Even though the lather machine was broken, I had a great experience at a barber for the first tine. I was preparing for a drag show so I needed a close shave and a bald head. My guy did a great job in both areas and I returned for another shave touch yo day of the event. My barber was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Was getting my haircuts at Great Clips which was okay, but needed a nice cut for my wedding. Fausto cleaned it up very well. I could tell based on his style comments how professional and experienced this guy is. The fade job he did was very thorough and impressive. Do not go with the justin and that other xxl guy they do not know anything about hair cuts that is why they turn around the seat to the other side and start butchering your hair. I just walk in and I got a cut with him. His work was terrible. Had to come back to home and go back to another babrber and paid another hair cut. read more

My barber Andrew is one of the best barbers I've ever gone to! I have tried a ton of barbers in the Roseville area in the past, and 1851 Barber Company is really the best in town. Also, their redesign has a cool modern vibe; I really like the new look of the barber shop, new chairs, etc. All the barbers here are great, but I've been going to Andrew for many years now, and he always gives the best haircut. The aesthetic of the place is cool; feels modern and pretty clean. Nice barber chairs. Unfortunately, my haircut left a lot to be desired. Margarita might be good at very basic cuts, but she struggled with my hair. She didn't do well at all with the hard part, faded too high on my head on one side, and left the back looking terrible (I didn't find this out until I got home). The back of my head isn't even a fade; it goes from short to long and is very uneven. The only reason I gave this place two stars is that it feels like a nice shop and the other two barbers seemed to know what they were doing with other customers. Loved the haircut I got, but a bit disappointed in pricing. I came in expecting the military discounted haircut ($25), and told the barber what I wanted. He recommended something else based on my hair type, and I said sure, not a big deal. When I got done and it was time to pay, I got hit with a $45 dollar price, which I wasn't expecting. When asked why I didn't get the $25 military discounted haircut, I was told it was I got a Skin-tight fade. Again, the haircut looks great, but I don't think I'll be coming back if barbers will up-charge you and not tel you until it's time to pay. read more

I made my appointment online which was super easy and then showed up. Fausto cut my hair and was really patient as I had a few questions. 1851 has been my shop since before Covid hit the airways. Fausto has been my barber for few years now and I have been very satisfied with my fades. This shop is diverse and is the most chill and respectful one I've ever been in and I have been to a lot of shops in Northern CA. It's always clean with soft music playing and some sports on the tube. All of the barbers are genuinely friendly and low stress. I love the vibe and the rates don't dig too deep into my wallet like the majority of barber shops but at the same time, 1851 doesn't cut corners on quality. Andrew is as cool as they come and is polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend 1851 but you will have to check it out for yourself. You will be pleased. read more
