OMG what is this customer service?! We wanted to check out the Rimowa luggage and didn't even get the chance to... We couldn't even get 5 feet through the door - a salesperson popped up out of nowhere like the butler from Mr Deeds and stood literally inches from us the whole time. Over all, this is a great store with a very good selection of top class luggage - will return if/when the rest of my original Andiamo collection breaks down. I bought a Briggs and Riley carry on bag last week, and after taking it on a trip, I realized the expansion feature was defective on one side, but also, I preferred the slightly larger two wheel model, as opposed to the four wheel model, that they had convinced me was better. Despite the fact that the bag I brought in had been used, and they likely would not have been able to resell it, they quickly exchanged it for the other model. There was a difference in price to my advantage, which I insisted they should keep, but Albert who waited on me, insisted they bestow a gift of comparable value! Ike, who is the owner and originally helped me, authorized this generous exchange. This is what personal service, and a neighborhood store is all about, and convinces me to always opt for this over online retail. I went in to find a big duffle Tumi the night before a trip. Robby helped me with a beautiful bag, but when I got home I realized it was too heavy. I called Robby and explained my problem. He offered to deliver a smaller version of the same bag to my house the same night so that I could pack for the morning trip. I have to say this is the best customer service I have received. I don't take it personally if a retail salesperson is inattentive, but when they're downright unpleasant, and I'm with someone who thinks it was as weird as I did, then... Had a strange experience here. I tried on a messenger bag, and had to lengthen the strap because it was set as short as possible for display. I tried it on and needed to make it longer, still. The surly salesman snatched the bag from me and shortened the strap back to the literally unwearable length and snarled, "are you going to buy this?" Not if I'm not allowed to try it on properly I'm not. Unnecessary unpleasant. Easy to shop elsewhere... read more

This place is cool man. The guys who work there are just a motley crew, that's all. They carry all the top of the line stuff, and it's expensive. That's why people leave bad reviews, cause they can't afford stuff and they get mad. My girl & I got a matching set of his & hers Rimowa Topaz luggage and we're happy as füçk. She wanted Tumi, but once she saw the Tumi and the Rimowa side-by-side she knew what was up. Unless you have at least a grand to spend on luggage, don't come here. Go on amazon instead. read more

Went in there for a new Rimowa after my last one was damaged by a Delta baggage cart. Spoke to Robby about sizes and in the end he helped me choose a Tumi case instead which was way bigger and cost me less. SAME!!!! These guys are rip-off artists! Like the other reviewers, they sold me a samsonite suitcase and told me I could return it for "full refund" on my credit card. I have very specific needs for this bag (I use a rolling suitcase for film equipment, and it needs to fit my gear), and when I got home and tried to pack it with my stuff it didnt fit. I cannot express my hatred for this place. I figured a nice, pricey luggage store in Santa Monica Place would be a straightforward, prices listed and helpful staff kind of retail store... NOPE! It's a used car sales lot. (Scroll to last paragraph if you want to skip my experience) To start, I went in before Christmas to buy a carry-on suitcase for my girlfriend. I asked for help as I had no clue what I wanted besides a possible hard shell. I asked the guy for help and he directs me straight to a case and says, "See this case? It's $500. For you. $395." I was so taken back by the sales approach that I honestly didn't know how to respond. My initial thought was, "you're trying to sell me something worth $400 and you didn't even tell me about it, you are just pointing at it". Then I quickly thought, "it doesn't matter, I can't afford $400". So I told him I'd like to keep it under $200... honestly, I would have spent $300. So he takes me to the next case, "this is $450; I give you to for $295". My response, "dude, I just told you I wanted to spend less than $200." He then throws his hands up and says, "fine." He takes me to another case and says this one is $200. It's what you want. Okay?" So, I've now "seen" 3 cases; haven't been told a single thing about any of them and he's ready to be done with me. I told him to just give me space and come back. Spent my time looking, came to the conclusion on one and asked for help. Another, different, salesman came to help. I told him I wanted this case. He tells me it's $215! I responded with, "the other guy said it's $200, I'll give you $150." We went back and forth and landed at $180. I leave, get home, look up the case I bought; everything online is $115!!!!! I understand that everything is cheaper online and you pay for service in store but not at $65 price point! I decided on another case after doing research and then went back to return the case. They literally hassled me and tried to make me feel bad for returning something I a) really didn't want and b) was unhappy with. For those who skipped the story: they OVER PRICE and ARE VERY RUDE. Go to another store or research online and buy there. read more

I am absolutely amazed at the service received here. I needed a last minute suitcase for a next day trip while recovering from ankle surgery and in a boot. Tumi in Century City is super close to me but they happened to be unexpectedly closed that day. I googled other Tumi locations and found Kensington. I thought maybe I could have a friend drive over and pick something up for me. I spoke with Robby who went over all sizes and sent me pictures since I wasn't able to see them for myself. Then he also offered to deliver the suitcase to me. Within a couple of hours the exact suitcase I needed was delivered to my door. They even price matched. This was my first visit to this place, and I was impressed. I went in looking for a Tumi suitcase and found one with a clearly marked price (which was 40% off the suggested retail price). They were very thorough and explained all the features of the bag. They did not have the size I wanted so they ordered one to have shipped to my address at no charge. I was so pleased that I picked up a Tumi carry on as well (also clearly marked 40% off price). They had the carry on in stock but offered to order and ship me one directly if I wanted. They embossed the bag at no charge and will do the same for the larger one when that arrives. They even offered to emboss any other Tumi bags I already own at no charge if I bring them in. I checked the prices online later and the prices I paid at the store were the same or better. Overall I was pleased with the experience! read more

I was treated very well by the store manager and his assistant, Robby when I came in to have my Briggs and Riley carry-on Cabin Spinner repaired. The collapsing handle was not functioning correctly and they took it and sent it back to the manufacturer free of charge even though they had to pay the postage out of their on pocket. You don't operate continuously in Santa Monica for 30+ years without exhibiting professionalism and delivering stellar customer service.
