This was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a service company. I always give credit where it's due and write plenty of positive reviews, but this company earned the opposite. I requested a closer ETA so I could be available for the appointment. Instead, there was no courtesy call or text to say they were on their way. They showed up unannounced, blew up my phone, and repeatedly rang my doorbell while I was on a work call. By the time I responded and let them know I was on my way, they told me they had already left. When I tried to calmly discuss the situation, they took it as "arguing" and responded in an extremely condescending and combative tone, even making a veiled threat about my choice of words. They then claimed they would be charging me a "no-show" fee, despite failing to provide the basic courtesy of letting me know they were arriving. I have worked with many companies in this field and have never encountered such unprofessionalism, rudeness, and lack of respect for a customer's time. I would never recommend this company to anyone. There are far better businesses out there that value their clients, communicate clearly, and conduct themselves with professionalism. read more

I want to preface this review with the following: First, there are decent people at this company. The receptionist, Emily, and the service tech, Omar, are very nice and I want to believe that they care. Secondly, I want to preface this saying that this was all for service that was under warranty, so I won't be able to review their pricing, since the cost to me was nothing but my time. I initially had an issue where my Speed Queen washing machine would not power on. I did all easy checks (breaker, plug, etc) and decided to call Speed Queen since the machine was still under warranty. They assigned me to Kemper Appliance. They initially came out quite quickly and diagnosed the issue as the control board. They ordered that part, which I am aware is a specialty part requiring a week to arrive. So, the part arrived the following Monday and their tech replaced it quickly in about 15 minutes. The tech left and we proceeded to do laundry the next day (Tuesday). At this point, we immediately noticed that when filling, the machine would make a loud screeching sound and stop mid-cycle, leaving clothes with soap on them and the machine reporting a fill error. I called on Wednesday morning and expressed my concerns that had the tech merely run a cycle, he would have heard the valves immediately and spoke to the owner, who said I would receive a call back to schedule. No call came. I called back on Friday to inquire and they told me that I was on schedule for Monday, even though I was not given this time. Incidentally the time was fine with me. I expressed my frustration to Emily, who was very understanding, and she said she would reach out to the owner, Soumya, who would reach back out to me. In my business, when we mess up a customer's order, they get put to the top of the pile and other customers have to wait. It's uncomfortable to explain to our customers, but it's the price we pay when we make a mistake. In this case, the tech did not test the machine beyond powering it on. The owner disputes this, but I was there for the duration of the service call, and a cycle is longer than the service call duration, so it is impossible that it was tested. Soumya never calls me back and instead I get another call from Emily instructing me to email Soumya. I take the time to write an email to put my concerns into a format acceptable to her. Keep in mind, nothing is on Yelp at this point and I am hoping to get this resolved amicably. She responds to my email basically taking no responsibility and alleging a test was done and that new issues can arise. I understand new issues arise. I would have understood if they said they needed to get more parts after finding the next issue. The problem is that we had almost another week of delay because they did not test and were not willing to own up to their mistake and get me scheduled quickly. She even tells me I can contact Speed Queen to get another servicer, but obviously, since it is Friday, no one will come sooner than Monday anyway. So, the tech comes out on Monday and takes another look and decides to order a valve. This takes another week. Now, I would argue that this is a less-specialized part that should have been on-hand since they are an authorized servicer, but I will let that slide since they're a small company and at this point, what can you do? After the part arrives, they schedule me for the following Tuesday to replace the valve. All seems good. We do some more laundry and now, only hot water will dispense even if we run it on cold. I check our water pressures and water heater temperature before calling again on a Friday. I assume we have all of this past us when I call and ask if they will come again. Emily speaks with the owner and they say to her that they will call Speed Queen on Monday to get me another servicer. Bear in mind, Speed Queen is still open and I say to them that they should call today to get this resolved quickly. I think if Kemper had been more respectful of my time, the least they could do is call that day to get another servicer. But no, that's too much for them. So I say that I