    They sell EVERYTHING!!!
    Sabrina C.

When drunkness calls. That should totally be the title of my life after 1am if I'm out. I went to a beer tasting, got the munchies and on my way back home ended up here with friends, who were equally inebriated. The menu is totally overwhelming. Which sucks when you're vision is already blurry and everything at that point in your life seems like the most important decision you'll ever make!!! However, I ordered a turkey burger and fries. While waiting I glanced at everything they have behind the bullet proof glass, lol, and they sell EVERYTHING from condoms, to skittles, to chips, to alka seltzer! It's the funniest thing ever, but it works. While waiting, I decided to see if I could get some cheese put on some flammin hots. Yup. That happened. Got home and stuffed my face. Not the best, but not the worst; it did it's job.

It's good some days, depends on the cook. I'm definitely a reoccurring customer though.

    Chicken philly

I went back to try the chicken philly. It tasted better than the steak philly. Once agian, it smelled good & looked good, but could've tasted better. Personally they didn't cut the meat into smaller pieces. Left the meat in big chunks, onions and bell peppers were also cut into big chunks....not cool in my book. Don't waste your time or money on this sandwhich. I could be wrong, but I think their using the wrong bread for a philly sandwhich. Italian beef bread for a philly sandwhich, I thought they use different bread for those sandwhiches.

Very good food, also prices on yelp are not accurate, so when you order something expect it to be cheaper

They season and prepare the food perfectly. It's never overcooked and the veggies are also steamed perfectly. I usually get the 1lb crab leg and 1lb crawfish with an extra 1lb of crawfish with Cajun seasoning. They never disappoint it's delicious every single time I order. I've also tried their oysters mussels and lobster... never fails... it's delicious. Only thing is they changed the butter, it's now this oily greasy butter sauce that's not good. I explained that it needed to be separate due that the larger order is for someone who is allergic to shellfish. The guy at the counter ensures that he understands. I return to pickup my order and notice one larger container and ask where is the lobster tail? Initially he seems confused and then asks the cook. Turns out it is inside with the salmon. WTH. He apologized and immediately removed it. He swore that it was cooked separate and with the different seasoning. Here is my mistake I should of insisted on a new order. Got home and the lobster tail was indeed made with a separate seasoning BUT the salmon was obviously cooked with some shellfish. I presume shrimp. Upon serving it, I noticed there were small 3 flakes on the bottom of the fish. This is unacceptable and potentially could of been life threatening. I tried to check out a new location but I will stick to the location on 61 or 87th. If you have to go, check your food and check again.

I would definitely go back again! - insalata di Bietole - 5*/5 so yummy - with beets, ricotta salata, honey, toasted almonds, and apple cider vinegar dressing. Wish I knew how to recreate this! - brussels sprouts - 5*/5 these are hands down the best brussels sprouts my dining partner and I have ever had, and we've both had a lot of brussels sprouts. We asked and they said they deep fry them (!) - pappardelle al Sugo di Cinghiale - 5*/5, delicious pasta dish, and a huge portion, I was so sad I was in town for work and leaving the next day so couldn't take it to go :( My dining partner had the fish of the day and she really enjoyed it too - we both agreed this was one of the best Italian restaurants we'd ever been to and would come back again if we could!

It was packed with ppl during ~1:30pm, but we were lucky enough to get a seat at patio. We tried the following dishes: 1. Caesar Salad with Chicken: A huge plate of salad. The greens were quite fresh, and the seasoning was just standard Caesar salad style. We added a side of grilled chicken (about 6oz raw weight), and the meat wasn't dry at all. 2. Rigatoni alla Vodka with Meatball: A very large plate of pasta. The sauce is tomato and cream-based, and the flavor profile is quite mild. The pasta was perfectly al dente. It came with some Parmesan sprinkled on top, and I later asked the food runner to grate a bit more cheese for me. I also added one huge meatball and it was good as well. There were also some dark leafy greens in the pasta, but I wasn't entirely sure what they were. 3. Side of Bagel: We originally wanted a basket of complimentary starter bread, like sourdough, ciabatta, or focaccia. To our surprise, the restaurant didn't have any, so we had to order a side of bagel for $4... Overall, the food we ordered was delicious, and the portion size was quite geneous. The service, however, was mediocre. We waited a long time to order and to pay the bill, which almost made me miss my flight... I tried to make eye contact with our server, useless. But what really made me annoyed was that, when I was about to pay the bill he tried to select the tipping percentage for me?? So I ended up with only 10% tip. This then made him angry and said to us "We are in America you should behave well". Due to this, I may not dine in again -- after all, Chicago does not lack good Italian restaurants!

