I strongly encourage anyone considering surgery at Dr. Kelly's Surgical Unit to get a second opinion first. When I brought my dog in to have a mass removed, I was given a detailed, itemized estimate. While transparency is important, the way it was presented made certain items--like testing the mass--seem optional and not especially urgent. I asked multiple times about the implications of not testing it. They kept using terminology I was unfamiliar with, and I kept having to ask for clarification, telling them I don't understand what these terms mean. The conversation made the testing feel like a precaution rather than a critical step. Just days after surgery, the mass began to regrow. When I brought him back, instead of support or a plan, I was told they would no longer treat him and that I needed to find another provider. After everything we had just gone through, that was devastating. I never once met the surgeon who operated on my boy. I was always told she was too busy. Looking back, that alone should have been a red flag. There was no follow-up call after surgery to schedule the removal of stitches, despite being told they would check in. I had to reach out myself about stitch removal. The experience felt rushed, impersonal, and transactional during a time that required compassion and guidance. In contrast, when I met with the team at All Creatures and the surgeon at CARE, they took the time to sit with me, thoroughly explain what happened, clearly explained terminology and walk through how it might have been prevented and what my options were moving forward. They were warm, empathetic, and treated both my dog and me with dignity. Unfortunately, for my sweet boy, it was too late. I am heartborken. Pet owners deserve clear guidance, full transparency about what is truly optional versus medically critical, and a surgeon who is willing to meet them before operating on their beloved pet. I guess I got what I paid for. Took my dog for a dental. They called after X-rays and before beginning the dental. I was told my dog needed 14 total teeth pulled. I would learn during the phone call post procedure that they took 17 teeth in total. Every other vet I've ever had would call before taking additional teeth. My dog is 2.5 years old. I would have preferred to address this with the manager, but he couldn't be bothered to come out to talk to me because he was working with other clients. Buyer beware of this chop shop with no accountability, no compassion, and no motive to do right by the paying customer. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Kelly's. I have taken my two dogs for teeth cleaning the last 3 years and have been very pleased with the care they receive. Through the consultation they were able to find a very slight leak in one of my dog's arteries a couple of years ago. She had just had a yearly exam and our regular vet did not pick up on it. This year they called after the cleaning with concerns on one eye. They had me take her to our regular vet and she had scratched her eye ball, and I had thought it was red because of allergies. All employees are very caring. I love the price. If I were to take them to our regular vet for teeth cleaning, the cost would have been. Does your fur baby need surgery? Mine needed an emergency splenectomy with a huge mass attached to it and a bladder stone removal. This was a major surgery! I was given quotes upwards of $10,000! Let me tell you, I was willing to go broke however, I found this facility where not only do they do only surgeries every day but make it cost efficient for the fur babies humans. They don't want you to go broke saving your fur babies life. I paid a quarter of 5 different quotes. Not only is my 11 year old fur baby back to normal but he acts more like a puppy now than ever. Horrible service. I will not go back. Left my credit card there, on the chair because they returned my pup with poop on his butt/ offered no tissues to clean him. Another patient gave me wipes. I was attempting to sign and pay, as I was not offered anything to wipe my hands off. I left my card on the chair as I left. I was not given a call to retrieve it. Also, when I first arrived, I was asked to stand outside of the building with my pup, when there were many seats available. My Vienna's received care at Dr. Kelly's on April 30. I am sad to say that Vienna passed away from aspiration pneumonia and sepsis not 48 hours after leaving their office. I spoke to their office twice with concerns regarding Vienna and her recovery and was reassured both times that what Vienna was expecting was "normal for after a dental" and "give her time to recover". Friday morning Vienna was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and sepsis and needed ICU care to try and stabilize her. When the ICU Dr. called Dr. Kelly's office to discuss Vienna's procedure they were told "Drs are unavailable until Monday. " Sadly, Vienna did not have that much time. Nothing will bring my sweet Vienna back, but I hope her story prevents other pets having to go through what she did. read more

There aren't enough words to brag about these guys. They aren't mobile anymore but when you walk in to check in, they greet you immediately. They're happy to see you and they get your pet back to the back in record time. We neutered a stray cat who has taken up residence in our backyard. He was done in 30 minutes! After he was in recovery for a little while, we were able to get him. Literally took 1 bike from the time we dropped him off picking him up was easy and flawless. No waiting there either. They have to be the most efficient facility I've ever been to. I told my husband as we were leaving after picking him up, that we'd still be waiting to check him in, at any other vet. Disappointed is an understatement. If you care about your pets well being at all I would avoid this place. I was a returning customer and had a good experience the first time. The second time was ... horrific. I recently rescued a 5 year old male unaltered bully mix, I was already nervous about having a surgery preformed on an older dog. When I called to schedule the appointment I told the lady he is 70 pounds , she scheduled appropriately and gave me an approximate price range. Fast forward to time to pick him up. I wait 30+ minutes before he is finally brought out (they called me and said he was ready around 11am) I came around 1pm after work. He came out VISIBLY uncomfortable and in distress, with his legs spread very far apart. His sack was extremely swollen , red and seemed bruised. Apparently he had a hematoma (blood clot) in his sack. - It never ONCE was disclosed to me that this was a high risk for bigger dog breeds. They told me I have two options 1. Ice it and monitor closely and hope it heals 2. pay $240 to remove the sack completely So on top of the $215 I spent on his neuter I now have an additional unexpected cost of $240. Oh and on top of that they cut his nails too short and half of them were bleeding. Of course I made the call to remove the sack completely for the well being of my dog but the problem is it was never disclosed to me that this is supposedly a very common problem in large dog breeds. I also would think they would notice the blood clot before he woke up from surgery and I think that the correct thing to do would call us and ask what we would like to do in this situation rather than have my dog be put under anesthesia AGAIN. Moral of the story be very intentional who you choose to trust your animals with. I understand things happen but this could and should have been disclosed before the surgery as a possibility of happening. read more

