Yesterday my husband went to pick up the refrigerator that I had purchased earlier. He had a trailer so didn't pull in the regular place for pick up as would be very hard to turn around. Two different employee's at different times came out and said that they would bring it out to him. After a time of waiting a third one came out and said no, it wouldn't fit though the door. WHAT? And that he had to pull up to the other door. If we didn't need the refrigerator for a rental and was so late in the day, he would have walked in and got his money back. He drove around, and finally after a long time of back and forth got the van and trailer turned around. It would have easily fit through the first door. We bought a stove, dishwasher and fridge 8 months ago. The sales guy was great. The delivery guy was so so. Had to finish peeling the plastic off after he'd supposedly already done it. Within a couple of months the door shelf on the fridge broke in half. After a few mis-communications trying to get it fixed I talked with Bryan who was also the one who originally sold us our appliances. He got it taken care of that same day. We have had a horrible experience buying an expensive dishwasher that does not work properly and has ruined our brand new cabinetry. They refused to return it. They are pushing us off and humoring us with service visits until the service warranty is up. I'm considering bringing my attorney into this. The product was a returned item; I am starting to believe they knew that they sold us a faulty dishwasher. I would avoid Oldfield's completely. We have bought several major appliances from Oldfield's Appliance Center over the years and always had a great experience with their sales staff and, on the few occasions when we have needed service or repair work, excellent service and follow up there too. Recently we bought a new washer & dryer and had some mechanical problems with the washer. Oldfield's service department was very responsive and timely in making the repairs. Because the washer was just a few months old and needed several repairs we asked Oldfields to replace it with a new washer, which they did. And, they did this with a smile and a great attitude throughout. We prefer to support local businesses when we can and we have always been pleased with Oldfield's staff and service. We bought the Bosch 500 series washer & dryer, assuming that since Oldfields was local and established, we'd be in good shape. The washer & dryer came "Special Delivery" at no charge, but without the manual and parts bag for the washer. So we're missing parts that are needed for setup. The washer has a 2" long scratch on the front edge, makes me wonder if it was a floor model. The two delivery men knew NOTHING about the washer & dryer, and since there was no setup manual for the washer, they of course did nothing to set them up. Before they would deliver, they told me I had to get a four prong outlet installed in place of the old three prong 220V outlet. Apparently they don't install a $9 outlet when they sell you $2200 worth of washer/dryer. I had to call an electrician to decode the instructions for me. Then there's the unsolved mystery of the washer plugging into the back of the dryer. The plug only goes in about halfway, and does not look at all like a secure connection. So here I am three days later, still NO WASHER OR DRYER able to operate. No one at Oldfields has a frikkin clue about any of this *%#@. Glad other folks have had good luck, but it's not happening here. Can not recommend. read more

I give Bryan Mumme at Oldfield's my highest recommendation. My partner and I were very impressed with him, and with Oldfield's overall. Bryan was very knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and easy to speak with. He helped us salvage our existing washing machine (and gave us the product to use for free) rather than pushing us to purchase a new machine. This meant a lot to us and showed integrity and character. The prices at Oldfield's are reasonable, with a nice selection of appliances for multiple budgets. Bryan is a genuine person who makes a connection with his customers. He listened to our needs and priorities in a washing machine and gave us a ton of great information for future reference. We needed a new refrigerator and made a purchase at Kelly's in Eugene. We really like the unit, an all refrigerator. The appliance we bought was a floor model. When it was delivered, the bottom base plate was missing. The company had one shipped to us BUT did not include the right screws, so it is continuing to fall off which is annoying. The delivery guys gave us a lawn sign that claimed we were another satisfied customer who made a purchase at Kelly's. They said if we left it up for a month Which we did, and returned it to the store we would receive a $25.00 Visa gift card. The problem? It's only good at Kelly's. What do they sell for $25? We took friends who lost everything in the recent fires out to dinner, we planned to use the card toward our foursome dinner. It was an embarrassing way to learn it was not accepted. I strongly feel that we were deceived. We provided free advertising for them. read more

PATHETIC, Two high-end dryers bought from Olfield's have turned out to be lemons. The first dryer had 8 service calls the first year broke down for weeks at a time wating for parts, this time 4 service calls the first 6 months. What does Olfields do pass the buck, so Im on the phone for hours again with the manufacture with no help what so ever from Olfield's. There happy to take your cash, then your on your own. I'm ready to buy new appliances for the kitchen and would never consider buying from Olfield's again. read more

