We had an awesome experience here! My boyfriend got a cheeseburger with a decent sized portion of fries, then next thing we know here comes the server with another side of fries because she said he didn't have enough. Additionally, our friend ordered ginger ale and we informed that they didn't have any because their delivery didn't make it in. That's fine, we understand. Then here she comes with a glass of ginger ale because they sent someone to the store to buy him ginger ale!!!! Whenever we can't think of anywhere to go we never get disappointed by Kelly's and we really appreciate how kind their servers are and how comfortable the atmosphere is. Kelly's is visually unappealing outside and in, but a smiling face and quick bite make it worth at least visiting once. Especially if you don't want to go grocery shopping at Food Lion on an empty stomach! Helpful and friendly service without bordering insincerity made this quick visit surprisingly pleasant. Kelly's is the type of place you look at and wonder why Gordon Ramsay hasn't barged in attempting to shed light upon a Kitchen Nightmare. Slightly outdated and dismal, driving by on Laskin provides little proof on whether they are open or not since no windows face the road. For pub food, Kelly's checks out appropriately. Their fries are hand cut and also offered in sweet potato. A veggie burger on the menu makes me a happy camper. Unfortunately, for an "irish tavern," the beer selection was not only minimal, but alarming. Upon asking what the Sam Adams Seasonal was, I was not just shocked to find out it was not Alpine Spring in early March, but disgusted to find out it was still Octoberfest. Sam Adams buys unused beer back, so I'm not sure what bar manager would argue this is a pro move. I'd still recommend Kelly's for a quick, no frills lunch since Just George's isn't open until later. read more

This place has been my go to bar for 15 years! I love coming here and the atmosphere is so fun. The food is great. I recommend the fish and chips, Shepherds pie, and for late night I love the steak bites. I'll always come back and I love this place. They have something for everyone. You can play pool, darts, and the slot machines. But also up until (I'd say 10pm)it's still a good family atmosphere where you can take the family for dinner for so good food. Many staff have worked there for years which is a good sign of management. I'll keep coming back!! read more

The crab dip is amazing! The quesadilla was good too. The pool room was sooo smokey that after about 2 hrs in there I Ifelt nauseas. They need better ventilation or something. There wasn't even that many people in there. But all that being said I did have fun. The juke box was another cool part pf the bar part of this restraunt. It just wasn't loud enough. I've passed this location frequently while going to the bank, decided to try it. We'll never go back again. Our server was friendly and seated us quickly, brought drinks and order timely, but what we ordered was bland food that you tolerate at your grandmothers house because there is nothing else to eat. I had the walnut and cranberry chicken salad wrap- which had sparce of those on the side: my companion ordered the philly cheese steak, it was dry, and then he got the white bean soup - which was bland and had a hair in it. Ordered the Tuna Rockefeller and it was absolutely gross. The tuna was over-cooked (though I asked for medium), dry, and bland. The broccoli that came as a side was equally dry and without a hint of seasoning. I sent the food back and got the Ground Round instead and that was even worse. Think public school cafeteria food. I have been to Kelly's for drinks at night before with friends and it was pretty fun. But today I went for lunch. It was disgusting! The She Crab Soup was just a can of Cream of Mushroom soup with chunks of frozen crabmeat thrown in, and Old Bay sprinkled on top. The Caesar wrap was very plain and tasteless. I believe the chicken was also frozen because it was so dry. I do not recommend going to eat food here. I've been visiting this Kelly's for a couple weeks now as I'm new to this area of VB I have tried other Kelly's locations and let me tell you they do not compare when it comes to food quality or service. I brought in a couple of my friends in and promptly was greeted at the door by who would end up being our server , I believe her name was Leila but I lost my receipt to fact check that! We ordered 4 trash cans and the nachos to start and WOW the nachos were bigger than my head, drinks were amazing and service was stellar ! We all ordered different burgers I got the fried egg, and everything was perfect I wish I had gotten a picture! I could tell my server was busy and probably a little stressed out, but our drinks never went empty and she wore a smile the entire time. The bartenders were both just as friendly (if not more) and seemed to really enjoy what they're doing! Overall I recommend everyone to Kelly's and will continue my weekly visits, even with them being shorted staff because of covid this is still my favorite local bar by far! Went here March 3rd, spoke to a young woman about a song that was just playing and ended up assaulted by the two bouncers working, one of which happened to be the jealous boyfriend. Why would you have your girlfriend drink at your place of work and why the owner allows it are beyond reason. I informed them that I was notifying the authorities and they decided to add an extra drink to my tab. I love this place so much, the first place i ever liked a burger. It's been remodeled recently so there is no smoke smell anymore. The servers are so friendly and the bartender is amazing. Went there on a Wednesday night with my family on a whim at around 630. We were greeted by an empty hostess stand and the smell of old cigarettes. The dining room from what I could see was completely empty but the bar seemed rather busy. It gave the impression that nobody eats here anymore. After a few minutes of standing at the door we were greeted and taken to a table. The menus and tables felt like they have been wiping them down with soda. We ordered a few sandwiches and fries. The food came out pretty fast and my burger was cooked perfectly. Normally whenever I order a burger somewhere they cook it well done no matter what I say so to have a burger that was actually cooked medium that I didn't have to cook myself was great. I also thought the girl who waited on us did a fantastic job. She was very polite and checked in on us often. In closing Kelly's gives the impression of a place that is treading water off of alcohol sales and the fact that people can smoke in there to their hearts content. Came here for a friends birthday dinner. Started off with drinks which took awhile to arrive. My friend ordered a green beer but had to settle with Miller Lite as the only green beer option. I ordered a blueberry lemonade made with the blue label Red Bull and Deep Eddie Lemon Vodka. It arrived so long after I ordered it I almost forgot I had even placed the order. The apps we got were the pickle fries which were really good and the pretzel which was so-so. The beer cheese had a layer of hardened cheese on the top which wasn't appetizing. I got a veggie burger made like a flamothrower and tots. Both were really good and the veggie burger was a nice size. Everyone else enjoyed their food also. The worst part of the night was the horrible smell that either came off the floor or the wall. Our server was friendly. The prices were also a little pricey for bar food but overall good place I'm sure to drink and hang with friends. read more

