Scotty Quixx West is a local sports bar in a busy shopping center in Virginia Beach. We stopped into Scotty Quixx to grab a drink before finishing our errands. Upon walking into the bar you can instantly tell this is a local dive. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks and a chicken quesadilla. The service was good! Scotty's offers a full bar with fair prices. The food was good and quality that I expected. I would return if I found myself in this part of Virginia Beach again, it's a bit cramped inside but it adds to the local feel and I can tell this would be a great place to watch a sporting event! read more

I really had no intentions of putting Scotty Quixx West on my list to try. That was until one of the biggest foodies in Hampton Roads said I should. So a week after that discussion with a friend I was enjoying a brew and wings over Happy Hour. They have a few locations, so keep that in mind. Plentiful surface parking is in front and overflow not far away. I found the lot clear of debris and the walk up tidy. The signage is challenging from Virginia Beach Blvd. However, you can see the bright red umbrellas and NFL flags on their deck. It was an incredible early Fall day with late afternoon sun and low humidity to enjoy the outdoor patio. I went inside and the joint was rocking and packed at 530. The bar is just feet from the door of this tiny working mans bar. I'm guessing around 10 can saddle up to the counter with a few small tables just off the bar. The kitchen is to the right with minimal seating. Scottys is sports themed watering hole and they had at least one TV that I recall. A female waitress quickly asked what I was drinking. I asked for a menu and went over Happy Hour specials which change a bit everyday. The wings sounded good, but were not on special. I ordered a dozen double grilled Garlic Parmesan with ranch and a Devils Backbone Vienna Lager. They have a few on tap, but don't expect much if your a craft beer nerd. I headed to the patio with beer in hand. The patio is perfect square built out and onto the parking lot. Wood tables and benches accommodate problem 30, or so sitting. More can stand. This is also the smoking area, so be aware if you have an issue with smoke fumes. Some men came out and lit it up beside me unfortunately. The language was a colorful as well. So be warned if bringing kids on both accounts, which I really would not. The wings were out in less than 25 minutes and visually looked stunning. The legs were huge and meaty. The taste matched as I took that first bite and tugged away at the meat. The amount of garlic parmesan was perfect and not greasy. The nice size tub of ranch was appreciated for dunking those puppy's deep. Of course the pairing with a brew was spectacular. Follow up occurred by the waitress within minutes. I will come back and try more off the menu. I've heard too many good things now that I've asked around and peeked at other reviewers. This is a dive bar you must have on your list if you've never tried. I bet you will be back too! read more

We visited this spot because of some friends that suggested it. Unfortunately, we caught it on a bad day. The air wasn't working properly which made it quite muggy inside and my food was burnt. They took it back immediately but unfortunately it took three times to get it right (and they admitted it). Once it was fixed, it was quite tasty. On the bright side, it has a cool vibe overall. It's small and definitely a local neighborhood spot with a great selection of brews. I know the food is decent and worth another visit but for this particular moment, it wasn't so great. A very small sports bar with decent pub grub. Several TV's line the crowded walls and there really isn't much room for moving about, but if you're looking for a decent bite and you want to watch the game while tossing back some clear beers, then Scotty's is the place. I had a chicken burrito and the thing was massive. 16 inch burrito? Loaded with chicken and rice and cheese. Very tasty and a major amount of food. With it, I just got a can of PBR because why not? I don't know if I'd return - this place isn't really my style - but it's good for what it is. read more

We moved to the neighborhood in August and have been to SQW at least 6 times. I've been hesitant to review them because I want to selfishly keep it to myself! It's the type of place you'd call "the bar" and all your friends would know where you're going. We order something different every time and have never been disappointed. The quality of food is high, the cost is low, and the staff make you feel at home. The food is exceptional and the drinks are always on time. This is not a fancy place, it's not a hipster joint serving dank quadruple-IPA's, and it's not a smoky dive... it's the perfect balance of quality and character. Dave likes coming here when ever he's feeling like having fish tacos and a nice cold beer. We have been here several times but I have never wrote a review until now. It's not far from VB town center. This nice low key spot is family friendly and has several TVs which is sure to have your favorite team and we have watched some football games here. They have plenty of yummy appetizers/food and a full bar. They also have a nice outdoor patio. We usually opt to sit at the bar. If you visit here you have to try their fish tacos. So yummy!! Stopped in around 5pm, wasn't too busy just seemed like the regulars were there. There aren't a lot of seats inside if you are looking for somewhere to sit and just eat. It was raining so we couldn't sit out on the patio. Tried the Buffalo chicken spuds on chips and it was delicious, very heavy on the jalapeños but they aren't too spicy. Everyone was friendly, will probably be back but not during busy hours because I know this place is probably very loud when it is crowded and there would be no space to move. read more

