I went into Ace Progress Ridge today to have two used paint cans shaken up and purchase one new…read moreone. When I arrived at the paint counter and asked to have the cans shaken I was abruptly interrupted with a very rude "I won't shake up that can" by someone named Jaron. I was very taken aback by his rudeness since I've had many cans of previously opened paint shaken up there before. When I asked why (in total confusion) Jaron said "I don't want your paint all over my paint shaker". I was so confused at this point I moved on to ask for help with the can of paint I needed to purchase. Jaron was just incredibly rude and refused to help by being short and condescending. I picked out my own paint. I then asked to talk to Chris, the store manager and now I know exactly why the employees act like this at this store! Chris said "I am sorry you feel that way" and tried to justify Jaron's actions by stating thy someone's can of paint spilled in their shaker. I am not at all upset that ace no longer shakes up previously opened paint cans - that is perfectly within the store's right to decide and I was very clear with Chris on that!! I am, however, appalled at how rude Jaron was and how Chris didn't listen to my concern about Jaron's attitude and instead tried to justify it with an explanation of why they don't shake up cans anymore. I reiterated I wasn't upset that they don't shake up paint cans anymore and Chris repeated, "I'm sorry you feel that way!" The number one comment narcissists make is "I'm sorry you feel that way"! The first rule of customer service is to never blame the customer and that is exactly what Chris did with a narcissistic comment. I asked to speak to Bob, the owner but have not had a call yet. This store needs a new mgr (just read the reviews here - this is a pattern) and some education in customer service. Don't waste your time here! Take your business to Lowe's or Home Depot!

The staff is nice, pleasant but in comparison to the Tigard store, this one is bare, harder to find things and just not as well organized. Ace is pricey, you're not going to get THE best value on most items but that's okay if you are in a rush or have an emergency. But you will OCCASIONALLY find a real deal. It's just not often lol. It's convenient but definitely not my #1 choice for Home Improvement.

Naturally, we contacted the store expecting them to stand behind the products they profit from. Instead, they immediately hid behind the manufacturer and acted like none of it was their problem. So apparently Home Depot's business model is: Sell defective products, collect the money, dump the customer onto someone else when things fail. Amazing system. Truly. Anyone can make money if they never take responsibility for what they sell. And this wasn't even a one-time experience. Nearly everything we've purchased from this particular store has had issues, defects, or outright failures. Getting anyone there to help is like talking to a wall. No ownership, no urgency, no accountability. Just endless "you'll have to call someone else" nonsense from employees who clearly have been trained to avoid responsibility at all costs. At this point, it feels like Home Depot is less interested in customer service and more interested in being a middleman for defective junk while leaving customers stuck dealing with the consequences. Companies like this wonder why customers stop coming back and why people are abandoning big-box stores. Well, due to some rent issues, they ended up in a shopping center off of NW Barnes. I happened upon it while killing time before a doctors appointment. It's still filled with charming items for your home and garden, most with an old world charm - think urns, topiaries, trailing ivy, fleur-de-lis, iron accents, rustic wood, arched frames and mirrors. Also lots of furniture from accent tables to display units, tables, chairs, desks and more. The owner is so friendly and helpful. If you are looking for ideas, seek him out! Items are unique and affordable in an array of price ranges. While this style as perfect for my previous home and garden, there aren't many items that work in my modern condo, but I purchased some gifts for friends. During the Christmas season, I bought giagantic snowflakes, candle holders and lit trees. If you used to visit this shop when they were on NW 23rd, take the quick ride out to NW Cedar Hills area and continue to support them in this new location.
