It certainly wasn't bad sushi, that's for sure, in fact, I really did like it A LOT... So much so that I just wish the portion sizes (especially for the price tags) were bigger. My meal was pretty dang small (portion size wise) even though I feel like I ordered a ton. I will say, I'm VERY impressed with the waitress / staff because I ordered my food over the phone and the woman taking my order was very attentive and even called me back to verify a few things (I order very specific things). I absolutely applaud their efforts and nothing in my order was wrong! If I lived in the area, I'd probably get food from here again but not without trying other spots first... Salmon Skin is VERY important to me... And while I'm THRILLED this restaurant even had the option, I'm sad to report that the salmon skin handrolls I ordered were TINY! PS: it's best to eat at the restaurant or order take out over the phone... I checked Uber Eats prices and they jack them up SOOOOO HIGH and 1/2 the menu isn't even on Uber Eats too!

Very good sushi!! Neighborhood place. We tried a few rolls, salad, and appetizer and the bill came to $69.00 before tip. The rolls were an excellent value, and served and explained very nicely by our waiter. I will be going back to sushi for sure!!

The restaurant is far lovelier than its inauspicious strip mall location would have you believe. Service is very attentive and food came to the table piping hot. Miso was deeply savory, not a lot of tofu though. Veggie tempura was 8 pieces, onion, carrot, Japanese yam and pumpkin/acorn squash. Large pieces and the coating light and crispy. Shu mai and gyoza probably came out of a bag, but were fine. Suspect Korean dumplings as they were a mite spicy, but yummy nonetheless. They offer brown rice, which I appreciate! Husband had the House Fried Rice, a large portion with lots of meat. He was offered yum-yum sauce which to my shock, he LOVED! A nice, quiet place with good food!

The door looked so small, we didn't expect the restaurant to be decent size! The waitress was nice and friendly. We came on a late Friday night. The food was good. They even had fatty tuna (a bit pricer than others in town). The sake was also a bit pricer than competitors also. We love our food, surprisingly. We didn't want to be disappointed like the times from other sushi restaurants so we wasn't expecting that much. I do have to point out that the sushi was made with extra rice. Nevertheless, we will be coming back again to try other items on the menu.

this was me giving the place a second chance. I called and asked if I could make my own roll and they said no but I could modify one. I asked if they had anything with crunch, crab mix, and masago, they said I could do the super crunch roll. this has salmon, eel, avocado, cucumber and crunch. but they didnt tell me that. I said ok and this is what I got. it's horrible. many sushi places let me just get a roll with masago, crunch, and crab mix all inside the roll. I'm pregnant and it's wol I want. it's not hard and I pay whatever they ask for it. be more accommodating kenzo.

This place has a lot of good reviews so it sucked I didn't have a great time here. I went in not expecting super fresh fish, since it's inland. But the fish was so masked by sauces, you can't tell if it's fresh. The inside is small and pleasant, it was clean, there was lots of little plates and soy sauce bowls stacked on the tables. First up, the waiter was not friendly. He was kind of short at some points. Never cleared any of the plates I was stacking up off the table. Never refilled drink. I noticed on the menu there were no sushi rolls under $10. Normally a salmon avocado roll or spicy tuna roll will run you less than that. But there weren't simpler rolls like that on the menu. I ordered the Korean kimchi and it was lousy. Lacking in flavor and spice. Generous portion, but who wants to eat it. The eel sushi came out cold, but it was a nice presentation. Normally it's grilled in a toaster oven or by torch. The Alaskan roll sounded good, California roll with salmon, crunchy, and some sauce. I couldn't taste anything besides the strong sauce. It utterly destroyed the fish taste. Parts of the bottom of the sushi was made sloppy. The cucumber special roll had other pretty pictures! Mine was little fish and lots of krab and cucumber. The roll peices were much too big and the cucumber cuts were not conducive to holding a sushi peice. It's obviously gonna slide apart if there's no skin to give it some traction. It was too big for my mouth and messy to eat. I couldn't taste anything but cucumber and the sauce it was in. The seafood soup was a big bowl of miso with 4 shrimps and 2 beat up scallops thrown in. I like miso soup and it was the favorite thing I had here. The shrimp and scallops were a little done, but they were probably cooked and thrown in boiling miso, so its to be expected. They seem to do a brisk to-go service and there's a decent sized kitchen. There was adequate staff on hand, I saw 2 chefs, 2 wait staff, and 2 or 3 people in the kitchen. Ultimately the sauce-driven sushi is not for me and there's not a fun staff or environment I want to re-visit to try ordering something else another time.

