After eight years, I decided to look into getting new hearing aids. The old ones were just okay and Kenwood Hearing Centers recently sent me an intriguing ad for the latest Oticon More1R hearing aid. I made an appointment with Adam at the Guerneville Rd. office. I had essentially no wait, and was given a hearing test. The test was much more comprehensive than the one I had in 2016. The results were well explained to me. Then the demo hearing aids were programmed with the results of the test. I tried the newly programmed aids on and Adam talked with me turning the hearing aids on and off to experience the difference. He also played different kinds of music so I could experience the new sounds. Then he linked my hearing aids to my iPhone and called me. I also called my wife who was in the waiting room. The hearing aids were linked directly to the phone. Amazing. He then asked me if I would like a two week trial with no cost or obligation other than to return the hearing aids if I didn't like them. I live 100 miles away from Santa Rosa, but that didn't influence my decision. I said, "Skip the demo period. These work" and I bought them on the spot. I also bought a linking system to my TV so I can watch it without the sound on and listen directly int the hearing aids. Haven't set that up yet, but Adam sent me complete instructions on how to set it up. I have now been using the new Oticon More1R aids for three days at home and I just amazed how good the sound enhancements are. The only negative is they are expensive. But for me, worth the money. I was directed to Kenwood by my new insurance provider for hearing aids. Ross Unguren from the Guerneville office was my provider and we embarked on a long education about hearing aids. Unlike many places, Kenwood allows for the tricky process of getting used to these complicated technical marvels. And despite the expense, I was able to keep them until I figured them out, even changing to several different brands, until I felt comfortable with them. And on top of that, after my insurance company determined that I would not be able to continue along this path, Ross and the Kenwood owners took a hit on the devices in order to serve me, their customer, to make me happy. When I relocated to Sonoma County 4 years ago, Kenwood Hearing Center was my choice for hearing care. Since then, Adam has talked me through changes in my hearing and made necessary adjustments, provided hearing-aid repairs, and recently assisted in the selection of newer hearing aids that have noticeably improved my hearing. During these interactions, the staff at Kenwood have been informative, helpful and caring. I've also noticed the special care provided to other clients who need a bit more assistance. At the beginning of Covid lockdown my hearing aids died- and every provider was closed except online. After a year the online aids began to cause problems and while i could send the aids back for adjustment over the phone, i would be without aids for 2 weeks. I called around to my prior provider (Kaiser) and they wouldn't do any servicing or upgrading of my online aids. Cold calling Kenwood, which was recommended by other friends, they gave me an immediate appointment, charged me a nominal amount and did a complete servicing and upgrading of my aids even though they were not the vendor. I will be back for regular servicing and will certainly buy my next pair there. Great service and total understanding of my plight. read more

I finally got the courage to take the first step and come in for a free hearing test. I worked with Chalon Leonard, and she was absolutely amazing. She explained everything that was happening, how it worked, what the options were based on my needs and finances. Here I was, partially unable to hear out of both ears my whole life, imagining this horrible and daunting experience - and within minutes of meeting Chalon, it was solved. I felt so supported! The office itself is nice, comfortable, clean. There's even a keurig and some snacks in the reception area. And the receptionist is really sweet too. Adam was very helpful, recommended me ear plugs with a filter to block out noise but still allow me to hear my co-workers. He even gave me a free hearing test, luckily I'm still ok. It has been a complete pleasure working with Kenwood Hearing Center, 1421 Guerneville Rd, Santa Rosa! I am a first-time hearing aid user and had a referral to KHC from a friend who mentioned she felt it was worth it (for a variety of reasons) to use KHC rather than Costco, even though Costco could possibly be less expensive. Adam Jasa at KHC made the process completely comfortable. His skill, kindness and intention to make my process successful was obvious. Being able to feel free to try out (without being rushed) various hearing aids--different brands, different features & price points--was so important, as well as being able to exchange the aid if, after purchasing it, I felt dissatisfied (which I didn't). I was freely loaned the hearing aids and the device to hear the tv through the aids and felt I had everything I needed to make a decision. And having made a purchase, I love that I am able to pay for the aids over 1 year interest free. That works! KHC staff & offices are so professional but offer a warm and comfortable atmosphere; parking is convenient. I had several appointments but never minded going--it was easy and actually fun. Surprisingly I ran into more than 1 friend there, as I found out other friends also have gotten their hearing aids there. I've had my hearing aids for 2 months now. I am still very pleased and as I was told, am increasingly adapting to them and know that will continue as my brain continues to learn to recognize sounds again. The KHC service will continue as they offer free ongoing check-up appointments where they will clean the hearing aids & provide any service or advice needed. What a difference this has made in my life! I am no longer missing out on what people are saying--especially in small groups. I'm no longer the one asking people to repeat what they said. I no longer have anxiety in my professional life that I won't catch what is being said and not be able to participate appropriately. Even in noisy environments I can hear. Adam was the doctor who first saw my elderly mother. My mother has been profoundly deaf her whole life so hearing centers are traumatic for her. Adam was kind and thorough and called me with necessary information. We also have been working now with Ross on trying to see what we can do to help her hear better. Ross is patient and gentle and came up with many ideas and solutions so that we could communicate better.
