Kelly's is just not what it used to be, especially since the daughter started running it. I truly had a one star experience staying at Kelly's Resort. The owners daughter has her little kids unsupervised, running around the property bothering guests. I truly believe this is a concern that will be brought to somebody's attention. The kids seem neglected, Especially since it's located right by the water where they could get themselves into trouble. Upon arrival, me and my spouse went to check in to our "cabin" but we were met with a swarm of wasps right by the front door! Trash cans overflowing, unhelpful employees, kids already bothering us, pool was so dirty.  I asked for assistance with the television in my room and was told somebody would be right there to help me but nobody ever showed up. I am confident me and my partner made the right choice by never going there again.  I would not recommend Kelly's Resort. read more

A perfect Memorial Day stay for our young family of four and dog. We spent three nights in Cabin 9 and it was exactly what we were hoping to find on our first visit to Lake Chelan. The owners and staff were all wonderful and the facilities are clean, comfortable and convenient (18min to town, but in a peaceful mountainside setting). The main lodge building is adorable with coffee and drinks on the patio. The heated pool was well maintained and a short 5min walk down a wooded path. We hope to return again next spring. We stayed at Kelly's Resort last summer and enjoyed their hospitality. Great spot next to the lake and they had a lot of canoes and paddleboard available to use. We brought our dog and rented the cabin across the street. Cabins were clean and spacious but the appliances look a bit outdated. It still worked fine. I'd recommend leaving the furry friends at home and renting the rooms at the cabin right next to the lake! It looks like they had the best views :) read more

For years, going to Kelly's by boat for ice cream, coffee, wine and cheese on the patio was a favorite summer outing for us and our lake house guests. Their gas is more expensive than Watson's but it was worth it because we made an outing out of it. Imagine our disappointment to learn that Kelly's no longer allows non-guests to purchase anything from the store or coffee shop. Not only did they lose our store purchases, raving reviews and loyalty, they're now losing our gas purchases as well. Very unneighborly and a foolish business decision on their part. read more

My family has been coming to Kelly's Resort since 1980, and it is probably my favorite place in the world. Not so close to Chelan that you feel crowded, but not so far that you can't go to dinner or golf. It's great for families, has a nice pool up in the woods if you don't want to swim in the lake. This place has been in the Kelly family since the late 40s or early 50s when it was first built and it's always great to come back and see Jeff or his kids Zach and Caitlyn still there keeping the place in such amazing shape. If you're looking for a place to relax this is where you should go. Full cabin with a real kitchen, air conditioning and amazing views. It has one of only 3 or 4 gas docks on the entire dock and plenty of space to bring the boat. Also rentals for canoes, paddle boards and floats. It's just a magical place and you can't get much better than that in my opinion. 5 out of 5 stars. We'll be going back here for generations to come. read more

I'm noticing a trend here. A lot of disappointed customers who have had their business turned away; and I am no exception. Boating up to Kelly's has been a yearly tradition of our family., we looked forward to it every year. We always made it a point to jaunt up lake to gas up at Kelley's, and then enjoy a beer on the deck. Well tradition no more. Unfortunately for us (and noticeably a lot of other patrons) Kelley's had made decision to turn away customers whom are not staying at their resort. I feel like this is a terrible business decision. Clearly there are a lot of lifetime customers that are now lost because of the new rule. Between the 3 large groups of our families that come to chelan every year, we have spent a lot of money at Kelley's. Daily coffee runs, beers, ice cream, snacks, & gas.... it adds up. I can only imagine how much money they are going to lose this season. So unfortunate. A lot of disappointed people here. Kelley's you are making a big mistake. Very sad turn of events, and bad business 101. read more