The food was extraordinary and some of the best sushi we have ever had. The spicy tuna roll, the edamame and the steak fried rice were so fresh tasting, it will make ya wanna slap ya momma. Perfect prep and presentation all the way around. ( P.S. - I am not advocating violence of any type when I say, "smack ya momma it was so good"... it's just a southern expression of something so unbelievably delicious !)

We were staying at the Lake and stopped in last night as I was craving something light and sushi. I looked on Yelp and read the reviews. We walked in about 830pm. It was pretty empty for the 4th of July. The female Asian server was very attentive. Although, she didn't really talk to me. She talked primary to the gentleman I was with. We ordered the speciality rolls: Dynamite, California Tempura, Super Crunch, Spider Roll and Rainbow. It was pretty filling and a lot of fun. I left stuffed.

My search for good sushi in Flowery Branch is over! Great little hidden treasure! I'd say this is the BEST sushi close to Flowery Branch. Generous portions, reasonable prices and best of all, delicious! I ordered the Jalapeño bomb (poppers) and they were amazing! I highly recommend them. They're not really spicy if anyone is wondering. And the monster sushi roll was very good. It was also a generous portion. I couldn't eat it all, had to take some home. I added eel sauce to my roll because I like a touch of sweet sauce. Overall, a great first experience and it won't be my last. I'll be back soon.

This place was pretty quaint. I liked the decor and the food was decent. I ordered ramen. I don't think I would order it if I visited again. My husband ordered sashimi. Unfortunately, a large party with a lot of children came and it completely changed the atmosphere. The servers becamr 95% focused on the large group and 5% on everyone else. Also, the parents were not watching the children and they were running around the restaurant. All in all, it took way too long for my husband's sushi to come and we just wanted to get out by the time we finished eating. I am hoping the experience was just a fluke. read more

Called in 1.5 hours earlier to pick up a large order at 7 pm. Got to the restaurant at 7 and the lady at the front said that the chef wasn't able to start the order because they forgot to set the clock back (daylight savings). Lady wasn't apologetic at all. Said she'd give us free miso soup for the inconvenience. Am not satisfied with free miso soup that probably costs .01 cents to make. The order came out twenty minutes later. She then proceeded to give me my food in a white plastic bag. There is clearly soy sauce spilling inside of it. She told me she could repack the bag of food but it will take time. I don't understand why she didn't just repack the food before giving it to me. The bag was already in my hand as I proceeded to hover it away from leaking over my shoes. Service is SH*T but the food at least looks good. Not coming back. read more

So Kenzo is a pretty good sushi place I recommend if you live in the area or staying for a little bit at the resort or hotels near by. It's small and intimate and the sushi tastes great! Side note they are better when you dine in then do take out so you can have the full experience and have the sushi fresh as possible. read more

We came on a Friday night around 8pm for dinner. The restaurant was about 50% full and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Our service was friendly but we didn't have one server, we were helped by several waiters in addition to the hostess, so it was a bit confusing. However, shortly after sitting we were able to place our order - 2 rolls (rainbow & dragon) and the sashimi regular. Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 45 minutes. Once it arrived the server did apologize for the long wait. The portions were great and the prices were very reasonable. The food itself was tasty too! Definitely not the best sushi I've ever had but it was decent for the price. Overall, this place deserves 4 stars for the good prices and decent portions. The service could be a bit quicker and more prompt. read more

