I have tried to get hearing aids that work to no avail. Dennis must be getting kick backs from Starkey brand and pushes them, even though they keep failing on me. The charger does not work, the hearing aids don't hold a charge. I am now out thousands of dollars. read more

I have been going to Park Place hearing for almost 15 years, when it was under the old ownership. Dennis, Stacey, and the entire team have been amazing. They are so friendly. They know every one of their clients well and treat you with such care. I've bought three sets of hearing aids in this time (just bought the third). They are so patient with me, as I am quite picky and want them to fit right and sound right, with very little hassle. Dennis has repeatedly fitted me and let me try different variations until I get the right hearing aid. I regret having to write this review for Park Place Hearing Center, Petaluma. I had my appointment this week. The audiologist was five stars..however, I am very unhappy to report that it went downhill after that. I was given two hearing aids to test: The Oticon More and the Starkey Evolve. Both aids met my needs, but I really liked the Oticon More after having it in my ears. The price was steep..for me..$3200. Dennis Tobin wrote the price on the brochure for the Oticon. I came home to think it over. While doing so, I researched information on the Oticon and price checked it from other centers. Here is where it all went south. I discovered that the Oticon More has three "performance levels". I was not told this during my appointment. Next, I uncovered the prices and quality of the three different levels. All literature indicates a substantial difference in quality between the number 1 level and the number 3 level. Now it gets worse. With that information in hand, I called Park Place. I had been quoted the very least expensive Oticon, the level 3, during my appointment with Dennis. However, and this is crucial, the Oticon Dennis placed in my ears to sell me the aid were level 1..the best. At no time did he explain to me the different levels or the different prices, or different qualities. The result: I left Park Place believing that Dennis had given me an accurate price for the Oticon he had used during my appointment. There was every opportunity for him to explain the three levels and tell me that the one I picked was actually closer to $6700.00! About twice as much as the level 3! So, to sum it up, I was sold by trying the very best Oticon, but quoted a price for the lowest level Oticon which is what I would have been given if I purchased it for the price quoted. Without my own research, I would not have known why the aids that I paid $3200. for did not function like the ones I used on me in the demonstration. Furthermore, after I contacted the office about this, Dennis called to try and say there was not much difference...This is not true at all according to the literature. As a result of this experience I have completely lost trust in the services of Park Place Hearing. This is an example of Bait and Switch sales..buyer beware! read more

I have been coming to Park Place Hearing Center in Petaluma ever since experiencing nerve damage and sudden hearing loss in one ear several years ago. I've always received excellent service and attentive care from the audiologists and staff with hearing tests, hearing device selection and fittings. They are flexible and accommodating with appointment times. They have also been generous with the time they spent with me and listened carefully to any concerns. Even the smallest of issues with my hearing device have been dealt with quickly, professionally and resolved to my satisfaction. The office itself is a pleasant and calming environment. I'm especially impressed with how much the staff are all very conscientious about current virus protocol and safety. read more

I always hated wearing my hearing aids and couldn't wait to take them off at the end of the day. Additionally, I still couldn't hear well. After I lost one, Dennis, (who did not fit the originals) took a look to see how I could get a better fit. When I saw him today I told him that he's a miracle worker - they're comfortable and for the first time since wearing aids, I actually hear pretty well. Additionally, everyone else who works at Park Place is simply wonderful and as helpful as could be. read more

COVID story -- a good one. My husband is immunosuppressed and his doctors have told me not to go into public buildings unless they are very clean and I trust the occupants to have worn masks in them. When I had a sore ear and was concerned about asymmetric hearing loss, Laura said she'd meet me in the parking lot to take a look in my ear (with a face shield on). When nothing showed up, she gave me a hearing test inside -- after sanitizing all the surfaces and letting me know the people who worked there always wore masks. I decided to do it. It was quick and painless -- and I'm grateful she did it (no charge!) because I was re-assured. read more

When I arrived at Park Place, I was created by Laura, and Dennis. The customer service was excellant. After my hearing test knowing what I wanted they both sat down and came up with a plan. I walked out with a trial pair. Upon my next visit Dennis ordered my aids, and accommodated my insurance copay. I bought a pair of Starkey Halos a year ago here. I've gone in several times since for tune-ups and the staff has always been helpful, informative, and courteous. Thank you, Park Place Hearing Center, for your good help with my hearing problems. For the yelpers: I came into Park Place on a referral, in a rush, after roughhousing with my nephew in a pool, my ear sore and muffled. Laura and Dennis went out of their way to get me in and give me a full workup. They correctly diagnosed my perforated eardrum, with complications (from a prior ear surgery). They explained and demonstrated all the particulars, and coached me properly through the recovery. Turned out I suffered a partial hearing loss from bone displacement, but non-surgical, and had congenital and age-related hearing loss in both ears to top it off. No problem: Laura and Dennis worked with me to go over all my hearing aid options, from basic to cutting-edge tech, and find the right solution to my rather unique hearing problems. Also, they are a real pleasure to work with. We working together as a team for my best interests, and got it handled, and they are on top of the occasional ongoing management my condition requires. My husband and I met with Dennis Tobin, owner since 2014. Dennis was friendly, and thorough in performing the hearing tests, showed us the results and consulted with us about our wishes. At no time did he try to sell us hearing aids ( even though I have some hearing loss in one ear now). He explained that my loss was mild to moderate and unless I wanted a device, in his opinion, it really wasn't time yet. He let me try a device so I could see how much difference the aid made, and we concluded that it was not enough of a loss to get one yet.