Ive been to this location 5-10 times in the past two months. I love the atmosphere get some good folk and some weirdos that come thru there. The Buffalo chicken tater tots are fireeeee. Bartenders are very attentive. Definitely going again for a football Sunday. I love spicy food and they have the best assortment of hot sauces I've seen in a restaurant. My favorite is CaJohn's Black Cherry Vanilla hot sauce. Straight fire. Definitely be back ASAP. Oh last time i was there i had the burrito bowl, very tasty couldn't even finish it. What an awesome little place. It's small but it's so neat. Don't let the outside fool you. It looks like it's half ass from Virginia Beach Blvd but when walking in I was impressed. Far from being your traditional sandwich shop or bar the place appears overdecorated with TVs and crazy cut outs of sports signs. While my initial thought when walking in was that the place was stuffy I saw character of a cool sports bar that was...well different. Everywhere you turned there was a TV. You wouldn't think that the place was full of TVs but it was. They were hidden through their crazy decor that it was like trying to find Waldo but super easy. You look at a wall to check out their interior design and low and behold, you were looking at a TV; with sports on to catch up on yesterday's action. The place has bar seating, apparently a deck and maybe 7 or 8 seats throughout the restaurant. I like that they are able to open windows for fresh air on a nice day (like today). From all the bottles I saw it looked like they had a full service bar. A very kind lady served me and my business partner for lunch. She was the only one serving tables and with the restaurant with 20+ patrons she sure did one helluva of a job taking care of everyone. She was quick, yet kind and personable, and was attentive to everyone's needs. I ordered the gyro with fries for lunch. It was your typical bar food menu but this was a pretty decent sandwich. It wasn't so special that I'm dying to go back but it was better than your average bar. I'm curious to see what this place is like during a live professional sports game. This place is by far our favorite, most unpretentious, BEST FOOD, awesome service, COZY, have to visit at least once a week, little 'hole in wall" that will ever exist! Tucked away in a little strip mall you'd never know it was there until that special day when you walk in and you feel like you're at home; the good side of home lol. Hustle & bustle from the service to the one man/woman open kitchen; the food is made to order & served up w a smile & a COLD libations. BEST French Dip EVER; so much so it makes it hard to order anything else, but when you do it always tops it's competitors! Caters to ALL walks of life...whether you're still suited up from your office job or have had a crappy day and basically show up in your pajamas; no one cares much less judges! You OWN this place when you're there & are made to feel as such; special. Owners are the cutest & most hard working couple in the industry, meaning they not only own it, they RUN it; doing every job that is hands on from the bottom up & all w a smile & a greeting by name when you arrive. My only (personal) wish is that I could reserve where I want to sit bc that's just how I am, but sometimes not getting what I want is for the best! LOL This mini place packs 'em in & you WILL share a table if need be therefore meeting new people. BTW it's a FULL ON SPORTS BAR w all the amenities of which are pretty damn impressive for such a small place. Makes the 'competition' that much more fun! There's not too much to say about SQ's except that the food it delicious, the service is quick and the drinks are cheap! Space wise they are still a small establishment so you need to try to belly up on the patio if you'd like some air. TVs everywhere on the patio too should you have a Sports Team to root for or chose to play Trivia. I love almost everything about Quixx, especially the quesadillas & happy hour specials. read more

Scotty Quixx is back and better than ever. I eat here all the time. They have a great new menu with tacos, burritos, all the classic hot sandwiches wraps, salads. I deffinately recomend stopping on for a quick lunch. Ths place is great. A deck is the perfect place to get a quick dinner and some before going home. Beer soon to be served? I can't wait. This is the worst food i have ever ate in my My life. I got the surf and turf burger and not even 30 minutes later I felt so sick. Thay crab meat they used and burger meat were low quality but I tried to give it a chance. Never again will I order food from this place. Though the driver a nice guy and I enjoyed the service. This is my husband and my first time ever eating at Scotty Quixx West and I must say the food is good. We ordered takeout. We got the redskin burger, chicken burrito and the chicken tenders kids meal. The burger is thick and juicy and the pulled pork and coleslaw were great additives. It's too much for me to finish on my own. The chicken tenders were perfect for our little one. The burrito on the other hand tastes like it's lacking something. Hubby said it was okay, but I didn't care for it too much. Overall we would eat from there again and we will try other items. read more