This is our new favorite place! I had the lunch bento box and everything was absolutely perfect. No complaints whatsoever. My husband, who is pretty picky about food, loved his teriyaki filet mignon and actually said he wants to come back ASAP. Coming from him, that's really saying something, because he usually isn't a huge fan of Japanese food. I am just blown away by how amazing this place is. All the five star reviews on this place blow my mind. I have been here several times as it's so close to my house but each time have left over an hour later after warm sushi wondering why. The service is the worst, I've gotten take out twice and each time had no soy sauce, an incorrect order and a rude employee tell me it was somehow my fault... save your money for a quality place that appreciates your business because this isn't it. read more

First time here and they didn't disappoint. My wife and I went for our anniversary. When we entered we were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. They weren't busy as they had just reopened from lunch and it was the middle of the week. The inside is cozy and a lot bigger than we were expecting from the looks on the outside. We ordered spring rolls to start. Nothing fancy, but they were good and they came out fast. For dinner, we ordered three rolls. A Manhattan Roll, and Dynamite Roll, and a another I forgot the name of. They were all delicious. They stayed together well and didn't fall apart when we picked them up (a pet peeve). We'll definitely be back. We will have to try the hibachi dinners. They don't have the tables as other bigger restaurants have, but they did have hibachi on the menu. read more

Fantastic Sushi. Well worth a visit despite the marginal service. Sushi is large, fresh, and beautiful. The one habachi dinner our party ordered was excellent. Even our one "sushi hater" loved her house special fried rice. The problem here is marginal service. He was quick to take our order, and some of the Sushi came out quickly, but the kitchen items were VERY slow. Most of the table had consumed 2 rounds of Sushi and everything else when the above mentioned Fried rice was finally delivered (I really think they had lost the order). The server never checked our beverages - we had to repeatedly ask for refills and our check. But the Sushi is SO GOOD - it's worth putting up with the service here. read more

So, you cannot judge this place by the outside! It is literally a door and small window in the corner, but the place is decently sized inside. The rolls were great! They were tightly rolled, and did not fall apart when you picked them up. The fish was fresh, and had such a good flavor that I hardly used any soy sauce. For what we got, the prices were lower than comparable restaurants in the Buford area: spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, Alaskan roll, side of fried rice, ginger salad, and two hot green teas was about $37. The server was very nice and attentive. We never had to ask for water or tea refills, and she was very helpful with explaining the flavor of some of the specialty rolls. They do not deliver, but that's ok because they are within walking distance from my house. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our sushi here a couple nights ago. We are plant based and I was thrilled to see a Vegan roll along with avocado roll in the menu. It removes the stress out of dining out for me (and the server) which is how dining out should be! We will order both rolls again. All rolls had very good quality sushi rice too, yum! We also had the veggie roll which was good but the other were our favorites. The vegan roll was close to a vegan roll I enjoyed at R& D in Dallas but with macadamia nuts and the ponzu sauce. Absolutely the best vegan roll I have ever had. Only thing I wish was different is they do not provide the option to remove the fish sauce from the miso soup to provide a plant based option. We were told there was no fish sauce upon ordering then when the server brought it she said there was fish sauce in it. My husband ate it anyway but he said it was not good and very fishy tasting too. Most restaurants provide the option but for some reason not here and the Only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars. The ambience was lovely and we ate here at 745 pm and groups were still coming when we left. Lovely quiet restaurant with dinner music that we will return to. It is a great place to eat with friends for conversation and good food. read more

The place is clean, servers are polite and helpful, plus the sushi is freshly made in front of you. The quality is consistently fabulous. We love the Spider Roll and Volcano Roll. read more

they seemed like a family owned place, small and quaint and quiet but not in a bad way! service was super fast, sushi came out quick, I loved the miso soup and the volcano roll I got! will definitely be back! many of these negative reviews are just people upset that Kenzo didn't bend over backwards for them! Be aware- fake reviews!! This place is hardly a 3-star. Dining area is not very clean, bathroom is plain dirty. Food was mediocre at best. We ordered 7-8 different items from the menu and nothing was good. Even miso soup wasn't good. Beer came out warm, hot sake cold. Hibachi plate felt like leftovers. Tempura was plain bad soaked in old dirty oil. Thanks god they forgot to bring out an order of sashimi, would've been too adventurous. read more

