At this point I am not going to review the services offered by Hebrew Home. I am giving it 1 star…read morebased on the following. When your loved one is placed at Hebrew Home, whatever benefits your loved one is receiving goes to the nursing home (this is understandable). Hebrew Home will then place a $50.00 monthly allowance into a "personal account" for the resident for things such as haircuts, or for the purchase of other items/necessities that may be available through different vendors. BEWARE: In the event that your loved one passes away DO NOT attempt to claim any existing/leftover funds from your loved ones "personal account" directly from Hebrew Home. DO NOT tell Hebrew Home that the funeral has been fully paid for as they will send the funds from that "personal account" to the Public Administrator. Have the funeral home send an invoice to Hebrew Home and then have the funds distributed to you. When I tried to recover the funds from my loved ones "personal account", Hebrew Home told me that "by law" those funds had to be returned to The Office of The Public Administrator. Personally, I believe that "law" was designed to appropriate those funds. I now believe that this law was designed so that the city/county/municipality/state can stay with your loved ones money. Hebrew Home will never tell you this, but I will and I have. BEWARE....Where the law exists the trap or trick exists!!!

This is my mother's fourth stay here following various hospitalizations and surgical procedures. Each and every time, we have been so impressed with the care and compassion she has received from the dedicated staff. At 81 years old, having a broken hip is very discouraging to a patient. However, the staff provided just the right amount of empathy and encouragement to our mother to get her committed to the rehab program so that she could go home and live independently again. The good news is she just returned home and now she can use a walker and other adaptive devices in her home to take care of herself. The environment at The Hebrew Home is more than just a rehab facility. The staff over communicated and kept our family up-to-date on Mom's rehab plan and progress. Beyond the staff, the entire facility and grounds are beautiful and provide multiple areas for our family and our Mom to get a needed break from the rigors of rehab. We could take her to the living room to visit with us, outside to the patio to enjoy a sunny day or for a walk along the trail that led to a gazebo by the Hudson River We are eternally grateful to The Hebrew Home and the staff for making this possible. While she was at The Hebrew Home, Mom felt safe and cared for and when we visited we saw first hand the amazing care that she received. We want to share our positive experiences with this facility.

She was placed on a physical therapy unit for a while where certain nursing staff were absolutely rough with a terrible attitude. Then she was placed on the 7th floor where the Nursing staff on the second shift had bad attitude. Being my Mom was a new patient you would have thought they would welcome her and her family. We had to introduce ourselves to them and they still weren't friendly. This floor in particular was infested with roaches. The roaches was climbing everywhere because one patient was hoarding a bunch of papers. The floors were dirty, and barely swept. Behind the beds hasn't been touched in quite some time. Not a sanitary place, and it doesn't matter what floor your on. The next day my Mom was placed on the 6th floor. Everyone was very warm and inviting. The first and second shift staff were the most loving people. Especially, Lorraine, Pattie, Rudy, M&M, Angela the young lady that works side by side with Pattie. ( so sorry I can't remember her name) We were assigned to a casework name Jade. I talked to this young lady twice in 3 months, that's how many times she was reachable. She seemed inviting to get us in the door and then she became a ghost. I did have the pleasure of meeting Sonia R., another caseworker who was very compassionate and concerned about my moms well being. She called me as soon as she heard about my moms passing. She should be in charge of the social workers, she has the drive and the passion to make sure all is well. I still haven't heard a word from Jade. Not a condolence, a email or a simple phone call. I do not recommend putting a family member in this facility. Thank you to those that really care about our love ones. Respectfully, Harris Family

My grandmother has been a resident here for several years, and in that time, we've faced consistent issues with the staff's attitude and treatment of our family. Visits have often felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, as the staff has repeatedly been rude and unaccommodating. They've even made my mother feel threatened by bringing up family disputes rather than focusing on my grandmother's care. Because of internal family tensions--my aunt holds guardianship and is not supportive of family visits--the nursing home has enforced her wishes to an extreme. We've been denied even the chance to celebrate my grandmother's 95th birthday in a common area. It's as if the home finds it easier to side with convenience rather than advocate for a 95-year-old resident's dignity. We've also witnessed serious neglect. My grandmother has been left lying on a mattress on the floor, undressed, for hours. When we've requested basic care like a diaper change, we've waited six, seven, even eight hours with no action, met only with eye-rolling and dismissive excuses. To make matters worse, the nursing home helped ban my cousin--my grandmother's own granddaughter--based on a false accusation simply because she advocated for better care. When my cousin tried to visit for my grandmother's birthday, she was humiliated by a face-scanner alarm that blocked her entry. This is the extent to which the home and my aunt have gone to keep family away, making my grandmother's life even more isolated and miserable. Lastly, be aware that this facility has changed its name multiple times to hide poor reviews and a troubled history. They're renovating the exterior to look more upscale and attract new clients, but the fundamental problems remain. The staff's lack of compassion and the poor quality of care are still the same. It's not about the building; it's about the people they employ, and that makes this place truly unacceptable for anyone's loved one. The 3rd floor are the gates of HELL. The nurses here are pure EVIL!! Very few really care or do a good job. The head nurse (Daniella?) is the Devil's ring leader! Horrible horrible human beings. Go read all the reviews on Goog.le don't believe the fake and paid for 4-5 star reviews. Go read the one star reviews. This has been going on for years!! Nothing changes no matter how many times they change the name or apply another coat of paint on the building. The people the employ are HORRIBLE!!