Overall I had a positive experience with this vet service. Just FYI in order to book an appointment there is a $40 NONREFUNDABLE fee. The fee does go towards the surgery balance. I booked my appointment online and was later able to speak to a girl in the office before my dog's surgery. I told her that I wanted to confirm with her how much it was going to be upfront and that the pain meds were included. She said it would be $163 and yes the painkiller rx was included. The day of the surgery I dropped off my dog in the morning at 9:15am and I was asked if I wanted to include an IV during surgery for an additional $91 and that it would help my dog with the surgery and recovery. Of course I didn't want my dog to suffer so I said yes. At this point I was expecting a balance of around $220 ($260-40) . I received a call at 11:50am that the surgery went well and that my dog had an odd shaped uterus but nothing to be too concerned about and that I could come pick her up in an hour. When I got there they told me the balance was $375. As you can imagine I was a lil surprised since that's not what I was told. Quickly we found out that they had added medications that I had declined and that the pain meds (after surgery) are not included as I was lead to believe. The day of surgery the dog receives a painkiller with the anesthesia that is supposed to last the day but that' s it so if you don't want your pet to be in pain afterwards you should add the painkillers ($27). Also they added a fee for the "irregular uterus" of $45 and $37 for antibiotics. I paid it but to this day no one could tell me what the additional undisclosed $45 charge was for. In the end my dog got spayed and she is still alive and nothing went wrong with the surgery from what I can tell so I'm going to call it a win even though the process to get there in my opinion was more complicated then it needed to be. I understand that they are trying to cater to people of all means but the nickel and diming is a bit much and I would have preferred to be quoted one price that just included everything. With that being said it was still cheaper than had I gone to our normal vet so I think it's a good affordable option. read more

Took my dog in for dental work and it went very well. Ended up being a larger quantity of tooth removal than expected but I was contacted prior and kept updated step by step. I will never go back here. The staff that I dealt with had no bedside manner and kept misgendering my cat EVEN WHEN THEY WERE WORKING ON HER. Wth?!?! They call me and says 'your cat has not been cooperative while trying to do her dental'. She's a cat. She's scared. Should this be something they're prepared for?!? They then say they're doing a lot of extractions and reiterate she's not doing well under anesthesia. This cat who they can't bother to remember the gender of or properly sedate is my emotional support animal for ptsd. Giving them permission to touch her was absolutely traumatizing for me and their call made it worst. Go somewhere that will show you and your animal careful attention and compassion. read more

Dr. Kelly herself I did not meet, but her support staff are amazing. Everything from check-in to after surgery care, it's amazing what they are doing for our surrounding community to help save $$ on the high cost of care. My dog by our nearby vet estimated between $2300-$2800 and that didn't include the nose biopsy. The total out the door with the additional nose biopsy came to $1070. It included the surgery to have a lipoma removed, surgeon, staff, elizabethan collar, IV, pain meds, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory meds as well. Though they don't operate as a mobile surgical team anymore, they now have 3 offices, North Phx, Mesa and Peoria. We took our dog to Peoria, and as an 8 yr old, he is not up to speed yet 24hrs after yet, I'm confident of the service and follow up care I have needed thus far. We visited the west valley location. We had our two golden retrievers neutered there. Very friendly staff; very helpful and comforting throughout the booking, intake and discharge process. We had an 8:45 am arrival time and our boys were ready for pickup by 12:15pm. You cannot beat their prices. Our primary vet was triple the cost for neutering. They also offer add-on services like nail trimming, ear cleaning, vaccines, IV fluid and several others. I cannot recommend Dr. Kelly's enough. My only suggestion would be to call to book if you are trying to book multiple pets in one visit. Otherwise the online portal worked well for our first dog. read more

So, took my cat for spay and vaccination. I'm happy with the service and pricing, but after they got paid then nothing. When they returned my cat, they returned her in a dog carrier...a hard cage type thing. My friend picked her up for me and didn't know that that carrier was not mine. I contacted them and they said that they would get my cat's carrier back for me or refund me for my carrier, which was a nice soft carrier. I recently inherited my mom's dog after her passing. The dog is 2 years old and was her companion. I brought it home and realized she never neutered him. I started asking around and Dr Kelly's keep coming up as a recommendation. I found them and booked an appointment online! Easy! I was quoted, in writing, a price ($271) for dental cleaning, that stated eveything was included. When I got there I was told that at that location it is required to have an IV catheter for an additional charge. I balked at that but let them take her back to get a further quote. When they brought Maggie back to me, the quote was for $1350 for a 6lb 4 yr old chihuahua. I am furious. I even showed them the email I received and was told that I was misquoted and that there was nothing to do about it.
