I wrote a review about Ken's awhile back and wanted to be sure to follow up. I am a huge proponent for supporting local businesses and after my conversation with Troy this afternoon, I wouldn't want my first review (written out of frustration) to steer anyone away from getting service at this shop. First and foremost, Troy was honest and fair, as well as kind. He was easy to talk to and willing to hear me out. He also rectified the situation right away. We ended on a good note and I told him that I would be happy to bring our business back to their garage. At the end of the day, a little communication and understanding go a long way for all parties involved. I truly appreciate Ken's Garage for just taking a moment to talk through things with me, and in turn, making them right. The business is run by a genuinely good man and good people. read more

Took my truck here to get an issue looked at and to rotate and balance my wheels. They rotated my tires but tire balance was 10x worse. Took it to another shop because i didn't want to deal with kens garage anymore because i paid them $300 and was frustrated.. The other shop ended up having to break a lug nut off because of it previously being over tightened... last person to take my wheels off and back on was at kens garage. The new shop i went to also found that 2 of my hub cap bolts were missing (not missing before i took it to kens garage). And not to mention the inside of my truck was covered in dirt/grease when i picked my truck up. Highly recommend you to not send your vehicle here. Plenty of other options in Leavenworth. I was honestly concerned going to this garage after reading a review and seeing pictures where they charged $290+ to change an Air Filter & Oil Filter. But, I didn't have such experiences. I will say that when it comes to customer service that this garage goes above & beyond. One of the mechanics met me at 6:30AM at the garage before they even opened(so I wouldn't be late) and rode with me to my job and dropped me off and took my vehicle back to be diagnosed. Once they determined the issue, and that it was going to be a lengthy repair. They called and originally said they couldn't get to it today and I stated I would have to bring it back. I informed them it would have to be the following week due to my schedule and my only form of transport, seeing how they dropped me off. They called me back and stated that they would be able to move some things around and get it done that day. They were even willing to pick me up after the repair was complete, but it wasn't necessary as I found a ride back to the garage. So, given all that, they definitely go above and beyond - and the cost of the repair was comparable to other shops. They even brought me what they pulled out of the intake, just to 'show' me what they found. I would say, that hopefully in the future they can renovate the lobby in the future and get more than just two chairs and maybe even a TV. read more

They only get one star because I cannot give zero. They had our car for 5 weeks, they said the timing Belt needed to be replaced. They then said they had to send out a part to a machine shop. We were not kept up to date on the progress, or lack of it. We had a rental car for 5 weeks at our own expense. When the car was ready they never called to tell us. We called and they said we could come get it. Bill was over $3000. Two days after picking it up, it broke down on the interstate and It had to be towed to a dealership, who analyzed the problem and said that it was due to all of the metal shavings that kens garage did not clean out of the oil from the engine work. They also used silicone instead of a gasket to seal a cover. Ken's garage denied culpability. We had the car towed from Topeka with the list that the dealer made of things that had been done wrong. We had to get another rental car, 4 more weeks while getting the repair to fix the original repair. They refused to reimburse us for the rental car. The heat is now not working in the car since the repairs. As I have no more money for rental cars, we will just be cold all winter. (They denied that they broke it). I wouldn't let them work on a tricycle. They are crooked liars. read more

I've held off on getting my car fixed for a couple years now and finally got the chance to take it in to Ken's Garage. Just got my baby back and she drives smooth as ever!! My experience with them was phenomenal! It took them a couple days to go thru every single wire to find out what each and every problem was and I was priced at a pretty reasonable amount. They send me a text of everything that needs to be repaired with pricing and I can accept or deny on the link aaaand pay on there which I did. They can also send you a text message of a quote if you'd like! But I didn't wait for a quote I scheduled an appointment and took my car in. Also, Payment process on my phone was convenient and a breeze!! Customer service is excellent! I am grateful for the help and service received from Ken's team. Already scheduled future appointments to get my baby regularly serviced. If you need your vehicle fixed these guys is where it's at. Kens garage is great. Their alignments are perfect too! I had a 01 Silverado I was getting ready for Lifted Truck Nationals and these guys really got it done for me when I didnt have time to. THE ONLY local shop I will take my truck to. took it in on multiple occasions once for wheel bearings, ball joints and a overheating issue. which they fixed in a day. and another time for a whole transmission swap. I requested a built transmission from a company I thought would be alright and they suggested me another built unit from different company for the same price but with a 3 year warranty, then had my truck done in a couple days and told me to come back if it gave me any issues (which it did not!).. CANNOT beat their customer service At kens! I would bring my trucks back here any time read more