would appreciate they call today or else I would call Speed Queen and explain the service issues that I have had with them and that I would request an alternate servicer myself. Emily says she will talk to the owners. At this point, if the owners had just called me and apologized, this could have resolved everything. But they have so much ego that they can't bring themselves to speak to a customer. So, the receptionist calls me back and says that they will not call Speed Queen today or Monday and that I am free to leave whatever feedback I like. So, with their blessing, I present this review to you all. I gave this company many opportunities to the right thing. I understood new issues popped up. What I can't abide is them not respecting my time and not owning their mistakes. This review could have been avoided so easily. read more

Ring camera footage and phone records clearly show your team arrived at my property at approximately 10:55 a.m. and left at 11:05 a.m. The last call attempt from your team was at 11:05, they left at 11:07. No one called at 10:55 as you claimed. The first call was at 11:01 & last at 11:05. I responded via text at 11:18 a.m., not "30 minutes later," and was on a work call at the time. I also requested in advance that you provide a closer timeframe than "between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m." and to call ahead before arrival, yet this was disregarded. Your choice to call me "entitled," make personal remarks, and speak in a condescending tone only reinforces my point about the lack of professionalism I experienced. My property management never made the statements you are attributing to them, in fact, they apologized to me for the way this situation was handled. I also have text messages showing per my initial review that it was your team who initiated threats and told me to "be careful" with my words, which is inappropriate and unprofessional. This experience is exactly why I would not recommend your company and why I stand by my review. Misrepresenting the facts to deflect responsibility is not how professional businesses should handle customer feedback. I contacted Kemper Appliance to help with a warranty repair on a Danby beverage refrigerator. It was a small job to simply replace a defective fan and Kemper was great to work with. From the initial call, in-person inspection and final replacement, the process was seamless. Everyone on the Kemper team was pleasant to work with and had great communication. Our "Newer" washing machine went out and we called B&B appliance to check it out. It needed a new "Mother Board" for $600 plus labor. We hated this newer machine because it met all the guidelines from the Fed. Government. Couldn't adjust water level, couldn't adjust water temp, Cycles with double rinse were limited. And the damned lid locked making it almost impossible to conveniently add anything once the cycle was started. So I looked online and found Kemper Appliances on Enterprise in Escondido. I called and talked to Omar and told him I wanted an older (pre-2019) top of the line "used" Kenmore and he said they had one that had just come in. He quoted me $350 for the used machine with a 90 day warranty. I ran right over and met the other people in the shop and was impressed with their friendliness. The machine needed cleaning up... but had all the features we wanted. (None of the government mandated crap). They charge $150 for delivery and pick up and we signed up. Right on schedule Omar delivered the new machine and carefully removed our old one. The new one is fantastic. We have all of the old manual settings we missed and the machine is super quiet and does a great job. Recommend these people highly. Excellent service, fair pricing, and friendly. I called Kemper and spoke with Bob about my washer which was displaying an error code. I thought the washer was 10 years old and he recommended we buy a new washer essentially turning away business. He then spent some time going over recommendations for washers that would meet my needs. He doesn't sell washers that I know of. He never offered to sell me one. I was very impressed by his integrity. It turned out the our washer is only 7 years old. I emailed him pictures of the serial number and receipt. He responded within an hour with an appointment within just a couple of days. They actually called to move up the appointment so they ended up coming in two days. Omar was at our house at the beginning of the time slot they gave us. He was able to fix the washer for $100 less than we were originally quoted. He was a delightful person cheerfully petting my overly friendly pups that wanted his attention. He was in and out in less than a half hour. I would highly recommend Kemper. One of the owners, Miguel, came out and had the whole thing done in twenty minutes, despite the fact that he had to walk a long way from the parking lot through my complex carrying a full size appliance. Well we finally came to the realization that who cares if your washer looks fantastic, but sucks at what it does. We had a samsung front loader that started to have a couple issues so I walked into Kemper and said if you were going to buy something for your own house what would you buy? Without hesitation he told me a "speed queen!" I answered with "what the