Plumber explained that leak was from water freezing in pipe. He showed us the crack, saying that despite turning off the water for winter, water remained in the pipe and froze. We had an issue with our toilet downstairs, my husband changed the toilet tank parts, it worked, the leak from the bathroom tank stopped. But then, the toilet supply line started a very small leak, he went ahead and bought a new water supply connector, but it did not work, it continued leaking. On Monday, I decided to search online for plumbers, I found this company called: North River Plumbing LLC, located at 1123 MD-3 #305 in Gambrills, we live in Odenton. I called, and left a voice message. A man called Arturo or Arthur called me back, and said, shut the water, the water was already shut because we have 2 bathrooms, it was not an emergency, and I let him know it was not an emergency. But he insisted in coming here that night on 6/1/26. On the phone, we asked him how much was he going to charge, he said he did not know because he needed to see the problem. He came here, in 2 min he "fixed", he had the balls to say, all you need to do is to screw 4x more the nut that connects the supply water connector. Wow, that was easy! He ripped us off, shameless crooked contractor, he charged us $350 and had the courage to say he was giving a discount because the price was $400.

They were not able to fix the issue (apparently our pipe is broken/crushed and we have to dig up the entire foundation to replace the pipe-yay for new houses!) but they were able to diagnosis the issue using a camera. They were wayyyyyy cheaper than the other plumbers we called and are very clearly good people not trying to take advantage of people. They also were very kind and included my 4 year old who asked a million questions and was very engaged and interested in what was going on. I cannot recommend them enough. This is a family owned business that cares about the quality of the work.

However, the follow-up was disappointing. The same technician who caused the original problem was sent back, and the quality of the work raised concerns. For example, insulation in the wall area was minimal and appeared insufficient, and there was an attempt to use inappropriate materials (rags) in place of proper insulation. I had to supply insulation myself which he said was much better than what he had. Also he wanted to leave the rags in there cause it would be more insulation! The technician also mentioned he had worked until 3 AM and didn't really want to be working that day, which was not reassuring. Also an outside hose bib was left uncaulked. I followed up with the owner to share these concerns and never received a response, despite a second attempt to check in. In the end, I caulked the hose bib myself. I would have appreciated at least an acknowledgment or response, especially given my prior experience as a customer.
