He provided his recommendation on the new HVAC unit and anticipated that I'd be doing my own research and also getting other quotes. His years of experience and commitment to explaining the problem, why he recommended the unit he did, and his quick responses demonstrated his company was the right one for the job. On the day of the work, his team arrived on time and efficiently. His entire team was friendly and they were able to complete the full install of my HVAC in just a few hours. I had a gas water heater installed in June 2020 by Kelly services. Fast forward to February 2023 and I have a courtesy inspection conducted on the home by another plumbing company. The company found two gas leaks on the supply line of said water heater that had been tagged with yellow electrical tape. They confirmed with the gas sniffer that there are indeed two leaks. When I called Mr. Kelley to attempt to remedy the issue, he denied any knowledge of the gas leaks, denied that and would not remedy the issue. The cost of the repair was over $900. Most importantly, I was never notified of this issue and would have never known unless I had this inspection done. AVOID AT ALL COST! read more

We hired Mr. Kelly and his company to re-point our chimney. The job took three times longer than they said it would and the workers spent the majority of their time sitting around my yard smoking cigarettes. The work was sloppy and incomplete. We were told that they would be back to finish the job and that never happened. We also never got the chimney cap replaced that we paid for. Multiple phone calls to Mr. Kelly have gone on answered...that was two years ago so I guess we're out of luck. Horrible! Do not use this company! - instead of discussing things like an adult he chose to act like a five-year-old and screamed at us over the phone. It was very embarrassing and unprofessional - Our heat broke this morning and he agreed that he could come on Wednesday. Super knowledgeable plumber completed all three items, installing a water softener system, fixing a leaking water faucet and removing a stuck drain plug from the kitchen sink. I needed a well pump replaced, and was able to get a technician to come on a Sunday. Overall it cost me $500 to replace a $34 part that took less than an hour to do. Then, I was told it would be $5,000 for a new pump and it would take a few days to fix. I had a different company come that same day and I was charged $1250. Total. And it took them 2 hours tops to come, fix it and leave. For a fraction of what Kelly's was charging. Kelly plumbing is responsive and will come out last minute but they will take advantage of people in need. Never using them again. read more

My sump pump was spewing a not so pleasant odor and the water in the receptacle was at a high level which told me something was not right. Ugh! We had a previous contractor mess up a boiler repair, resulting in a contaminated well. Mr Kelly and his team of experts identified the problem immediately, had the correct boiler part installed, flushed the system and decontaminated our well. While there, they also identified a problem with out water filtration tank and were able to replace it the same day. All the technicians were professional, courteous and effective. I was so impressed with their efficacy, professionalism and thoughtfulness, from the plumbers to the office staff. Because of the recent freeze damage to pipes and plumbing in the hill country I was having a terrible time finding someone who could repair my toilet that was about to tip over. Through word of mouth from other plumbing contractors in the area they were able to connect me to Kelly Plumbing. As a paraplegic, having easy access to a toilet is critical and they responded quickly and efficiently. The repair was completed in less than an hour and the price was quite reasonable. I asked for free estimate from Kelly Heating and Plumbing out of Chesapeake Beach. I explained to him that we bought a water heater at Home Depot and sent him a text with a picture of it, model #, etc. The owner never showed for the estimate appointment. Instead, he sent me a text quoting me $895 to install it and $125 for the permit. Being that he was about $200 cheaper than the other estimates and local, I hired him. However, when his technician came out, the price went up by $575. Because I am on a tight schedule, I gave into his whole bait and switch scheme. I should have told him to leave. Stupid me for not. Turns out the technician did not have his own towels for the job, so he took it upon himself to use the bath towel hanging in my bathroom and my son's workout towel. My son brought it to my attention that the towels were missing. So I contacted the owner (Kelly) of Kelly Plumbing and Heating. The owner said his technician was 100% he did not touch the towels. However, our security camera shows the technician walking to his truck with them! When I showed the owner the video, he said I had mental health issues... They came to my residence to fix our gas fireplace approximately 6 times each time they needed to get different parts that had to be ordered. We wouldn't hear back from them and would have to call to ask for updates with extensive time in between. They even took some of the parts of our fireplace with them to find matching replacement. Needless to say they never got the fireplace working. We were then told they would get us quotes for replacement options which we never received. Worst contractor I've ever hired. He wired my my AC/Heating system incorrectly and it blew up the transformer. When I called them to tell them what had happened they respond that they had not wired it wrong and would not honor their work. They left us with no AC for days when it was 95 degrees. We had to hire a second company for $516 to replace the transformer and they confirmed that Kelly had wired it incorrectly. Additionally we had Kelly do some plumbing work for us and later discovered that he grossly over-charged us for the material. For example they charged us for 40' of CPVC and when I measured it it was only 16'; they charged us for 7 hr of labor at $105 and hour when they were only there for 6 hrs; they charged us for 3' of copper pipe when they only installed 10". Additionally they way over charged us for all the material parts, for example $26.85 for a 1/2" ball valve that only sell for $4.95....there was so much more. When speaking with two of my friends they said they had similar experiences with this company. I usually don't write reviews on contractors, but I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this company unknowingly. BEWARE, DON'T HIRE THEM!!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!! read more
