One told me I had to change the computer chipset, the other couldn't figure out our issue and turned off my parent's hot water. This was my second time using Kel-Aire. The first time was a few months ago when our heater was acting up. Not only did they fox the issue, the tech showed me what he did and explained it all to me. Here is my story: HVAC goes out; as the cold season approaches... I am heading out of town and its an emergency. I call another company NOT KEL-AIRE- YET!!! via the Yelp app and a person shows up and charges me $75 to do an inspection and tells me its a bad blower motor. Days pass. They cannot find the blower motor. They say the motor is "about $1,000". They want to charge me a $400 programming fee. Then a labor fee... They come back with a quote of some RIDICULOUS PRICE.... all said and done to replace the blower motor on a 8 year old Maytag high efficiency furnace. The person who came out; didn't seem like they were serious about what they were talking about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I reached out and called Kel-Aire. They were able to get me an appointment to check things out in a few days[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]... Now for the experience with Kel-Aire. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have an appointment window of 8-10am. Perfect... Chad shows up about 8:45 and he is a professional[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Has his tools, is friendly, explains everything he is doing, asks questions, goes into diagnosis mode. He is testing a variety of things. He concludes after many different things he has tested with his ohms meter that, in fact, the motor has gone bad. He then tells me- "due to the age of your system, it may be under warranty". WHAT! That is the best news I have heard all day. I do not have the time/energy or resources to pay THE RIDICULOUS QUOTE right now for a new blower motor. He lets me know the office will be in touch by the end of the day, and depending on the circumstances will give me a quote. In the meantime, I call the manufacturer, and they say: "yes, you do have a warranty on this unit. Here is how it works- (they give me a play by play of the process)" [[HIGHLIGHT]]That afternoon Kel-Aire calls me back and says, "We have found your motor" and she gives me a quote which includes the price of the motor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She says, "we need some more information to see if you qualify for warranty." I explained everything; and she said: "Great, then we will go with the warranty route and I am ordering your motor." She currently has me set up for an installation in "about a week" when the motor comes in. I would be charged for the service call and the labor. (VERY REASONABLE) This has been the BEST service I have EVER received from ANY service company. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone reading this review. read more

Highly recommended. Our 20 year old heater recently broke. Had a local company diagnose the issue and they recommended replacing the entire heater, the AC unit, and the ductwork estimating $20,000. So I call Kel-Air for a second opinion. Chad came out and isolated an issue with the motherboard. It's been working great and Chad saved me $19,000. Called around locally for an estimate for installation of new furnace and air conditioning units. Most local companies I called did not called back at all after leaving messages and one said they would put me on a waiting list which never transpired. Too bad for them. In the long run, I was able get a couple of bids. You just have to do your homework. I gave Kel-Aire a called and Rob Baladwin gave me back a return call. Set up an appointment to accessed my heating and air conditioning based on the square footage of my single family home. Rob was prompt, very informative, and professional. He provide us a very detail proposal listing what Kel-Aire was to provide for both the heating and air units. He gave us an installation date and time frame on how long it will take (approximately three days). During the course on the installation, Rob and his team came in and which were very efficient and they cleaned up every time using COIVD standards by the staff. Rob would come by the check on the process and communicated by email on any concerns and updates. At the end, we were given a walk-thru and the lowdown on instructions and maintenance. I spoke to Rob the owner about eight months before Covid hit. He gave me a legit price. Kinda too expensive but I know they are a extremely reputable company. Fast forward about a year and a half later through Covid I had five other estimates and they went from Cheaper to bout the same price. One of my last estimates started out at 10 grand 30 seconds later it was at nine grand 30 seconds later was at eight grand and 20 seconds later he was at seven grand. He couldn't comprehend how if you would've just told me the entry price level I would've been more interested. Also most of the other companies seemed not up to spec. What I liked about Rob the owner of Kel-aire was he came right out and crawled around under my dirty shit and gave me a price within three days. He was replacing a heater and air conditioning unit. The heater was installed underneath the house where they had to open up a door frame in a crappy crawl space and install it and then re-door it. Also heating unit was hung above ground. They also plumbed a drain pipe off the unit to the outside. Lots of extra stuff. Problem was after Covid price went up over $1000. I completely understand that's the updated cost of materials. We settled on a date and the crew came out and within two days had it done and