Like it was just sitting in the rice cooker for a couple of days before they used it for us since... again! No one goes there. This was not worth the $8 that they had it priced on the menu. Even places who have better sushi have their basic rolls for $4-5. Ramen with Vegetables: this was a sad sad desperate attempt to make something and call it restaurant quality ramen. This definitely tastes like the $.50 instant ramen that you get from Wal-Mart with a hard boiled egg and a couple pieces or huge nori in it. The "With vegetables" part was just some slices of scallions and a few disappoint pieces of cabbages floating around. If I knew this is what it was going to taste like, I would've just gone to Wal-Mart. This cost $5 when it probably only cost $2 to make. Sad attempt.. Service: other than the fact there was an obnoxiously long wait time with no friendliness at all, the fact that there are no soy sauce bottles on the table with the dipping dish is so strange. Do you not dip your sushi in soy sauce? Or do you just pour it all over the sushi to hide the horrendous taste? Venue: No one else was there. We were the only ones there. The music wasn't that great and the TV were so distracting when trying to eat? Are you trying convey a sushi restaurant or a sports bar? Also, get new chopsticks. Why are you trying to embellish and sell off Pho King when you already have a name for yourself? Don't cut corners and try to save money by having products that represent other places. Overall: sucked. Didn't even finish the meal since I had the fear of severe food poisoning and just left. Never going back there ever again. If you think that this place is a good bang for your buck, great! Have fun spending more money on your medical bills.
