Artificial colorant in food! While the chicken flautas themselves are very good, the quacamole sauce tastes incredibly bland. In fact, I'm not sure how much of it comes from real avocados, it sure didn't taste real. It's texture is as if a mixtures of oils and other things are added to create a guacamole-like sauce. But its is definitely not real food. I even found splotches of un-mixed artificial green coloring in it. It made me question their salsas as well so I threw the guacamole-like sauce and salsas away. I want to like this place but I like to eat REAL food, not an artificial concoction of unknown substances. I guess I should have expected as much, given just how fast the orders were "made". Pre-made foodstuffs is not really my thing. To restaurant owners: please consider using real, quality avocados in your sauces. It is pretty disturbing to find artificial coloring added to it. My last review of this place was 3 years ago but I cannot stress enough how well you're taken care of here. I just came in to order food to go and the owner was so sweet, even offered a free drink for me to have while I wait. I felt so compelled to write another review and make sure this place gets the publicity it deserves. Nothing short of great things is all I have to say about it. This is a locally owned business run by a family who clearly takes pride in their work. You'll catch the father of the family at the register taking orders with such kindness that it feels like he's your uncle or something. Always very kind and that really goes a long way. I've also seen the other members of the family helping in the kitchen or running the drive thru. The restaurant is very small but you'll see it packed with people because the food is SO GOOD. It all tastes homemade like they poured their whole heart with lots of love into it. My family loves coming here to order their flautas, tacos and burritos. Anything here is bound to taste good! We needed to have some catering done for around 50 people. Wasn't sure how they would do but they didn't disappoint. There was enough for everyone and it tasted great. We ordered 200 flautas and they gave us plenty of salad and sauces for everyone to enjoy. Also asked for rice & beans and 2 trays of each were plenty. Rolled Tacos are on point! 5 tortillas with the fixings on the side so you can load up as much or as little as you'd like. The salsa is and I am here for it! Rice and beans are perfectly cooked, and the hard shell tacos left us wanting more. What's in a name? Just get the flautas!! I've had flautas at four different places now but this spot is number one. Even picky eaters in my family devoured the flautas. The burritos are bomb as well. Be warned, their sauces can be real fiery. I also got their nachos which was the only thing on their menu that could use a little improvement. Meaty filled not greasy flautas are seriously better than L and J. And L and J's is my favorite. Sometimes when food is at a great value you worry that it's greasy or the place is dirty. Neither is true! Clean and quality all the way. Don't get me wrong flautas (small rolled stuff with meat corn tortillas) are fried but these are not dripping in grease. They are crunchy, meaty, and toppings we tried were perfect! Traditional was guacamole style and mole was a chocolate, chilie base were scrumptious. This is an order at counter. Due to Yelp reviews I had to give this a try. Sadly it didn't quite live up to the hype. The rolled tacos were pretty good but the sauces left me cold. The queso was like cheez whiz while the Chile beans lacked flavor. The salsa was good and the guacamole was very spicy. I am interested in going back to try the tortas and burritos . I will surely return if for no other reason than the nearness to my house. I would like to see a greater variety of burritos. read more

Straightforward, no-nonsense, flavorful flautas. I have been looking for a restaurant in the same price range as Taco Cabana that could offer me something different but better in the same category, and this is it. The traditional chicken flautas were everything I had hoped for: juicy but not soggy and savory but not salty. The steak quesadilla was stuffed with meat and cheese that stretched upwards as I pulled pieces apart. Both of these items paired perfectly with the red salsa--tangy with just the right amount of spice! All of the sauces accompanying the entrees exceeded my expectations and sealed my 5-star rating of the restaurant. The guacamole sauce was smooth and creamy but did not taste over-processed. When drizzled on top of the chicken flautas along with sour cream and the salsa, it completed a rich combination that satisfied every possible palate craving. The restaurant was clean and simple, and the service was excellent. It is an ideal semi-fast food restaurant to grab a quick bite, and I plan on returning often. I have tried flautas from several restaurants in the area and almost all of them have resembled reheated frozen flautas you can buy in a box by the dozen from Walmart. This is my first time to visit Ke Flauta on Sunbowl Dr.; I understand that they also have another location on Doniphan. Unfortunately I was not able to check out the actual restaurant interior because of the the city directive as a result of the coronavirus pandemic....so it was their curbside service. The service over the phone was informative and helpful. I ordered 1 plate each of flautas with guacamole sauce and flautas in mole sauce. For the sides on both plates I ordered the beans and rice, and chicken flautas for both plates. The flautas we received were some what disappointing. They were not as meaty as we had hoped, although tender. The chicken meat itself lacked some flavoring where at times when eating the flautas we tasted mostly the tortilla even though you could see the meat in the flauta. Getting the order Togo they have figured out to give you whatever sauce separately that way you do not end up with soggy flautas by the time you get the food home. The guacamole sauce has a bland taste, is not really that spicy, and is a little runny. The mole sauce was good. It has a taste of the chocolate and some sweetness with just enough spiciness and a little bit of heat. It is a good blend. And it taste good as well. The beans were a little disappointing I would label them more like almost bean pudding. There's nothing that stands out in the flavor of the beans. The rice was a little too moist and lumpy. And definitely lacked any standout flavor. The bio on the restaurant says that they have been around for about 10 years on the Donathan location. I would like to see them continue. But in my opinion they need to make a few changes and modifications to make it a real standout place. Nevertheless probably will go back to visit this place again as a back up to try some of the other plates and dishes that they have. read more

I never thought that I could be addicted to something and crave a certain food until I ate here. I literally crave this EVERY week. I have to restrain myself from coming here. They have amazing flautas here! The best deal and time to go is during lunch time between 12-2 because they have a combo of flautas with your choice of sauce and 2 sides of either rice, beans, or salad and a canned drink for $5.95!! That's a steal! I love the Moladas sauce, I can't get enough of it. The mini salsa bar is also really good. They have this green sauce that is super delicious! This cute place is a bit small so it can be a bit packed during lunch time but they also have a drive through which is very convenient. I have also tried the al pastor quesadilla and it was also very delicious. I hope to try more items from there menu! I love coming here for lunch and have always had great service. read more