heck is a speed queen?" He then explained that most of what I saw in commercial laundry rooms were speed Queens. He then proceeded to let me ask several techs in the back the same question. Everyone of them said speed queen. The only negatives they mentioned would be that we would see them less and moving then sucks because they are USA made and all metal. So even though I knew I could get more miles out of the washer (not afraid to fix it myself) I decided why spend another day on you tube and 2+ hrs waiting for a cycle to be done? Long story now medium length... I decided to buy them on the spot when I saw that they were significantly cheaper than top of the line mainstream brands. They look like the ones mom used to use back in the 80's with a fresh coat of paint and a digital interface, but my wife said I don't care what they look like as long as they do a better job at the laundry. So 1800 bucks for the set and with a Craigslist deal on the old ones I'm well under 1500. If these things last half the time they are rated for (25yrs) it's a no brainer. Wife did 4 loads the first night in the time it took to do one in the other machine. Really appreciate the staff over at Kemper who could have sold me something fancy for more money upfront and in service calls, but put me in the machine they know from experience is the least likely to give me problems. I got a guy in the appliance business now! I'm not going anywhere else! Bought at 2pm and delivered the next morning, leveled and ready to go. These guys are serious about over delivering! read more

Would give them negative stars!! Most incompetent and dishonorable appliance repair store I have ever dealt with or heard of. Bob the owner uses a so called Senior Technician called Thomas who was unable to figure out how to fix a burner. We were without cook-top for several weeks and were told how many hours had been spent and parts replaced... it was returned in a worse condition with another burner not working normally. We called in another repair service and the young technician diagnosed problem in 3 minutes and came back with replacement and fixed it in 5 minutes. Bob responded to my inquiry on a Sunday and took the time to walk me through the issue with my washer. Upon diagnosis, it turned out my 15-month old LG washer has a design flaw that caused the pulsator plate to come off by itself. Given that it would take some time to get LG's warranty to cover the repair, Bob offered to order me the parts while I waited to hear from LG. The parts arrived after 3 days. Bob sent a nice gentleman to repair my washer and didn't ask for an upfront payment. A week later LG finally approved my warranty request and honored the payment. Jenn-air sent someone out and would fix it for 2,500. However tbe repairman had no clue how to fix it. So we were without our main fridge for 3 years. The new owners (Bobby and Veronica) of this appliance store are wonderful people. They went above and beyond to gain our business and trust. My wife and I purchased a dryer from Kemper appliance a year ago from the previous owners. Even though the warranty had expired, to my delight Bobby and Veronica worked with us and upgraded our dryer simply for the difference in price. Why is that so cool you might ask? They were not obligated in anyway to do so, nor would I have expected them too, either. To our surprise Bobby said pick out whatever dryer you want and we will exchange it. In my opinion, coming from a background with years of customer service, when a customer comes in an hour before your website says you close, the 'Open' sign is still on, and the door is unlocked, it should be your duty to help that customer instead of saying you have somewhere to be and to hurry up if they want something. Who would think you could give appliance repair 5 stars? Totally warranted. From first communication through repair, everything was fast, clear, upfront and no surprises. Diagnostic done in 2 days and repairs in less than a week (with parts to be ordered and a weekend intervening). Although out of warranty on our very young LG washer, a pretty involved repair came in under estimate - I don't know how you can do any better than that (you can't). Bob & team is A1, go to, so don't hesitate. Plus, you can support a true local business and not a nameless, faceless "warranty repair" company that doesn't understand the phrase "customer service." While Kemper never really did any work on me, I give them a 1 star based on the fact that they never replied to my calls. I called twice and spoke with a woman. I left a message for the tech since I was told that he was busy with a customer. I waited all day and in the afternoon called again and was told that he went home sick, but would be back the next day and give me a call. 3 days later, I'm waiting. At this point, I've moved on. My dryer stopped working, and I called Kemper Appliance to come check out the problem and I could not be more happy with the awesome service I received. Not only did they have someone at my house the same day to check out the dryer. But they offered to take it to their shop and fix it and return it to me next day. Assuming it was just a belt that broke, they would have it fixed right away. Turns out it was a belt and I had my dryer back the very next day.
