I'm sad to say that Kennedy Plaza is actually Scaryville. It's totally a shame, as it's quite lovely and, seeing as it's abutted by a beautiful park and one of the most charming streets in Providence, quite the loss. You see, Kennedy Plaza is in all seriousness the place you should not go at night. It's scary and dangerous. There are even strong men in uniforms stationed there in case you need to be there for some reason. They're there to protect you! Busses run in and out of Kennedy Plaza, so if you're there during the day for a quick transfer or to walk a few blocks, then you're fine. This just isn't the place you want to set up in for a picnic or wait to meet up with friends. There are people there who are dangerous or less than savory - you catch my drift. The architecture surrounding the plaza is quite gorgeous - some of the most iconic in the city, actually and really impressive and it should be seen if you're visiting the city. Just don't hang around here after dark or by yourself.

When you arrive to Providence your like nice! And once you step foot in Kennedy Plaza you just loose hope for humanity.

It is also close to shopping and restaurants. The neighborhood has improved significantly since the Orange Line got here but it's still up and coming so you'll need to watch your surroundings carefully as you would in any big city. Jackson Square is fully handicapped accessible with an elevator from street level (which is where the ticketing concourse is located) down to the platform level. They do have an escalator but it's up only, which is mildly annoying. Audible and visual announcements of the next train tell you when you need to get ready to head towards Oak Grove or Forest HIlls. Jackson Square is between Stony Brook (outbound) and Roxbury Crossing (inbound).

I always wish that they'd do a better job with the signage and directions in the MBTA stations, but this one is fairly simple and straight-forward. They have an escalator and elevator to help you to the platform. I do enjoy the fact that this stop has lots of public works of art, from paintings knocking off Warhol, to some foreign, exotic looking art and some brass faces. The cool thing about this place is that there's a free linear park/playground/gym right behind this place, which makes it a great place to hang out. Unfortunately, there are no public restrooms here.

The five of us were all in agreement we wanted lobster rolls for lunch at Seaport. As for sightseeing we decided to head down to Faneuil Hall and walk part of the Freedom Trail. From the Embassy Suites by Hilton at Boston Logan airport it was less than 10 minutes to Airport station. We cut through the park and headed to the station on foot. Standing at the ticket machine we were trying to decide how many rides we wanted to buy. Fortunately there was a MBTA agent on hand. He suggested we buy a one day unlimited Charlie card for $11.00. We each purchased one. Then we took the blue line to get to Faneuil Hall. Later we also took the SL3 to get to Seaport from Airport station. The Charlie Card was perfect. And every driver we encountered was friendly and very helpful.
