I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to let others know how excellent the standard of care is at Columbia River Endodontics. From the first moment I called to make my appointment I was made to feel at ease. There is a certain amount of anxiety (for me anyway) when thinking about dental work, the expense and insurance coverage there is a bit overwhelming. The front desk was extremely helpful making my apt and verifying my insurance and telling me up front what my patient portion would be. The day of my appointment I was greeted with a smile and seated promptly. I was quickly introduced to Dr Hatch. He explained what a root canal was and why I needed one. Dr Hatch let me know right away that I was the boss and if I needed anything during treatment to let him know. The assistants seemed very knowledge and friendly. I never once felt rushed through my appointment. I felt like the focus was completely on me. After my root canal Dr Hatch gave me his personal cell phone number for after hours if I had any questions or concerns. I didn't need it but the comfort in knowing I could call if I did was reassuring. What was even more surprising is that I was from out of town and the office gave me a gas card to help with my return home! The next day the office called me to see how I was doing (who does this anymore?). From the moment of my first call to the follow up call after my visit was seamless. Last week, I searched for a specialist to take care of a "simmering" abyss. Obviously, root canals are no fun and after talking with one local specialist with their "take or leave it" attitude, I was thinking about skipping the procedure until I moved back to Wisconsin in the fall. But then I discovered Columbia River Endodontics. Just thirty seconds into my first call to their office and I knew this was the place I wanted to go: the stress of calling to get prices vanished and in no time, we were laughing. Considering what I was facing, I still found myself looking forward to the visit. I wasn't disappointed. The staff was not only friendly, but welcoming. Dr. Hatch's assistants were focused and competent, but never stopped fussing about my comfort. Dr. Hatch is precise and meticulous, and also made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I had a tooth with an existing root canal in it and it was re-abscessed. I was seen at Columbia River Endo where Dr. Hatch examined my tooth and did a 3D scan. It was really cool to see what it showed in the scan, he was very clear in his explanation of what was going on and how he can treat my tooth. When I went in to office the entire staff made me feel very welcome. Prior to starting my procedure, the assistant asked if I needed anything and then Dr. Hatch offered me a protein shake. I felt fine and declined. During the procedure I was very comfortable, I nearly fell asleep. There was good music playing and the doctor checked several times throughout the appointment to make sure I was comfortable and was doing ok. At the end of the appointment I was offered a protein shake again because it was lunch time and I was numb and would not be able to eat for a while, I gladly accepted. I just moved here from Las Vegas. I was super sad about leaving my previous Endodontics office (poor genetics) because I always left knowing my issues had been taken care of. I moved. Enter needing, yet another, root canal. I'm so glad I got the referral to here to Columbia River Endodontics. The front staff was very welcoming, offered water and coffee. The assistant got in into the room fast, and was pleasant to chat with. Dr. Hatch showed me my x-rays and explained everything so I could understand, and also showed compassion for my worries. I hardly had any pain during the procedure, and walked out feeling assured that if I had anymore concerns I could call and they would take care of it. Went to Garth Hatch on a referral from my dentist. I had never had a root canal but one night of agony and torture was enough for me to toss in the towel. Had no idea what to expect but based on the pain I had already experienced, I figured new years weekend was a wrap. I'll make it short, I didn't feel any of the shots he gave me to numb my mouth, I put the sun glasses on and closed my eyes and not once did I feel any of those chain saws, drills or other torture tools that I heard him fumbling with, ha. Obviously kidding about tools but I experienced no pain or disscofmort from beginning to end. I wrote this review because I've been asked if I can "grin and bear it for a few more minutes" one too many times by dentists in tri cities. read more

Where do I start!! I haven't had the best luck with my teeth, so I have had to come to this office a few times. Thank goodness they were there! Every visit starts with friendly service as soon as you walk in. The staff are great, cheerful, and friendly. They know their stuff, and ensuring your comfort while getting the job done efficiently and effectively has been obvious in each visit. The root canals themselves were virtually painless while I got to just lay back and watch some shows and relax. Dr Hatch is hands down one of the best!! I will and do refer him to everyone I know!! He does his research to offer the best care and offers such great advice for what to expect when I go home. read more

I am very impressed with the quality of care I received here. I was very nervous going in for my very first root canal. The front office was very nice and was able to get me in for an appointment very quickly. Dr. Dawson and his assistant are awesome! They made me very comfortable and talked to me throughout the entire procedure. I even laughed, I was that comfortable and relaxed! I give them 5 stars! I'd give them more stars if it were an option! I am pain free now and I still have my tooth! Root canals are no longer scary! I highly recommend this office, I couldn't be more pleased with how gentle they were and my end result! Since 2012, I have been a patient of Dr. Hatch and most recently a patient of Dr. Dawson. They are awesome endodontists. Everytime, I come in for a root canal, Dr. Hatch or Dr. Dawson eases my nerves and makes root canals gentle. Their dental assistants are awesome, too, in making root canals gentle. I always feel that I am in good hands. They strive to make my visit a comfortable experience. I would highly recommend anyone go to Dr. Hatch and Dr. Dawson for root canals. After my regular dentist had attempted a root canal and it just wasn't working, it was my very back molar, he referred me to Dr. Garth at Columbia River Endotontics. After the initial consultation I was impressed with the staff and they had answered all my questions about the procedure. When I went back for my root canal the same friendly staff greated me and handled my care. They made me as comfortable as possible and the whole process was painless. Dr Hatch was a miracle worker. I had a tooth that had been bothering me for months. I felt nothing while he worked on it, hardly felt numb when I left, and by the next day my tooth had no problem with cold, hot, or anything else. It felt good as new. I was majorly impressed, as I've had a root canal done before by someone else, and the experience was very different. I waited for about 2 minutes, and then they called me back. Going to the dentist for me is like pulling teeth. Pun intended. Still not my favorite thing. So when I need some special dental work, I am not happy.