I'm glad that I did. We were greeted upon arrival, and seated shortly thereafter. Our server, David came over and spoke to us about the menu selections. We were extremely satisfied with his service. I was truly impressed with Lou, who I assume was operating in a managerial capacity. He went from table to table checking in with the guests to find out if anything was needed. He removed plates of finished food from tables, and even explained the desert options to us. Well done. The food was delicious! I usually have to add salt to my food. I did not have to add anything here. The food was perfectly seasoned. We all enjoyed our choices. I would highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

We arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled reservation, but we were seated within five minutes of arriving. The server, David, greeted us promptly when we were seated. He mentioned that if you're ordering appetizers, they should be ordered with the main meal. While we looked over the menu, water was offered. I ordered Blackened Catfish over brown rice and carrots. The catfish was tender and perfectly seasoned. My brother had grilled flounder with creamed corn. Like the catfish, the trout was tender and well-seasoned. The corn had a slight sweetness. Roger had Short ribs and mashed potatoes. The ribs were tender and did not need any sauce because they were seasoned well. We also ordered a side dish of Macaroni and Cheese. It was delicious! A mixture of Gouda cheese and other cheeses. Very creamy! The top layer cheese was baked perfectly! If you know, you know, it's all about the top layer of cheese The APPETIZERS: The Gumbo was spicy but delicious! You only taste the spice at the end . It's not overly spicy; it's just right. The fried chicken gizzards were tender but could have used a bit more seasoning. It was served over brown rice and gravy. If I'm not mistaken, there were maybe 8 or 9 gizzards. The fried green tomatoes were perfect! From the seasoning to the grilled shrimp on top. Oh yes, grilled shrimp with this delicious sauce drizzled over the tomatoes. 3 or 4 shrimp. They were delicious! I've never had fried green tomatoes served w/grilled shrimp--definitely a must-try if you've never had it. For dessert, pineapple upside-down cake with coconut cream on the side. It was soooo good! They could have removed the coconut cream, as it was not needed. And it was a shareable portion for 2-3 ppl. There were other desserts, such as Blueberry Cobbler, Key Lime Pie, and Vanilla Ice Cream. If you're in the Hyde Park area, give these folks a try Oh yeah, the Manager, Louis, was walking the floor. I spoke with him briefly From what I observed, it's a very casual dress code--jeans, shorts, blazers, etc. And I loved the quotes on the outside window of those who were killed, like George Floyd and Sandra Bland. This place was nice! The dining area was clean and decorated nicely. The choice of decor fit the overall scheme I look forward to visiting again, possibly next Spring.

Sambal catfish with Cole slaw and cavitappi noodles in cheese sauce. The fish and cole slaw were very tasty. The noodles were okay. Koren Fried Chicken with pickles, corn bread, mash potatoes and gravy. The chicken was fried hard, it was a whole chicken but it was just okay in flavor. The pickle was a little weird. Mashed potatoes and gravy while I suspect they are powdered potatoes were decent on flavor. Pass on the corn bread. Lobster rangoon was pretty good. Honey Chipotle wings had a tasty sweet sauce. Fried green tomatoes was inedible, the green was too green leaving them hard, difficult to slice and bitter so we sent them back. Service was excellent, they took them away without a word and didn't charge us. Saigon noodles, best bite of the night! Tender beef, flavorful sauce, scallions and perfectly cooked noodles. Yum. Shrimp spring rolls. Just okay. Quesibirria eggrolls with tomato basil sauce, second best bite of the night. Tender meat, innovative sauce. Perfect eggroll shell. Grenada 9, spring fever, hibiscus margarita, all tasty! Lastly, there was a band. It was too loud (taking away from the dining experience especially with the acoustic feedback) and because my mother told me when you have nothing good to say, dont say anything, I'll stop there.