*** FYI I think a lot of the negative reviews for this place are from locals who are mad they can't use the store, so I would keep that in mind if you pay attention to star ratings. We LOVED staying at Kelly's Resort in cabin number 7. It was very quiet, convenient to the lakeshore shop and not too far from the pool. Just what we needed to get away from it all. Kelly's store has beer, wine, ice cream, s'mores fixings, tons of crackers, tortilla chips and salsa, canned things, pasta, sauce, milk, toiletries, Rx items, etc. If you want anything else, make sure you go to a grocery store before coming because there are no grocery stores in the area and the close fast food place is only open Friday through Sunday. However, we did a shopping trip before we came up and ate well. We also supplemented with beer, ice cream, chips, salsa and more. Everyone was very nice, helpful and accommodating. They even gave us free coffee for the coffee maker because the coffee bar is closed due to COVID. We really enjoyed the pool, which is nestled in the woods and below hiking trials - that was our favorite part. So pretty and relaxing. Very well maintained. The owner came and tested the water several times while we were there. In the cabin, the wood burning fireplace was a bonus - so much fun to light a fire at night. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots, pans, plates, cups, wine glasses (smart), cutlery, a microwave, toaster and coffee pot. The fridge was plenty big for us. The patio was huge and the patio furniture was perfect. We ate outside every day with a peekaboo view of the lake. We also used the grill outside to cook corn and barbecue with great success. It is so relaxing down at the lake. We did not take advantage of the free kayaks or peddle boat, but will plan to next time. It was nice to sit in the lounge chairs. The lakeside condos looked really nice with an unbeatable view of the lake! Kelly's Resort is only 3 miles away from Lake Chelan State Park, which was great for an afternoon hike and walk along the water. The state park has a public beach FYI that we will plan to swim at next time. One of the best parts was the day we checked out, they let us hang out at the pool all day on our last day and Mr. Kelly told us no one was checking in that day, so they let us go back into the cabin to use the bathroom and rinse off from the pool. We had such a great time and will definitely come back to Kelly's Resort! read more

Kelly's is our family's favorite place to stay in the Chelan area. The setting and cabins are beautifully designed and maintained, and the staff is awesome. The back patio on the lake reminds me of several European cafes we visited. I cannot think of a better place for morning coffee in Washington. I was surprised that Kelly's was only rated three+ stars, then read the reviews. All the lame reviews are from people who *weren't* actually guests. Longtime residents are upset they cannot buy ice and beer at the store, as they have in the past. I personally am glad that the beach, lawn and dock were open with a comfortable-sized crowd, which made the stay with our family all the better. Also, the pool is kept at a steady 85 degrees, and the store is a total throwback with items I haven;t seen in years and still enjoy. read more

I know I shouldn't be so loose and easy with my five stars, but I really loved this place. Stayed here twice. Once by myself on a 'retreat' getaway and another time with family. I could never remember their name and they didn't have a strong presence online at the time so I had to search and search to find them the second time. I'm not a huge fan of the other side of the lake where tons of people go with their families, but this place is quiet and perfect if you dislike crowds. They have cottages stacked up on the mountainside and even have managed to get a pool up there! Each cabin feels very private. The cottages have knotty pine and cozy, simple and clean, with kitchen facilities. The main area is right on the lake across the road, they have a little store and swimming area in the lake. A super nice family owns it and has for a long time. I remember they gave us fresh (organic) apples that were delicious - no pun intended. We saw and heard all kinds of wildlife outside and it was so refreshing and restoring to be there. If you want more action you can drive over to the m ain area of Chelan, but you will probably not want to leave. read more

Kelly's made my daughter cry. We've been staying in the same cabin on Lake Chelan for 8 years. Before that, we went to one of two family cabins. Lake Chelan is a family tradition, and one that we are passing on to our kids. From day one, a jaunt or two to Kelly's has been a part of that tradition. Gas, beer, wine, ice cream, etc. were usually on the list. My daughters, especially my youngest, have come to love this part of our time at the lake. I turned a blind eye to the fact it was the most expensive gas around. This year we took a boat of 10 to do just what we have always done. My girls had been talking up Kelly's to their friends who had never been to Chelan before. We were looking forward to having our friends enjoy a part of our family tradition. [INSERT SOUND OF SCRATCHING RECORD HERE] As we pulled up to the gas dock, we were informed we could not disembark - a new policy we were told. Apparently, only guests of their resort were now welcome. This news reduced my youngest daughter to tears (way to go Kelly's). Well, from a business perspective, this seems to be a bit of a head scratcher. I can't imagine all the $$ they are forgoing. As for my daughters and their friends, they were more than happy with the ice cream from 25 Mile Creek. A new tradition has begun... read more

