I called and was told to go the website to book an appointment and I did so for Sunday Feb 22 at 1:00 pm. I received an email confirmation and everything. When I arrived for my appointment the barbershop was closed and no one answered the phone when I called multiple times. I noticed later on Yelp that their hours say closed Sundays. If that's the case, then why was I given multiple time slots on their website on Sunday to book an appointment? Waste of my time. Very unprofessional. I won't be returning here. read more

My partner goes here and specifically goes to JDee. I walked into the place and it's a little hole in the wall Barbara shop in Roseville that you'd have to know to know. The vibe is immaculate and clearly gives a family type space. There is tons of seating available around so if you have a little one they can sit for a moment while you get cut. Also makes for great wife seating (tested and approved). It's clear that the folks here care about their art/work and we were met with smiles across the board when we entered and exited. I will highly recommend anybody in the Roseville area to get a line up here, I'm not sure there's a better place in the area! read more

Another thing I don't like to do is look for new barber shops. My son couldn't make it to our regular spot this month so we took a gamble and it was a great experience. Called 30 minutes before we could be there and we had someone willing to take a last minute appointment. We get there and Barber J was busy so instead of having us wait the owner Rondol cut my sons hair. I thought that was cool because instead of worrying about the money they worried about the customer. His hair cut was perfect and we didn't have a complaint from start to finish. The atmosphere is a thing I very much look for in a barber and this place has a good one. It just has the feel, the chatter, and the smell of what you would think a barber shop would look like. I think you will have a great experience from most of them but if you want just ask for Rondol and you will be good. read more

I am very particular about my hair, to say the least, so I did a lot of research first and asked around for suggestions. The Gentleman Barber Shop came highly recommended. I stopped in before I made an appointment because I wanted to feel out the vibe. When I showed up everyone was very welcoming and asked if I needed a cut right away. I told them my situation and they totally understood why I was hesitant to jump into a new place. I decided to make an appointment with Joe and I have never looked back. My husband couldn't find a stabled barber to go to & I kept referring him to see Alec who does an amazing job with my son's hair every time. If at any time I felt there was any imperfections to my son's fresh haircut that I wasn't satisfied with, Alec always comes thru to gives us time to fix & make it look even twice as better. It was my first time coming here and I really enjoyed it. I've been to several barber shops and just have not gotten a great haircut. I came in as a walk in and they were welcoming and professional. The place has a great vibe about it. Jayden cut my hair and did a really great job. He also squeezed my wife in for a quick shave on her undercut. I might be the only one who cares about this, but here goes. The good: the haircut was good. I started a half hour late due to overbooking (I'm guessing), but the owner apologized and acknowledged that wasn't the norm. He also discounted the haircut without me asking, so I appreciate that. But here's the thing. If you're going to call yourself "The Gentleman's Barber Shop", you should insist employees behave at a basic professional level. If this was rated like movies, it would be a definite R. I don't take my young children to R rated movies. I had my seven year old daughter with me, and the profanity was loud and nonstop. You can't control the customers, but the employees were really letting it fly. Not even the presence of a child made them clean it up. I realize it's 2023, but not everyone appreciates profanity in public, let alone in a place of business. If you really, truly are trying to present a barbershop in the style of your "grandfather's father", this isn't it. You can have all the barber chairs and the straight razors you want, but one key thing missing (at least when I visited) was our grandfather's father's sense of decency and respect that was common at that time. read more

I have a wedding this weekend and wanted to get a professional haircut. This is my first time going to an actual barbershop in over 20 years. Yhis is the first time somebody else is cutting mh hair in over 18 years. I have been cutting my own hair for over 19 years now and know what i like. I had an appointment with Jay D. I explained that i wanted a low, low fade like almost just a taper. He said he knows what that is and i wanted a slick back cut on top. I thought it wqs going yo be great. I was wrong. This was the exact opposite of what i asked for. The left side was faded like a high fade with some ugly ass arch. The right side was lower but the blend was not good. You could see spots of hair under the fade line. This was not a good experience at all i told my cousin to cancel his appointment and to let me cut his hair myself. I even went home to even out the fade since one side was higher than the other. I should have saved my money and just cut it myself. Do not go here or if you do hold their hand and tell them what you want every step of the way. Waste of my time and money. read more

Do NOT go to Alec! TIME: I went twice, yes twice because the 1st time wasn't "that bad"; definitely NOT what I asked for, but not bad. Not to mention I had a 7am appointment and didn't get in the chair until 8am when he finally arrived. But it was Saturday so I said ok, maybe he had a long Friday night... STYLE: But THIS TIME was TERRIBLE! Like seriously all day I had to stop myself from crying. He pushed my hair line wayyy back band gave me a cut between a high top and no-hawk. The sides weren't faded and my shape up was none existent! I really can't understand what he was thinking but I definitely will NOT be back! CLEANLINESS: The owner was sweeping piles and piles of hair and dust, apparently they haven't swept in a well. There was also tons of trash! They both cut really slow too!
