We have been to Dr. Gwynn several times, usually for our cats, Marco & Polo. Once, I even brought in a turtle, that I "rescued" as it ambled across Rufe Snow. I wanted to learn what kind of turtle, and the environment I should release it (far from busy roads). I did. But this last visit was a sad one. Polo developed a tumor, on his lower jaw, several months back. Options included risky surgeries (mandibulectomy), or traditional cancer therapies (chemo), that would greatly diminish his quality of life, and only marginally extend it. We did get several evaluations, all the same, grim, recommendations. The only real option, was enjoy Polo until the growth affected his well being, and then humanly end his suffering. That day was two days ago (9/8/2020). We brought Polo in to be humanly euthanized (I really do not like the term "put to sleep"). Writing this makes me sad, so let me finish by saying Dr. Gwynn and her staff were caring and compassionate every step of the way. I was able to stay with Polo, the entire time, right up his last breath and heartbeat. Toward the end, after the first shot, a tranquilizer, he even started purring. I like to think it was because he was no longer in pain, and that he could see me, and feel me holding him. It was, and continues to be, very sad. But I (we) are happy that Polo is no longer suffering. We are very grateful to Dr. Gwynn and her staff for their help with this difficult thing to do. This vet has received rave reviews for dogs and cats. Do NOT use for rabbits. I took my female holland lop to be spayed. Post surgery I was given generic instructions that I was told they give to all of their spay patients. The instructions were accurate for a dog or a cat. They instructed to not give food until 8pm, and then, to only give half. They also instructed to withhold normal water amounts until the following morning. These instructions are not only incorrect, but would have been extremely dangerous for a rabbit's post operative care. They go in ato GI Stasis if they don't eat. Thankfully, I had done my own research and knew that. When I asked the discharge tech at what point I would need to bring her in if she hadn't started eating yet, she replied with, "Oh I don't know. Maybe a couple of days?" If I had followed both the discharge post op instructions as well as this tech's directions, my rabbit could have very likely died. It's considered an emergency if they haven't eaten anything for 12 hours. At the 11 hour mark she had not eaten anything so I took her in to another vet that offered emergency care. She needed critical care syringe feeding, pain medication, and sub cutaneous hydration. I will be writing a second YELP review tonight for them, and it will be 5 stars, instead of 1. These mistakes and miscommunications could have been extremely dangerous. read more

I wish I could share the 5 star review enthusiasm but I DO NOT recommend Keller All Creature Animal Clinic - especially for an animal considered to be an exotic. Hindsight is always 20/20, and after what our beardie went through this past weekend, I realized that this veterinarian never really taught us anything that would have made us better reptile pet parents. We recently visited on 6/14 for my 2 dogs well visits. We were charged $102 per dog to have their stool tested. We were given collection containers and told to return them once we collected the sample. I returned today 7/31 with the samples only to be told that I had to return them within 2 weeks of our visit and that in order to have their still tested I would have to pay the fee again. We were not told during our visit that the samples had to be returned within 2 weeks or I would have never agreed to pay that fee as I knew there would be no way I could have the samples back within 2 weeks. Very poor practice and I wonder how many others have been affected by this scam. read more

I only took our rabbit here to get spayed because I could not afford it at our normal exotic vet. The surgery went fine, but I did not like Dr. Gwyn's bedside manner. She was pretty rough with our rabbit, and I got a bad vibe from her. Luckily, our rabbit did survive (they frequently pass away during surgeries), but I don't think I will return. I would rather pay a few extra hundred dollars and get a vet who cares for my pet and treats her with kindness. read more

We found a blue jay on Heritage Trace this morning, this is my second blue jay to find. I didn't get the last one where he needed to be in time, so for sure didn't want to lose this one. Made some calls, a vet trip, and finally got in touch with this office. Although, I've heard nothing but fantastic news about this office, so I was really taken off guard by the women who took the injured bird from me. She was loud on her phone as she walked in, it distracted me, bird jumped out of my hands and on the desk. While still on the phone, she pushed by me, forcefully grabbed the bird and went to the back...while flinging the birds tail onto the wall while doing so. I usually don't complain. But, he was injured, bleeding, and both my littles were with me. I hope the bird makes it, and she has a better day. read more