My girl and I visited this place for the first time in a while and I wish we hadn't. It was eight o'clock at night and the restaurant was empty except the shitty bar full of middle aged people dressed like teens. I had to walk around to find someone to seat us who just so happens to be the same server that was outside smoking when we pulled in only to sit at a table with no light. Not little to no light but literally no light! It was unplugged. Our server was more interested in hanging with his friends then attending to us which is no surprise because four or five employees still in uniform were pounding shots at the bar with the manager. After waiting thirty minutes for dry shitty burgers with no water, tastless bloody mary and a warm beer we decided to leave, I asked for the manager, that's when he was pointed out to be the guy in the bar drinking so I approached him and he put the responsibility on the server to handle the problem who had no idea what to do. Left without paying and will never return. What a joke! I've been in the service industry for eighteen years and can be critical but this by far was just piss poor management. went to have dinner at Kelly's in Chesapeake Great Bridge location on August 26, 2017, we arrived just prior to 5 pm when they start serving their buffet. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside to enjoy our dinner, our waitress was Deanna, and I have to say she was great. We had NO problems with Deanna, however we checked 3 different times to see that the buffet was ready for service. NOT sure what the manager was doing to get the foods out on time, but she was obviously NOT doing her job. First trip to buffet nothing was out, 2nd trip about 30 minutes later (530 pm) and they had a few items out, our 3rd trip to the buffet at (605) wasn't much better. The staff was still setting up, there was food out, but again not ALL of it, there were NO serving utensils on ANY of the trays. The table set up for dishes had ONLY 6 plates on it, and they were ALL DIRTY!! Our waitress said she would send the Manager to our table to speak with us regarding the buffet. We waited about 30 minutes for her arrival, finally a woman, (not sure who she was), as she failed to introduce herself as the manager. Finally the buffet was ready, yet we had to ask someone for CLEAN PLATES. The food was hot and very good, however the timing was way off. When your menu states buffet starts at 5 pm, and is NOT ready for customers until well after 6 pm, there is obviously a problem with Management. We were NOT the only customers that were waiting for the buffet to be ready, and we had to ask for condiments for the seafood, as they were NOT put out. We will try Kelly's in Great Bridge again, to see if they have their priorities in line, but not sure if we will go a 3rd time. Thank you Deanna for your service. To the Manager, when you greet your customers, please introduce yourself and attempt to apologize for any issues that might be occurring. You were actually acting as though nothing was wrong. We were at NO time rude or insensitive to anyone, just wanting to enjoy our meal. FYI they were in NO way busy during that time period.
