This was a nice location. The staff was great and friendly. I liked the decorations inside the store. It was pretty. This location had a nice outdoor sitting area which I liked best. I tried the Pumpkin Spice Cold latte. This was visually a beautiful drink with the different layers of colors. It was not a sweet drink and yes I stirred it up before drinking it. I barely tasted pumpkin spice inside. It did looked beautiful. The desserts all looked so yummy. I got a loaf of something with different types of nuts inside. It was sweet. This location is extremely clean and smells wonderful once you walk in. The beachy decor is beautiful and stands out. Service was great, quick and packaged perfectly. What significantly detracts from the experience is the extremely strong fragrance diffuser inside the restaurant. The scent is so intense that I can taste it when I walk in, and it lingers while eating. From a sensory science standpoint, aroma is inseparable from flavor. Airborne fragrance compounds compete with and alter the perception of food. More importantly, aerosolized scent particles don't just stay in the air -- they settle on surfaces and can bind to fats and oils in food. In a space centered on clean eating, this feels misaligned. The cuisine deserves to be the dominant sensory experience. I would happily raise my rating if the artificial scenting were reduced or removed. read more

I had the chance to eat in at Pura Vida Boca today, and while the food is still very good, the overall dine-in experience was somewhat chaotic. When we walked in, it was extremely busy and there was no clear guidance on what to do. It wasn't obvious if we were supposed to wait to be seated, grab a table, look for menus, order on the app, or go straight to the counter. With no staff directing us, I ended up just ordering on the app for pickup and brought the food to our table myself. We were able to find a small table for two, but it was positioned very close to others, making it feel crowded. There is outdoor seating, but it was too hot to sit outside comfortably, so we opted to stay indoors. Despite the tight layout, the space is pretty and well-decorated. My daughter ordered the kids' chicken and rice bowl, which was tasty but very plain and a very small portion--better suited for a younger child. She ended up ordering an avocado toast as well. We shared a strawberry banana smoothie, which was fine, and the kids' meal came with a fresh lemonade, which was a nice touch. I had a matcha iced tea, which was very good, and the Eggs Best sandwich again, which I also enjoyed. One thing to note is that it's quite expensive. We spent \$72 for lunch, which feels high, especially considering we only ordered one full adult meal, a kids' meal, an extra toast, and two drinks. The adult portions are generous, but the kids' portions are definitely on the smaller side. This visit was on a Thursday around 2p.m., and it was still packed, so I imagine weekends are even more crowded. Overall, the food is solid and fresh, but for me, the takeout experience might be the better route. Dining in felt rushed and overwhelming, and for the price, I'd prefer a more relaxed setting. We almost walked out but ended up securing a table. I just wish the staff would have directed us on what to do. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this situation deserves one. I've had repeated bad experiences with takeout at both the Boca and Delray locations, especially Boca. Wait times are excessive--on my last visit, I ended up canceling my order and leaving. But beyond that, there's a clear lack of communication and customer service. No one acknowledges you, gives wait times, or offers help. Orders are piled up, and customers are left to figure things out on their own. I'm not expecting a response--I assume it will be the usual generic reply. This is simply feedback: the experience is frustrating and poorly managed. I've chosen not to return, and I've seen other customers dealing with the same issue--searching for their orders with no assistance. There's very little empathy or attention to customer service. This place has gone completely downhill. When they first started in Miami, the food quality, portions, freshness, and overall experience were honestly great. You could tell they cared. Now it feels like the only thing they care about is opening more and more locations while completely neglecting quality control, consistency, staff training, and customer experience. This Boca location was absolutely terrible. The walnut cake slice used to be huge, easily enough for two or even three people to share. Now they give you a tiny piece that is maybe one third of the size it used to be. The tuna salad was another joke. Barely any quinoa, small portions overall, and if you actually want enough protein or food to feel satisfied, they push you into ordering "double tuna," which costs almost another $10 extra. Everything feels designed to nickel and dime customers. The mozzarella omelette side used to be one of our favorites. This time it was so salty it was almost inedible. The falafels arrived cold, dry, and tasted like they had been sitting around for hours. They even charge $1.25 for a tiny side of what they call jalapeños, except they are not even jalapeños, just bland green peppers. And this is not just a one time issue. We recently had a very disappointing experience at one of their Miami locations too, but decided to give them another chance. Clearly that was a mistake. For two tuna salads with extra tuna, two side orders of falafel, two side orders of eggs, and a walnut cake/bread, the bill came out to around $130. Completely absurd for the quality and portions we received. The sad part is this place used to actually be good. Now it feels like a business that expanded too fast, cut portions, lowered quality, raised prices, and lost the entire reason people originally liked it. There are far too many good restaurants in South Florida to waste your money here anymore. read more

