After researching their inventory online, I went to the dealership to look at the cars and talk with a salesperson. I explained exactly what terms I was looking for for which car (I had already done the calculations FOR THIS DEALERSHIP online). The general manager called out from his office that what I wanted couldn't happen. Of course he was not privy to the whole interaction I had with the salesman, or he would have known I had a Mazda trade in. When I told him that, he made a comment about how t that could make a difference. (Duh.) He seemed very discouraging, and I believe it has something to do with the fact that I am a woman, not a man, that knows my business. I actually witnessed the same a year earlier when I brought my car in for service. A woman was looking and he basically told her if she didn't have at least 5k down, there was nothing there for her. I have purchased 7 new cars by myself, for myself, in my lifetime. I know the routine. So anyway I will be trying Art Hill now and not returning to this dealership. read more

We needed a second key for our 2010 Mazda6. The car was at it's limit of keys allowed, so the computer had to be reset to accept a new key, which we bought at a local key maker. I called 3 Mazda dealerships close to me, including this one, and all 3 told me it would be $60 to reprogram, and $20 to cut it. Very specific estimates that all matched, including this dealer. The key was already cut, so it should have been $60. My wife proceeded to take the car here, and after a few minutes, they came out and told her, all of a sudden they can't do it for the estimate, and it would take "a lot more" to get it done. She agreed (not knowing what else to do), and when they were done, they charged her $150!!!!! I can understand being told a job will take a lot longer than estimated if there's a corroded bolt that breaks off and has to be dug out, or something like that, but this is a standard job done on a computer that I'm sure the service department has dealt with many times, given the uniformity of the estimates and the age of this car. I'm sure this wasn't the first time this service dept has performed this job, which is why all the different service depts were exactly the same in their estimates. If the technician is somehow struggling to get this to work this time (for some odd reason - it's odd b/c if they had had problems with this situation before, I would think they would have told us that before bringing the car in rather than surprising my wife with it once the car was there), that shouldn't be a reason to charge 2 1/2 times the estimate for such a basic job! That's something that should have been absorbed by the dealership if they ever wanted to see us there again. I'm not sure if this is a case of a woman being taken advantage of, or if they would have tried this with me too. I like my Mazda, and I will probably replace it with another one. But not from here because of this. read more

If I could give Kennedy Mazda zero stars I would. Please be aware when you buy a new car from them they include a new car paint protector. It is called glass coat by Simoniz Glass. They will tell you that all new cars have this and you have no choice but to purchase it with your new car because it's already on there, it cost $1750. They tell you that if something should happen to the paint if you spill something on it or any stains get on the car that it will be covered under this Warranty. We bought our car from Kennedy Mazda, October 2022 and January 2024 our car was parked in a parking garage, that day there was heavy rain and a hard water type substance dripped all over our car, it looked like bird poop on the car that wouldn't wash off. I brought the car to Kennedy Mazda, their service manager, Damian Thomas told me it would be covered under the warranty. I filed a claim with Simoniz but they refused to even look at our car, they said the warranty only covers bird poop and hard water stains. I said this is a hard water stain. He said they don't cover this kind of hard water stain and he refused to answer my question about why this hard water stain is different and how can they say this stain is not covered especially since they never looked at the car, they only went by a picture that I sent. They said it wasn't covered and I needed to contact Mazda. I have no idea if the product they sell works the issue we have is that you can't use the warranty they refused to even look at the car and Mazda lied to us and said it was a no-fault warranty, they told us that we can use it anytime for any reason no questions asked. We requested a refund for the warranty since clearly we can't use it. At first they refused, but then said they would talk to corporate and get back to us but we haven't heard back from them. After several months of getting the runaround from Mazda my husband ended up doing some research. He found a household product that cost under $10 that removes hard water stains. We fixed the car on our own so this warranty is useless. We believe it is a scam. We continue to get the runaround from Kennedy Mazda asking for our money back for this useless warranty. We don't know what else to do so I have filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau on Simoniz Glass Coat and Kennedy Mazda. We are moving forward with contacting the news and doing whatever we can do to help bring awareness to this obvious scam. This might not be a lot of money but I can't help to think about how many people are being scammed by this and Kennedy Mazda knows it and they are doing nothing about it. I believe they're still selling this bogus warranty to their customers. read more