I took my car to Ken's because of vibrations in one tire. I thought I lost a balance weight, but it turned out to be a bent rim (I hit a pothole recently). Ken's service manager discussed options and found a like-new replacement for hundreds less than the dealer wanted for a OEM replacement. Ken's garage is customer friendly, honest and technically competent. I'm very happy with my experience and would use them again for my vehicle. read more

When I drop my truck off to RON I told him I believe my fuel filter needs changing the reason why my truck is not running right well he kept my truck for two days running all kinds of testing on fuel pressurized System in my truck coming to find out all it need it was a dam fuel filter like I had mentioned to him prior before. So he swap out the $40.00 fuel filter and swop out my 3 month old air filter which didn't needed to be change out in my opinion and over charge me $292.53. Changing a fuel filter is a 10 minute job it's right on top easy to access. read more

Dropped off some parts for a routine machine work job. A simple and honest mistake by a technician damaged one of the parts. They easily could have lied about the damage or tried to get out of responsibility. They called me, told me what happened, and made it right by replacing the part at their cost. I will say this, they may not be the cheapest place around, but the quality of work and professionalism is worth every penny.Now don't get me wrong,....they are very reasoniable in cost. Not only did they fix my vehicle within 24 hours...huge bonus...but they also were able to trouble shoot another problem I was having which allowed me to fix it for very cheap. I stand by this review and believe in this shop....a must go when you need to have repairs while attending CGSC or living in teh Fort Leavenworth area. I am planning on bringing my Jeep into them next to fix my oil leak which they already price quoted before I even picked up the other vehicle. Great shop! Bonus to this was I was able to leave my vehicle with them in the morning before they opened and drop my keys in the drop box....hope this review helps others in need. read more

Over the last 10 years I've had all my household cars and potential buys for my children worked on at Ken's. Other shops in the area won't allow you to bring in your own parts but that hasn't been a problem with Ken's. They've even called JEGS and Speedway Motors in reference to parts I've ordered for my classic car. They do quality work and their prices are reasonable compared to other shops in the area that I've used. They've even stored my car for 20+ days while I moved from another state and didn't charge me a storage fee. Who does that nowadays. read more

One of my Military clients recently had their vehicle "repaired" at Kens Garage, for a non-starting condition after alternator and battery failure. They replaced a computer, spark plugs, a distribution coil, and a muffler - which was already replaced six months prior. After the vehicle failed again three months later, it was discovered the head gasket was broken, the truck was leaking oil, and eventually this led the truck to crack the block, totaling the vehicle. During their inspection, they obviously did not thoroughly inspect the engine or the cooling system before prescribing a $3500 in repairs. read more

Took my car here for oil change and alignment. I was told my transmission fluid smelled burnt and need to be flushed. Also I explained to the mechanic and the guy at the desk that something was rattling under my car so they put a screw in my shield guard because it was loose which I showed them where it was loose. Needless to say the rattle was not fixed and they claimed they drove it and didn't hear anything so I was skeptical about taking it back to have the transmission flushed and their prices are a little high. So my husbands co worker recommended another garage. I took my car there and they recommended a transmission drain which was less expensive and better on the transmission and that my air filter needed to be changed. I couldn't believe that Ken's didn't change it nor did they tell me it needed to be changed. Not at all pleased with their service and the only reason I gave them a 2 and not a 1 is because my car is back in alignment. read more

Great job. Excellent service. New tires, brake work, and serviced. The tech was not satisfied with the performance of the new brake rotors, so resurfaced the old ones and reinstalled. WOW! The old car drives/rides like a brand new one. Also, the "service air bag" message would appear on the dash periodically. They found a problem with the seat belt and corrected. If this problem had not been fixed, the air bags may not have worked in a collision. Life saving measure... Couldn't be more please with the attention to detail, great service and friendly staff at Ken's garage. As a customer of Ken's for 25 years or so, I am always satisfied with the service at Ken's garage. Thanks again. read more