I was asked to pick up a smoothie from here this morning, and I had absolutely no idea this restaurant even existed. Pura Vida is part of a chain out of Miami. It's fairly new, super clean, absolutely beautiful inside and gives that ladies lunching after yoga, expensive Miami vibe. I ordered on the app and it was easy once I set up an account. Told me the order would be ready in 10 minutes and they were just placing it on the shelf as I walked in. Vitamin Sea smoothie - strawberry, blueberry,pineapple and orange. It was quite good. Chocolate PB smoothie was made with Peanut Butter, Banana, Almond Milk, Honey and Chocolate Whey protein powder. Feedback on this one was good also. I'll have to come back and try some of the food. What a great little spot to have an early morning latte, or even Sunday morning breakfast/brunch. Even from the outside, You can tell this isn't your typical coffee spot. The place looks curated and the interior is just as impressive; the kind of place you'd elect to eat if you cared about what happens next. Upon entrance you're greeted by not only the staff and smooth Bossa Nova/Portuguese jazz fills the air. With exceptional natural light and well placed indoor lighting, the seating area feels welcoming no matter where you choose to sit. Under a vines, indoor trellis there's also a large table area to the left that seems like it could sit 8-10 ppl (depending on lvl of comfort) for larger parties, or plenty, comfortable bench seating adjacent to other tables or single 1-on-1 for a closer, getting-to-know-you/business meeting proximity. Valentina not only walked me through the menu but also brought out the order with the requested extras. It helped she was bilingual as it seemed a lot of the staff were, and that added to the overall experience. The drink and food are delicious. The croissant was flaky and buttery and the oat milk latte was served hot. Their menu is varied and its offerings extend a sort of standing invitation to come back soon. Note: When you place the order at the register, take a quaint, numbered block with you so the staff can bring your order out to you. My wife loves this place, so I decided to check it out. I stopped by with my kids and got the mango salmon bowl and the kids got a tuna tartare appetizer each. Upon arrival I did not realize that their air conditioning was not working. There was zero signage indicating that and nobody on the staff mentioned it. I don't know, customers may want a/c when it's 90 degrees out or a heads up that it's inoperable. Anyway, We placed our order and then sat down, waiting for the food. At that point, it hit me that it was very hot and humid inside. I then had second thoughts about eating in the uncomfortable air and decided to cancel my order. It was literally a minute or two after paying. However, they refused to cancel saying that the order was already started, which, given the amount of time that passed, I absolutely didn't believe. As for the food, the mango salmon bowl was pretty good and chock full of good ingredients however at nearly 30 bucks was not really a good value. My kids also loved the tuna tartar but the portions were tiny and likewise not a very good value. I can definitely see why my wife likes this place and while the food was good, the value is really poor. Overall two stars, would not go back. read more

The four stars are for the food -- which was wonderful. The atmosphere, however, was strange. The music was blasting/blaring and there was no way to carry on a conversation. We sat inside and everyone was yelling over the music and each other -- so it certainly wasn't a relaxing setting. How the gals working on their computers were able to actually work is beyond me. So, next time, if the weather permits, we'd sit outside. We came early for lunch and the leftovers from breakfast and brunch were still occupying many of the tables --- as were those with computers camped out with one empty cup of coffee. And a large group of gals just chatting took up one very long table and were very vocally active. We snagged a parking spot right outside the restaurant only because someone was just leaving. You order at the counter, and they give you a numbered wooden block to place on your table for delivery. We were smart enough to grab some menus and snag a table first. After looking through the menu, we knew what to order. My husband held the table while I went to the counter and got in line to order. When I went to order, I was told he couldn't take my order as there weren't any open tables. I told him we already had a table!! Yeah! We both ordered open faced items from their all day breakfast section of the menu. He got the Avocado Smash toast with added salmon and I got their New Yorker. I also ordered some peach black iced tea -- which was delicious. I added my own splenda as all they had was brown sugar and stevia. We decided to share each order by swapping one half. Both items were very good. The New Yorker had a base of cream cheese with scallions (I didn't taste them) topped with smoked salmon and tomato and sprouts. There was supposed to be a lemon oil drizzle, but there wasn't. And I left off the pickled red onions that usually come on it. The Avocado Smash Toast was also on toasted sourdough bread with avocado, cucumber slices, radish slices and cilantro. Both toasts had a generous amount of salmon on each. We each liked our own choices best. I'd order the New Yorker again, definitely. Prices are not inexpensive, but smoked salmon is not cheap and for the portion size we felt it was worth it. There are a lot of other items on the menu including salads, bowls, wraps and sandwiches, as well as acai bowls. They also have a variety of drinks including a ton of coffees and teas plus smoothies. We kind of stumbled upon the cafe during a quick trip to Miami but what a pleasant surprise. The aesthetic inside is everything, it was so bright and beautiful! Everything on the menu sounded delicious which made it hard to decide. I ended up trying and mint chocolate smoothie and an ahi tuna bowl. The smoothie was amazing, you can tell it was made with fresh ingredients and no added sugar. It was the perfect amount of natural sweetness and I loved the flavor combination.