Audio department: Had an install scheduled for speakers in our home. When I found a better price elsewhere for some of the speakers, I told Oldfields I only wanted to have them install the surround sound portion of the home. They opted out of any business with me at that point. I guess they are an "all or nothing" kind of place. I'm sure if I would have originally just asked for the surround install, they would have been fine doing the work. There are plenty of businesses in town to do this same job. Very unhappy. My top of the line Frigidare refrigerator, only 5 years old, quit working. The warranty expired last December. Oldfields and Frigidaire said they can't work with me on the warranty. I have to wait a week for the part. $400 for parts, labor and frustration. Sorry Oldfields, I won't be back. read more

Their service department SUCKS! They incorrectly diagnosed a problem with our microwave, and then refused to refund the $75 fee for a tech visit. Don't work with these guys, because unless you buy their extended warranty, they'll send you out the door with a bad product and a "too bad, you're out of luck" attitude. read more

Not a good experience. My new refrigerator from their main store--not the damaged products--died completely 5 months after they installed it. Since they couldn't offer me any service appointments except during my working hours, I bought a new refrigerator from another company. The person who installed that new fridge told me Oldfield's should have let me know that it's not a good idea to plug a 3-pronged refrigerator into a 2-prong outlet. I got no such warning. So, out the price of the old refrigerator, the new refrigerator. Have an appointment with an electrician. They were not helpful at all at Oldfield's when I told them my refrigerator wasn't working well. read more

do not buy a extended warrany with your purchase, they aren't worth anything they cover very little. We had a water leak in our fridge and when repairman came out said he was only authorized to do $180 of repair. My husband had to do the repair. Not very happy about this, we had to wait 2 weeks to get a repair guy at our home to find out he wouldn't do anything!. read more

"The Big TV for the Big Game" for the past few years Oldfield's has participated in this giveaway through KZEL radio. It is good advertising for them. When I was ready to buy a big screen TV they were the first place I went to. Geoff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He showed be some models in my size range and explained the features of each. I thanked him and said I was going to look at other stores first. I looked and didn't like what I saw. None of them had the service that Geoff gave me. I was back to Oldfield's the same day. Geoff didn't look surprised to see me. Recently we needed to replace a fridgerater in our older style kitchen. Because we were very limited in space, I researched which one would fit. Then hesitantly went to Kellys! (I say hesitantly because they are a BIG company! But we have few options to go with!) They were very happy to order the fridge.( No work involved but paperwork!) I explained Several times I would like it ASAP, at least before thanksgiving! I was told no problem,as long as it comes to them by the 15th. Delivery date given. We would then get it that following monday! So by that Monday afternoon, I had heard nothing! Called them and was told it was in, but not on truck for delivery! This appliance plus delivery fee was all paid for up front! I confirmed they had right phone number and was assured they would figure out problem and get back to me! It has been ten days since I requested info on fridge! Have heard NOTHING! They got our money, so why care now right? I'm ready to stop payment on our credit card and tell them to just keep the fridge! Horrible customer service!!!! The service department has good technicians, but the parts ordering is from the 1960s. 10 days for a part that we had offered to pay expedited freight. I will never buy from them again. Bought an expensive gas range here. Had the good fortune of having Pete Wilkinson as our salesperson. He was so helpful, courteous and patient. Visited with him 3 times before purchase. He followed up with us before and after purchase. Was a very pleasant experience. A professional and very honest. He recommended an installer named Larry Bauer who did an outstanding job. Got a great deal and didn't have to go to a big box store and go thru their hoops. Highly recommend and will go their for many other appliances. Also visited their other store in Eugene, Kelly's and visited with Glenda who I can also recommend. Delightful lady. Bought a zillion appliances over 50 yrs and this was the smoothest. I think a lot of people think the appliance dealer makes and guarantees the appliance, but its the manufacturer that provides the warranty and service. Wanted to buy local so I went to Oldfields. Customer service at point of purchase was great. However, their delivery system sucks. They were supposed to call first thing this morning to let me know when my item would be delivered - they never called. I called the store at noon and they told me it was scheduled to be delivered between noon and two - well two has come and gone and again I had to call the store to find out where they are. Just heard from the delivery driver and now they say they'll be here close to 2:45pm. Extremely frustrating, extremely bad customer service. Mentioned my frustration to a co-worker and learned that they had a similar problem and would never go there again. Live and learn. Sorry Oldfields I will buy from someone else next time. read more
