I sent a message, received a response within an hour and was told to bring in my son. I was a little skeptical at first; being a woman of color & having terrible experiences in the past... When we got there, Vo remembered who I was and told me to come back as there was another person ahead of me. I was so thankful that he was able to squeeze my son in without an appointment. (we had been driving around for about an hour looking for other barbers). Vo explained how he would fix my son's haircut, lined him up, and offered suggestions for the next haircut. My man Vo is the real deal. This guy can cut hair with the best of them. He works fast , but you would never know. His attention to detail is spot on , and he will not let you leave you his shop unsatisfied. I usually go with a low 0 fade, with a side part comb-over. He fades really well, and has a comfortable shaver if you want to get the sides as close to skin as possible. Saturdays are busy! I usually get there by 9:00 -9:30 am , and he is 3-4 deep. However , I can guarantee you that your cut will be worth the wait. My only small complaint is the lack of a straight rayzor for a smooth line-up. Ken's Barber Shop was fantastic. Let me preface that I have not gotten a haircut since February due to quarantine. My hair was way overgrown. I was looking like a brown Tarzan! Temperature was taken upon arrival, and barber wore protective gear. 2 masks, face shield, and gloves. He even sanitized his work area and clippers. Horrible scheduling!!!! Messaged the night prior; he tells me there are no appointments on Sat and then all of a sudden on Saturday...he accepts appointments!!!! The best barber in Roseville. He was busy when we walked up, he had five people ahead of us but he gave us the option of coming back or staying. We opted to stay and we hung out for about an hour. Totally worth it. I've been to a few barbershops and salons for my son and it's either they don't get the cut right or they charge too much. This guy was perfect. I had seen this place on yelp and the amazing reviews it got. Vo is the barber here and he is absolutely incredible. The place where the barber shop is located looks a bit sketch on the outside, but don't let that turn you away. The inside of his barber shop has a very home-y feeling to it and he loves to chat with you. My hair is a pain in the ass to correctly cut because it's thick and doesnt cooperate at all. He was able to perfectly trim my hair on top while giving a perfect fade on the sides/back. On top of giving an incredible cut, he was very fast. While he was very good with his haircutting skills, he made sure to check in with me at many times during the haircut to see if I was happy with the length/way he cut it. He would adjust it perfectly if I wanted it shorter. On top of that, he would make a good effort to wipe/blowdry the tiny hair pieces off of my head and face after each section of my hair was cut. He was always very attentive to how you were feeling during the haircut. I will be coming back all the time to this place. It was a long drive there for me from Davis, but it was worth. read more

It's Monday. And if you've looked for a good Barber on a Monday--good luck....so there I was looking for a "barber" shop to cut my hair instead of going to another chain. Came across Ken's Barber and Salon here on Yelp and read all the positive reviews. Decided to give this a shot based on what others have said. As I pulled into the parking lot, I saw the big sign above the door--this is NOT Ken's. Luckily for me...I looked to my left and there was Ken's Barber...10 ft away. No wait. Vo, the name of the barber (Ken's son) was a gentleman. Very polite and friendly. He even has a few pictures hanging up on the wall above the mirror on the latest men's styles to give you some ideas--if you don't know what you're looking for, I'm guessing Vo is the man to help point you in the right direction--just as he did with me. Great hair cut at a very fair price. What else is there to say. BTW, it is on the very corner of Judah and Douglas and it faces Douglas. As of today, the cut is $10. Try to beat that. read more
