Let me first address the one review stating that the Chelsea has a predatory process. While I completely understand the frustrations of the paperwork and the entire process you have to go through, It's not predatory. Every facility requires this. I know because my brother and I visited 5 facilities, and this is the process. I do wish it had been simpler, but it never made me feel like it was predatory. The staff at the Chelsea are all wonderful. I am there all the time, as I am a freelance makeup artist running my own business, and make my own schedule. The Chelsea is ten minutes from me so it's easy for me to stop by often, and my dad likes my presence. I also did not want a facility that was too far from me or my brother who lives in NYC. He can easily take the train from GCT to the very close by Hartsdale train station. In our search for an assisted living facility it was important that not only did it have good care, but that it be aesthetically pleasing, and that the staff be friendly, caring and attentive. I have gotten to become so friendly with the staff. The staff is always around, helpful and kind. I am so especially fond of Franchesca, who did our tours, as I went alone initially, and came back with my brother. She is literally one of my most favorite humans on the face of the earth. The most kind, caring and genuine souls out there! The Chelsea's decor is beautiful! So modern and visually alluring. There were some growing pains in the beginning with the move and transition, but it's going to happen no matter where your loved one ends up. Management has always made the time to discuss any issues or concerns and offer resolutions. I know we made the right choice with the Chelsea. There are also tons of great restaurants, shopping and activities in the area to do with your loved one when you visit. Our dad likes the food here and the daily menus always looks appealing. They are also trying new offsite activities for the residents and are open to feedback. You can bring your beloved pet as long as you can safely manage him/her. My dad has his 9 year old labradoodle here, and she is the star of the Chelsea! Everyone loves her. Last year was a big process of change with our fathers new life and his early stage dementia. This isn't easy at all. If you drink alcohol, you will probably drink a lot more. As stressful as it is managing your loved ones life and finances, I can go to sleep knowing our dad is safe and not burning the house down because he forgot to turn the stove off. Go visit the Chelsea!!

We met with the sales director, had a wonderful tour, we found everything to be beautiful, well maintained, clean and the staff was charming and caring. We needed to have asked what percent of the residents have memory problems or dementia,as a majority of the residents did. My mom is sharp & vibrant , she had a limited number of people with whom she could engage, converse and do stuff with. Between that and not wanting to live in an aging body, she was less interested in in longevity, nor did she wish to live any longer. Over the last weeks of her life, she was able to visit with everybody in her family, the entire care team was incredibly supportive. We had a wonderful hospice team and the entire staff at Atria was so caring and embracing.

For example, Seba drove 3 hrs round trip in traffic to visit my parents, brought them culturally appropriate food and spoke w/ them for hours. Without this visit, despite my dad's cancer and mom's dementia, there would have been no way my parents would have agreed to move out of their house. My dad's care was very demanding due to his late stage cancer. My mom's dementia necessitates quite a bit of hand holding, and the Atria's driver, Dino, coordinated most of their doctors appointment. Enza, the sales director, went out of her way to help my family through this difficult time. The key part is that my parents both felt like they had their independence which translated to their happiness. Due to the small community, the staff and tenants became like family and we still keep in touch months after my mom moved out. Some of the staff and tenants still calls my mom to see how she's doing. My mom looks back very fondly of her time at this Atria.

Within moments, a team of five professionals were already attending to her. I was completely overwhelmed--in the best way--by their professionalism and kindness. I couldn't stop crying, not from fear, but from joy and relief, knowing my mom was finally in a safe and caring environment. Just prior to this, my mom had been at another facility for less than an hour, where absolutely nothing was done. We brought her back home because it was clear she wasn't receiving the care she needed. The contrast with The Grove has been night and day. In just 12 days at The Grove, we have already had an in-person care team meeting. Together, we agreed that my mom should see a specialist physician. The meeting was yesterday at 1:00 PM--and by this morning, I had already received a call with an update confirming that the physician had seen her. If that isn't true care, I don't know what is. Do not hesitate to bring your loved one here. They will be fully taken care of with patience, compassion, and dignity. And just as importantly, the family members are also supported and treated with kindness. We will forever be grateful. A concerning one to say the least…read more I received a song and dance noting how they strive for excellence and their top priority is the care of all patients. Their response asked that I contact them privately. Hell no!! Look at your 1 star ratings - there are so many - it will keep you reading for awhile. the information shared on the ratings is enough to make change if you wanted. My review is nothing new. Again , this place is a disgrace and no one should place a love one there. This is not just me or other families. A doctor from a hospital spoke to staff after the grove caused the patient a trip to the er which resulted in deterioration of the patient. After getting off the phone the doctor turned to me and was in disbelief noting the lack of knowledge and how grossly unprofessional the medical staff member was. I cannot stress enough how god awful the Grove is. If you want untrained, unprofessional and quite frankly unqualified individuals caring for your loved ones , you find your place.
