Score: 10/10 Buzzwords: Kind, Quick, Card Accepted My girlfriend happened upon a a nail in her rear right tire recently en route to the Costo Gas where they're currently doing construction. Thankfully Montebello Lube n' Tune where I get my oil changed referred me to Ken's who happened to be open for walk-ins. The next day, a Wednesday morning ~8:30am, I drove in and got the tire plugged and fixed up in under 30 minutes by Eddie. Despite 90 degree weather so early in the morning, Eddie greeted me with a warm smile. As did Kevin, who I noticed was kind enough to check and fill the tire pressure for the rest of my girlfriends tires - all in all for just about $19 in total. Overall, I'm impressed by Kevin's kind and welcoming demeanor as well as the ease & efficiency at which I was able to remove a nail and plug my girlfriends tire. While I hope I don't have to return under similar circumstances, I rest assured knowing I know a place now. read more

08/17/2023 Came here for a 4 wheel alignment. I was greeted by Kevin he was cordial. I told Kevin that 2 months after getting a wheel alignment from Kuan's I drove up a curb with the whole right side of my car. Now going over 40 mph the car will vibrate so I thought I messed up the alignment. Kevin said that the wheels may need to be balanced that I don't need a alignment. When I told Kuan's he said it might be something else, going up a curb wouldn't mess up the alignment and he was busy with other customers so I went to Ken's Tire. I just had to know, Kevin said the alignment will cost $90 and balance the wheels is $15 each. Nothing was leaking under my car, I've read online that if the car shakes or vibrates it could be the alignment. So I asked Kevin to do another wheel alignment, he hooked my car up and showed me the readings all 4 wheels were in the Green there was nothing wrong with the alignment. After balancing the wheels my car still vibrates over 40 mph. Sometimes your own judgement gets the best of you, I should have listened to my mechanic. But I had to know so spending $90 is not a big deal. At least I know it's not my alignment. read more

Had a bolt in one tire and needed quick service. Before coming to Ken's, American Tire Depot Montebello said my tire couldn't be patched and needed to be replaced, and they also said all 6 lug nuts needed to be replaced - my quote was over $500. Ken and his team removed all 6 lug nuts just fine and they were able to properly patch my tire from the inside- FOR ONLY $20! Such a great deal! This will definatlely be my tire shop from now on! This shop is first come, first served - no appointments, but they work very fast and very efficiently. With several customers ahead of me, I was still in and quickly! One of my tires had low pressure, even after filling it up. Pulled into Ken's lot on a Thursday morning. They immediately inspected my tires and found a screw. They got to work and patched it up. They also checked my other tires and I was out of there about 15 min later. Excellent service, I'm blown away by the price, and can't wait to be back for any other tire needs! read more

Ran over a nail whiling visiting family and was able to bring my car in without an appointment. Half hour later they were able to patch my tire and I was on my way. Excellent service and reasonable price. Would highly recommend to anyone. read more

I needed an alignment done and quick. I came by after work and although they couldn't see me that very same day (at 3 pm) he said I could come at the same the next day. I rushed over and was seen right away. I just drove in, parked, and sat in the new designated waiting area. It's almost 100 degrees. But worth it. read more

I typically go to Costco for new tires but Ken's tires is superior in so many ways. No more Costco tires for me! We came here on a rainy Martin Luther King Day. Very few tire shops were open and the ones that were either didn't have the right tire in stock or they gave me a ridiculous quote. (A nearby tire shop quoted me $1130 for four new tires). Came in to get my Lexus fixed up because my lugs weren't the correct spec for my wheel. I was helped by 2 guys who were the most welcoming and just truly wanted to help me. Went to another tire shop that wanted to charge me $60 + labor for lug nuts to be changed. I came here and was charged $35 and tipped $15 for the excellent and welcoming service. read more

My family has been going to Ken's Tire for many years. I recently had my tire pressure warning light come on and Kevin provided pricing in the event I wanted to compare with a dealership. I had him order and replace 4 tire pressure sensors. He got parts within a day and installed them in less than an hour, calling when the car was ready. Was referred by a coworker and I am very impressed with the quality of service and professionalism of all the staff! They kept working on my tire past closing. At one point, I was having the worst luck with my tires. I feel like I had an issue like nails and flats every month at one point. Been going to Ken's Tire for years. Today I went for a tire slow leak repair. This was after traveling to other tire service centers for help. I don't know why I bothered. ‍ The service Ken's provided was immediate and the quality of care was excellent. The repair cost was very reasonable. I would have gladly paid more. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Even though I've moved away from this neighborhood I will continue to return to Ken's because they are reliable and can be trusted. read more

Ken retired. Get it? All jokes aside, I'd avoid this tire shop. Ken used to "wheel & deal," but sadly those who took over, or run the shop have jacked up the prices. I bought some long wear tires from another shop for 65 a piece with a reasonable amount for mounting and balancing. These tire sharks wanted 480 bucks for 4 very inexpensive tires. I paid 320 out the door. And check this out...the guy I spoke with actually tried to defend his prices by insisting they were the lowest anywhere. No lil buddy. You're ripping people off. Crazy how this business is still even relevant. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Ken O.

Ken started in the tire business in 1968 and was part of the Winston Delta Tire team when he was assigned to manage the Montebello store in 1971. He was with Winston Delta Tire of Montebello until 1976 when he left to start his own tire business, Ken's Tire & Wheel. Ken first opened a business on Beverly Blvd in Montebello and soon outgrew the location, so he moved in 1981 10 blocks west and continued to expand with more locations. Ken has served the last three generations of drivers and is looking for the fourth-generation driver.

This is my own personal experience so don't let my review falter you from reaching out. I reached…read moreout for a dented rim repair as shown in my photos. The repair came out great and it took around two days. Tony came to my house and picked up the wheel. Unfortunately the paint correction did not match the rim and also my tire was leaking where the repair was made (it wasn't leaking even when the rim was dented). So I contacted Tony again to see what he can do. He said the paint came off the machine and that's what it analyzed it as and was willing to do it again so I said sure since the paint came out black instead of blue. He also offered to check on the tire and rebead the seal. So he picked up the wheel again, and this time it took almost two weeks to be done with the repair and this was only the tire portion. He advised that the paint correction would take another couple of days. Honestly just wanted the wheel back since I was out of a car for two weeks already and who knows how much longer it would take to get the wheel back. He came and dropped it off and installed the wheel and the tire is holding air for now, but he did recommend me to just get a new tire if it leaks again which I will do. This time though, when I got the wheel back, it had a new chip near the center which wasn't there before from the original pick up nor the first repair. As far as value and convenience of picking up and delivering goes, I'd say it's fair and beats the competitors. Otherwise, I wasn't too thrilled about the repair. Update: Bumped up one star since tire repairs aren't part of their job description and Tony went out of his way to do it. Leaving it 3 stars due to paint issues and poor communication where I have to ask for updates every couple of days.