My wife and I and some really good friends stayed here a few years back and we still remember it fondly. We will definitely go back as soon as we can. The location is idyllic. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They did a really good job of making us all feel at home. The cabins were really cozy and we had a fireplace that we actually used! We spent a great deal of time on the porch of the cabin just relaxing and taking in all the beautiful scenery. read more

We stayed at Kelley's Resort for a weekend in August. The location is quite a drive from Chelan (their facebook page and information was a little misleading in this aspect, as it sounded like a short ways to restaurants and activities in the Chelan area). The cabins were cute, but VERY rustic. The bathroom didn't even have an outlet for use. I didn't find it a good value for the money - it was very expensive for a bare-bones, rustic place to stay. The shop, swim and beach across the street were beautiful, and an enjoyable place to spend an afternoon with a good book, and they did offer some staple foods for sale in the "mini" grocery store. Lattes in the morning at the coffee stand were great, and the girl working there was really sweet. We won't be back, for the price we'd expect a little more comfort for the price paid. If you are looking for a really really rustic place that is off in the woods it likely will impress. The cabins are not nearly as nice as the storefront that is pictured on all their social media sites. read more

I guess as usual I'm the last one to know anything. We've been coming here for generations (at least 5 now), either boating up and getting gas and a treat while out on the lake, or walking up after dinner for an ice cream or coffee. Occasionally you forget something, and it was nice to have some sundries on hand so you didn't have to drive to town. Personally I've been coming up for at least 40 years. The hundreds of locals who have supported Kelly's year after year (and who now have expanding families who will continue to come to the area year after year) are not welcome to come anymore. You can still buy over-priced gas off the dock, but you can't tie up and pop into the store, and you can't walk up for an ice cream after dinner either. I'm not sure who decided that banning the expanding local population in order to appease an occasional complaint from the static resort population was a good move for the future. Whatever the reason they closed the store to locals, I hope they understand that it means many of us "locals" will also no longer buy gas from them as well. read more

Wonderful resort with lovely cabins. We arrived and they had thought of every detail, even the wood was ready in the fireplace. If you want boutique 5-star pampering you might choose something else but if you enjoy having privacy in a rustic & cozy setting it's perfect... & very romantic! The staff was also very helpful and catered to our every need. & they have Kayaks! We even got to take them out one morning to see the sunrise. read more

We have had a place on the lake since 1989 and have enjoyed Kelly's for their convenient gas dock, groceries we've needed, and the occasional times my husband gets me a coffee there. I am sad and frustrated by the decision to close the grocery and coffee stand!!! There are ways to police loitering! We have never stayed more than 10 minutes. You don't have dock space anyway. Kelly's is easily the top spot to stay on the lake. It's rustic and has an incredible charm and peace to it that will get you in vacation mode immediately. The cabins are super clean, private and quiet. The swimming pool and lakefront offer a great array of options for relaxing and staying cool. It's discouraging to see all of the poor reviews from folks who come in to spend $20 in the store and then take up all of the deck chairs and dock space for hours on end. I have been coming here for 35 years and this new policy, open only to guests, has been incredible. Now we (guests) can come down in the evening and enjoy a glass of wine without having to fight for a seat with some bro in a speed boat looking to ogle chicks in bikinis (see Shawn W review). Kelly's was meant to be a peaceful getaway, not your mini mart on the lake. I'm glad to see Kelly's has gone back to their roots and look forward to more years to come. read more

Fantastic! The Kelly's and their staff made us feel like family from the minute we arrived. The hospitality is the treatment & feeling of what a "resort" should be. The dock team did a great job! Location is away from town, but close enough. Perfect place to be away from the crowds. Cozy cabins located on the hillside above the lake. Clean and had everything we needed. Quiet & very relaxing. Awesome deck at the main lodge to just kick back and lounge on. Great spot to enjoy a morning coffee as the sun comes up. Swimming area in the lake and a pool too. It's been such a long time since I've had my expectations for hospitality and service blown away like they did here at Kelly's Resort. Knowing that we would be making a late arrival the owners turned on all of the lights in the cabin, stocked firewood, and placed our keys in a convenient place with a map to our cabin's location. Also, upon learning that we had a toddler is tow, they took the initiative to come in and set up the baby crib for us as well. The cabins were very tidy and spread out enough to give a sense of privacy and solitude. I will not stay anywhere else during my future visits to Lake Chelan. read more