honestly cannot say enough great things about my experience at Kennedy. I have purchased three cars in four years, and my experience at Kennedy was better than any other dealer I purchased from. I worked with John to purchase my Mazda CX-5. I went into the dealer unsure of what I really wanted and needed. John spent time with me to help me get what I was comfortable with and what fit into my budget. He did not try to up-sell me or convince me to purchase a newer vehicle. John spent quite a bit of time with me over the course of the day, and was always respectful and friendly. I had my eight year old son who is a true car enthusiast with me, and John chatted with him made my son feel important rather than just another kid at a car dealership. The finance manager was easy to work with and made signing a stack of paperwork a breeze. He chatted with my husband and I as well as our son through out the process. I never felt like I was an inconvenience even though they were just about to close. He answered all of our questions and explained each document as we signed them. I have never had someone in finance at a dealership take this much time to explain the process. It really put us at ease and reinforced our decision to purchase from Kennedy. After everything was signed John stayed back and went over the details inside the car. He made sure I understood how to open the gas tank, work all of the necessary controls, and even paired my phone to the Bluetooth! Before we left with our vehicle John even let my son check out his Miada. It was the highlight of his day. He has told everyone about it. Everyone at Kennedy went above and beyond to make my experience the very best. I felt comfortable and cared for through the entire interaction from initial test drive to driving off of the lot with my car. I will never buy a car anywhere else. Found the car I wanted, at the price I wanted, and bought it. During the negotiation I mentioned that the car did not have floor mats in it, and was told they would get some for me. I didn't think I needed to get that in writing before signing. This was on a Saturday, and the guy that knew where they are doesn't work weekends. Monday rolls around and the manager tells me that they won't give me floor mats because I didn't have it explicitly written in the contract. I had the pleasure to work with John Moore from Kennedy Mazda. My situation was not a typical car buying situation. I was looking for a Mazda 6 online and found one at Kennedy Mazda. (I live in Naperville, IL which is about 75 miles away). I called about the car but unfortunately it was sold. When I spoke with John he told me they were going to have some similar ones coming in. Thinking it was just something car dealers say, I didn't think much of it. The next day John calls and tells me of the a similar Mazda 6 that came in. This car has less miles than the one I originally inquired about and was in my exact price range. John Moore took time to send pictures to me because of the distance, he followed up with me, and even worked with my schedule to find a time to come in. We had everything in place so I got there and just worked on paper work. Now there are places that sell Mazdas and other car dealerships but this one has a personal touch. -I found a decent used Honda online and made an appointment to check it out. The man who showed me the car had never seen it before and didn't have anything to say about it, other than to point out how shiny the tires were. -I liked the car, but shifting gears felt a little strange (it's an automatic.) I was assured they knew about it and had already ordered a part. -I schedule an appointment to buy the car a week later. The salesman spent half the time making jokes and telling me stories about his family. -I buy the car and the key-fob doesn't work anymore. I wait for 20 minutes while a mechanic tries to fix it, but he says it needs a new battery. He says he'll order a new one and I can pick it up in a week. I ask about the transmission acting strange and he assures me it'd been fixed. -I drive the car home (I live about 45 minutes away.) There wasn't enough gas in the tank to get me home. -Less than a week later, the transmission completely gives out (the car stalling and hesitating wildly whenever it shifted gears.) The dealership says they'll take care of it. They give me a replacement car to use. The repair takes the better part of a week. -The key fob they ordered eventually comes in (much longer than expected.) the dealership says they weren't able to sync it up with the car, so I'll have to make an appointment with a Honda dealership to have it synced there. I double check that Kennedy Mazda will pay for it. The head mechanic at Kennedy Mazda shrugs his shoulders and says "maybe." -After I complain a bit and make a few phone calls, they agree to cover the costs, but it was still a tremendous waste of time. -Less than 2 months later, the air conditioner died. -Less than 3 months later, I get an oil change and my regular mechanics say the wheels are horribly out of alignment. -The best thing I can say about Kennedy Mazda is that the younger woman working there was very nice and polite, but she was just a receptionist. -I advise people to steer clear of this place. I had a miserably experience, was treated with a complete lack of respect, and I'd recommend going anywhere else. read more

Horrible service and incompetent service team. We bought our Mazda CX5 and returned shortly thereafter with concerns about noises coming from our front brakes. Meghan Krull (rude & arrogant about her past experience at Nissan?!?) and her service team looked at our brakes and deemed the front to be at 5mm, and the back brakes needed to be replaced (which they only paid for half). We explained the concern was from the front and they simply sent us on our way. We went for a second opinion at Continental Mazda and a third opinion at Autobarn Mazda which BOTH said the front brakes needed to be replaced. Meghan Krull dismissed our concerns. Autobarn Mazda reached out to Mazda Corporate for us and had the front brakes AND rotors changed at no cost to us. The left inner front brake pad was at 0mm and the right inner front brake pad was at 2mm (must be 5mm to be Certified Pre-Owned which the car was). DO NOT BUY FROM HERE AND DEFINITELY DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE as the team does not understand that there are both inner and outer brake pads to each wheel, and they definitely don't have any conflict resolution skills or customer service skills. read more

beware !!! shady dealership !!! dishonest people !!! this dealership kennedy mazda tells you what you want to hear to get your sell...our salesman was extremely nice & we were up front with him, did not want a vehicle if it would not pull a camper (not a pop up camper either), specifically asked him at least three times or more "what is the maximum towing capacity on this vehicle" ?? i told him i didn't want to trade my vehicle in that was four years newer, 40,000 less miles & $115.00 less in monthly payment if this yukon would not pull a camper...we were told this gmc yukon would pull up to 8900 lbs., would be great for what we wanted it for...so, we traded...what a huge mistake for we had a car that wouldn't pull a camper that i loved to now having a gmc yukon that won't pull the camper of 6400 dry weight, gross max. weight 7600, below the weight we were told by kennedy mazda dealership...low & behold to our surprise this gmc yukon's max, weight is 5200 lbs. definitely far off from what we were told by the salesman...he is very apologetic although apologetic doesn't pull the camper nor fix this problem of lying to us...extremely discouraging on our behalf for one of kennedy mazda dealership's manager (rick) was like this isn't our companies problem, we sold you the vehicle, it is a done deal...you should have checked this out before purchasing the vehicle..sad, that you can't believe their car salesman & kennedy mazda will not stand behind what their employee tells customer's...there are to many decent car dealerships around the valparaiso, indiana area i would suggest going to rather than this dealership where they are not honest or stand behind what they sell !!! one surrounding dealership told us they should buy back this vehicle since they gave the wrong information to sell it, this manager (rick) doesn't even return phone calls like he says he's going to do after talking to the salesman & owner...another story told by a manager this time...i wouldn't recommend this kennedy mazda dealership to anyone to buy a vehicle from at this point a time...will post in the future if this company stands up to what they sell & what their employees tell people...beware folks, sad to say !!! read more