done well. My only gripe was the outside AC unit on its new pad had some of the exterior condenser blades bent. They brought this to my attention and straighten them to where it wasn't a problem. Super professional and super fast. Yes over a year and a half of research I figured out I could've had it done cheaper but good Lord not done correct. It's like your mama said you get what you pay for. This was my grandfathers and grandmothers house, I'm renting it out but I plan on living in it in a few years. I would like to know when I get there I have heat and AC that will last. The first time I met Rob when considering purchase of an AC system for my home I was deeply impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and friendly personality. During a recent hear wave, he demonstrated customer care at the highest level. I texted and emailed him at 6 p. m. - probably in the middle of his dinner hour, because my AC was telling me " no signal. ". My wife and I were sweltering. He called me within a few minutes of my text. He walked me through various ways to troubleshoot- staying on the line the whole time - about 30 minutes at least. I did all he said and he told me that sometimes it takes the system 5 minutes or so to come back on line. We ended our call. Rob came over in the beginning for the initial assessment and recommended on what we should do and was very thorough and transparent with everything. He was very kind and kept us up to date with all the information we needed and informed us of when and what to expect when the crew would come out for the installations. Their professionalism, communication, and honesty during the bidding was apparent from day one. Moreover, the bid itself was very competitive compared to the other highly reviewed businesses in the area. For the install: the crew arrived on time, and took the time to make sure it was done correctly and to my satisfaction. Their techs worked with the manufacturer directly to make sure our dual fuel system not only worked, but did so in the most efficient way possible (the whole point of choosing this system). 2020 update: The recent repair was HVAC. They replace the hot surface igniter (HSI) unit. Entire repair took 0.5 hour, they charged 0.5 labor + $70 trip - that is OK. What does not seemed to be reasonable was the HSI component charge was $106 that most suppliers charge $20 to $40. HSI is not much different from a car spark plug plus a piece of wire. They haven't even left the house from the install and I'm singing their praise. I started off getting 3 bids for a new HVAC and heating units. All of the companies had great reputations and good products but sometimes there is nothing like having a company out of your neighborhood. It took 4 days for the install. There was a crew of 1-3 (depending on what was going on. "Cowboy", Sean and Chris worked a full day and cleaned up afterward (you would think that this is standard or common sense but I've had companies leave a mess in/around my house at the end of each day). They also took out 2 wall heaters and put up drywall. I now have my Carrier central heat and air, something I've been wanting since 2002. THANKS AGAIN GUYS! This review is not about the installation nor the HVAC equipment. This review is about our experience during the estimate visit. Due to our own negligence, a rat wreck havoc in our crawl space and ruined our very old ductworks. The AC equipment is very old too so its time to get rid of it and change to a new and more energy efficient AC. We called 4 companies to do an estimate and Rob from Kelaire stood out among all of them. We felt Rob really cared about his customers and we felt we can truly trust him. Rob tried to work with what we have so we wont have to spend our life savings for a new HVAC. We needed to change all the ductworks due to code requirement however they can still use our newer thermostat, metal connectors etc... We are so ready to hire Kelaire, however we decided to waits until Kelaire start offering ductless AC instead. After what happened to our ductworks in a very tight crawl space, we don't want to take chances again and have the same problem in the future. Its not cheap to replace ducts. Although the other two companies offered ductless (very expensive!), we didn't feel the same ease and care we felt talking with Rob. So we decided to wait it out. Save money and hopefully KelAire will start offering ductless AC in the near future and in a much affordable. I would definitely recommend Kelaire if you are in the market for new hvac. read more

I cannot say enough about the exceptional service provided by Kel-Aire. A couple years ago we decided to install a/c. We already had central heating so it should have been a rather straight forward procedure. Unfortunately who every originally built this house definitely did not know much about HVAC because the ducting in our house was a total mess. It turns out there was only one 8" duct taking air up to the second floor of a roughly 2000 square foot house so the lower level was an ice box and upstairs was still hot. Rob and Cowboy did a great job working with us and ended up expanding the the duct to a much bigger size for a fair price since it was neither of our faults. Jump to this winter. It's been really cold out and now it has been nearly impossible to heat up the bottom floor because they did too good of a job directing air upstairs. Again, Rob and Cowboy came through and helped us install an adjustable damper so we can control where the air goes season by season. Last week it was consistently 10 degrees cooler downstairs, and now it is nice and even on both levels. Seriously just do yourself a favor and have your work done by these guys.