I had a simple nail trim scheduled for my guinea pig. I Waited for 45 minutes and still hadn't been called back or even made me aware if they were running behind. They called me on my way home asking where I was. I explained that I finally gave up and left. There were about 10 others waiting for their appointment as well. This is poor management and service. I love this vet office! Everybody is so friendly and knowledgeable. My dog has terrible allergies and Dr. Gwynn has been great about trying several different options with me to get his allergies under control at an affordable price! My dog is not the most well-behaved, especially with other animals. I am always very anxious to take him to the vet. I love that this office makes me feel welcome! They always take me back quickly and he doesn't spend time in the lobby with other animals, which I really appreciate. Also, the appointments are always quick. My Buddy was having difficulty with his breathing and I did not know what was going on with him. I was able to schedule an appointment that day and was seen pretty quickly. The vet recommended some antibiotics and a saline solution. The vet left to get me some take home medication and while I was waiting, my Buddy really started to have problems. When the vet came back, it was obvious something had gone wrong. The vet quickly took him to get some oxygen. Long story short, when it was time to take him home, he never made it to the car. I would NOT suggest this clinic. Now, with some time to think, when someone says he got a 50/50 chance, think twice about just going along with what the vet says. read more

I took my dog here for a follow up after the emergency vet. The dr did $700 worth of tests and X-rays and told me she didn't know what any of it meant. She pointed at areas of each x ray and said she didn't know what it was. Then she read the result of the blood work from the paper (high, low, normal, normal, high etc.) and said she didn't know what it meant. Then she sold me an open bottle of medication that said Spain on the box and Canada on the insert. She said there is a National shortage of that medication and all that she could get was the huge capsules that she sold me. I left and tried to give my tiny dog one of the huge pills, it didn't work. I went back to the emergency vet to get more of the small chewable pills they had. I asked keller all Creatures Animal Clinic to call in a rx bc Walmart and cvs and every pharmacy can in fact get the small chewable pills. When I took the bottle of capsules back to her, for a $169 refund, she said she couldn't take it back because it was open. So I spent $700 on tests that she couldn't read and medication that I couldn't use. Also, the emergency vet charged 1/4 of what she charged me for the same medication in a more usable form. Walmart pharmacy charged even less to fill the prescription. When I tried returning she said she could "shove it down my dogs throat" as I was leaving. read more

Dr. Gwynn took such good care of our pet rat when she came in for an emergency surgery on a ulcerated tumor a few months ago. She was straight forward and so helpful. Very very disappointed with the vet. We took our 9 year old dog to get allergy pills. She tried to get every penny out of us possible! She demanded we get an antibiotic even though our dogs skin was not infected and just needed his regular allergy pills. We went online to order the allergy pills and she denied our request all because we didnt want to give our dog a months worth of antibiotics. Will never go back! read more

I took my dog in for an ear infection. Dr. Gwynn prescribed my dog "antibiotic" ear drops and a steroid. We went back in for a follow up and she said the ear infection was still present and my dog needed more, in her words "antibiotic" ear drops and another round of steroids. I was charged twice now $54.40 (not including the steroid) for what I was told were a prescription medication. I just googled the ear drops she prescribed and found out they are $12 on AMAZON!!!! The "prescription" is for TrizUltra + Keto. This place is a scam!!! The vet was completely dishonest calling it a prescription medication!! read more

I've used Susan Gwynn, Keller All Creatures, since she graduated from A&M veterinary school many years ago. She's been my horse vet, cat and dog vet. Over the years it's been time to put one or the other of my sweet furry friends to sleep and she's always been wonderfully supportive and understanding. At her new clinic she has a candle with a special purpose . The sign by it asks people to be patient, if it's lit, as someone is saying goodbye to a special friend. A wonderful, caring, person. Her staff have always been the same. Our latest rescue cat came to us sick, having been in a shelter for months. He was not an easy kitten to treat but is now a healthy 14 pound tabby to whom we are enormously attached. Recently our Chihuahua mix was experiencing breathing problems. We rushed him to All Creatures and met Julie at the door as she was opening for the day. She immediately recognized the critical nature of our dog's condition and began working on him. Moses soon stopped breathing, and Julie inserted a breathing tube a began rescue breathing. Her actions revived Mo, saving his life. Heather arrived, and without even taking off her coat, immediately began to assist in Moses's care. During the most critical moments Julie had called Dr. Gwynn to alert her of the emergency. In what seemed like seconds from that call, Dr. Gwynn arrived to assess the situation. These professionals went above and beyond normal veterinary care to save our dog. Where some may have hesitated, they did not. Life is precious, and a life was saved. This event was further confirmation of the unique and personal care all our pets receive at All Creatures.
