On top of that, the appraisal from July clearly shows the house is only 850 square feet and is only two bedrooms, but he proceeded to list the home as 1400 square feet and claims it has 3 bedrooms. Why work with someone that is willing to lie in their listing? When the appraisal came back 30k under contract, he failed both me and his client by not even presenting a counter offer. instead, he canceled the contract, which lead to me losing the home and over $2,000 in expenses. As a first time home buyer, I believe all buyers and sellers deserve agents that are willing to put in hard work for their clients. It's clear that Evan and Edmonds Realty are not willing to do so and have failed so many parties.

Brian was not an Edmonds Realty customer. Rather, he was the seller of a condo on which I began the buying process, but ultimately decided was not the right choice. If my agent was only concerned with "getting the deal closed", as Brian asserts, she would not have supported my decision to look elsewhere, based on a significant issue with the condo that the seller could not or would not resolve before closing. I feel that Edmonds Realty helped me dodge a bullet, even though it meant more work on their part for basically the same fee. In other words, I was well represented and advised by my ER agent, while it appears that Brian is blaming my agent - rather than his own - for his dissatisfaction with his selling experience. So again, if you want an agent who will make your satisfaction the top priority, I can say without reservation that this was my experience with Edmonds Realty.

She also supervised the movers for our family until we could return from vacation--that is commitment. He strongly promoted a contractor who he described as a long-standing relationship and said they received 100% of their work through him. He mentioned the contractor had renovated his properties and his dad's very cheaply, and that he stayed with them overseas. I hired the contractor, which became a very negative experience--the work was incomplete, receipts were discarded, and my problem was never resolved. I later needed the receipts for warranty purposes, but they were not provided. He said the contractor would listen to him, but in the end, the realtor abandoned me and left me to deal with the contractor directly, which fell on deaf ears. The contractor is not listed on the WA L&I website, and when I asked about this, the realtor and the contractor both said that the contractor had insurance. When I tried to escalate, the WA managing director for Compass would not even speak with me and delegated the matter to a staff member who sided with the realtor and made me feel like I was the problem. I also contacted the head office, but there is only a voicemail, and they respond at their discretion, so I never heard back. When I asked other realtor friends about this situation, the reply I got was, quotation: "Compass. What did you expect?"

I worked with Marc to complete an off market transaction. From the first time we talked to each other, for my inquiry of how an off market sale works to when attorneys like him get involved, Marc was communicative, informative, patient, and to the point. He spent time talking and explaining things to me even when there may not be a deal. When I called again after making some progress, he remembered our previous conversation and we were able to quickly confirm next steps. He also spent substantial time conducting comp analysis with me, which I wasn't really expecting, provided referrals for services as needed, and walked me through the contract point by point per my questions. It was simply superb service. Worth every penny. I would also say that he was really watching out for our interest. In cases where we might be able to negotiate, he worked to point those out and discussed potential strategies with us. On top of that, when we ended up making decisions he may not have made himself, he quickly accepted our perspective without making a big deal of it. He is very smart about the market and knows what has to be done to get a house ready to sell and what doesn't need to be done. He has resources for what ever is needed flooring, painting, construction, etc.. For each project he would get 2-3 estimates and know the pros and cons for each. The choice was always mine. Never was I pressured to one estimate or another. I sold two houses in the last two years and they sold immediately with multiple bids. It was only possible because of Pete. Pete was always in contact. Answered emails and calls promptly. Answered all my many questions. He is a really nice guy and was it great to work with him.

When I moved in, there were spiderwebs and dead bugs everywhere and now Im being told that I need to clean them up, paint the entire place, and so on in order to get my deposit back and not accrue additional fees. Considering that the space was literally used to store my stuff for three weeks since I couldnt actually work in there, I find it hard to believe that theres a laundry list of issues that now need to be remedied to avoid charges. When we originally rented the garage style unit it was unpainted, the manager said if we would accept it unpainted (it was just bare sheetrock) then when we left we wouldn't need to paint it. They raised the rent like clockwork, but that's fine, it's business after all. After over 3 years we decided to leave since we were barely there. Before doing so we double checked with the manager on the paint situation. Two different managers told us not to worry about it, there would be no charge. Then a month later we received a bill for $550! (It somehow cost $550 to paint a tiny 8x14 room?!?) Well they kept our security deposit. I reached out to the management office about the situation and they replied with a surprisingly hostile letter basically saying screw off and don't try taking legal action. They headache wasn't worth the $500 so I guess they won, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
