My favorite mechanics (other than my dad!). They always tell it like it is, can tell you how urgent a problem is, and are happy to explain what's going on with your car. It does take a while to get your car into the shop (unless it is super urgent), but I'll happily schedule ahead of time to make sure my car is well looked after. When my forester finally kicks the bucket, I'll probably just have them put another engine in :) read more

This place totally blew me away. My 2014 Outback had a right rear wheel bearing go out. Took it to this location and they confirmed as such. The cost to replace it was more than reasonable and their service was very friendly. On a HUGE plus side, one of the mechanics did a full inspection of my Outback and detected a faint "ticking" from the CVT transmission. Turns out this is a recall on the CVTs and my Subaru was within that recall. If they had not done so, I never would have received my brand new transmission from Subaru of Missoula!! I'm shocked at how few reviews there are! Everyone in Missoula seems to know that Kent Bros is the place for Subarus. I had such a great first experience today! First, I wrote down the wrong day for my appointment but they still accommodated me. They were very clear about what work they would be doing before I left and even asked what my schedule was for the day so that they could call me when they were done at a time that was convenient! When they called I had lots of questions and Eddie really spent the time to go through what they found and explain it to me (thanks Eddie!). They also didn't try to sell me on doing work that wasn't a high priority. I'll definitely be back. read more

I have owned Subaru's for a number of years and as a mechanic myself have always done my own repairs. My 98 Forester was giving me fits and was down to throwing parts at it to get it to run reliably. My old Legacy had a major problem far from home and I was referred here to have it looked at. These guys spent the good part of an afternoon working to find a way to get the car patched together so that I could continue my trip.... despite a busy schedule they went well out of their way to provide lots of knowledgeable help and a good used part to solve a problem that would have otherwise sent the car to the scrap yard. We were able to get back on the road and reach our destination two states away. Top-level Subaru service and great folks to work with - highly recommended! read more

We're new in town but have owned Subaru's since the early 1980's. One of the front headlight bulbs on our 2014 Outback recently burned out and I was planning to change the bulb on my own. I quickly discovered that this is not an easy task. I called Kent Brothers for an estimate and they told me to bring it in - at no cost!! Great shop to take a Subaru to. I was traveling cross-country and was having problems with my car shifting -- I thought it was the transmission. They worked my car into their busy afternoon and determined that the problem wasn't critical and that I would make it to my destination ok -- no trying to fix something that wasn't broken or sell me something I didn't need. As a bonus, the shop is located in a great neighborhood to spend time while waiting for your car -- nice restaurants and fun shops! read more