Had to write this review because its rare I get good sushi via ubereats. It was so good I look forward to eating in the restaurant on my next date night. I had the volcano roll and it was amazing! I can only give 4 stars since that was the only thing I ordered besides the house salad with ginger dressing. I'll update this review after eating in the restaurant, but as of now I would highly recommend this place read more

This is my new go-to for sushi close by. I love sushi and this restaurant wasn't bad at all. My only complaint is that I feel sometimes the eel is cut with too much fat left on. Other than that pretty good spot. Go try it for yourself! read more

Ordered 3 times this week. EVERY order was messed up, and they pretended like they *DID* get it right, and that i was either an idiot or trying to scam them for food. Like 2 pieces of sushi? What a joke. There is no good place around here to get fried rice, just accept it. read more

Love this place!! I come here all the time (probably all too often). Everything is so fresh. I havent had anything I don't like! Service is always great & the food comes out in a jiffy!! I've started going here over the other local sushi restaurant, Niko Niko. My personal favorites here are the bento box, sashimi is always great, and their ginger salad dressing is better than any other that i've ever had! read more

I am a sushi nut. I have tasted it around the states and once I stopped flying everywhere and parked my butt in Buford Georgia I wanted to find a perfect sushi place to call my own. That was 20 years ago. After all that time, sushi places have come and gone. Most by management changes that have dropped customer service for profit. Then about 6 months ago I found Kenso. Unfortunately the location is not the best as being at the back of a strip mall. But maybe that's a good thing as it keeps it out of the eyes of tourists? As for the food, it's almost a perfect 10. About a 9.8 as some of the seafood used has been slightly Frozen. But you are going to be hard pressed to find a sushi place with 100% fresh seafood that is not on the coast. I tried a sushi with scallop on it the other day an it felt like I had a stick of butter in my mouth. Didn't taste like Butter but melted in my mouth, soft to chew, great seafood taste but not a heave salt or frozen feel. The best I have EVER eaten! Also try the shrimp Tempura appetizer. Just perfect atmosphere, service and food, rolled up in a nice quite location! read more

Although the sushi is good... their service is truly BAD! They will reach over you, as you're eating to refill soy sauce or SP. my husband and I love sushi and this place has good food. So instead we decided to order out and each time they argue or don't fill the order or blame us. This was our last order tonight. No more. There's other places with good sushi and WAY better service. I'm tired of being bullied by the service industry. In fact, one time the waiter took my glass of wine and then tried to tell me my glass was empty... and it wasn't. I'm done being told "too bad deal with it!" Please take your business elsewhere. read more

Came here on the hunt for good sushi and I was definitely pleased! The experience was quite authentic (for me at least, I was just interested in eating on my break). I ordered the rainbow roll and it was served on a nice, clean board with wasabi and ginger. I haven't had good sushi in awhile and I blame that on the mall of Georgia. It was after eating here that made me realize that people can still make raw fish taste amazing. Staff and sushi chefs were super nice, too. Overall, good and affordable lunch sushi! read more

Tastes like all sugar even though I got 30% sugar. Oolong is supposed to be creamy and nutty or roasted but instead it just taste like sugar water. Puts the Tea Top brand to shame. Corporate needs to investigate to be honest, because I'm pretty sure they have standards for their tea but this tea top just buys cheapest third party possible. Not to mention how rude the staff was.

At first I was in love. Bento box was great. But I ordered salmon roe sashimi. They brought me a salmon roll. I told her it was wrong she didn't understand. I pointed on the menus to the salmon roe. She came back with salmon nigiri. I told her again and said "fish eggs. R-O-E" she said she didn't know what that was and went over to the cook and audibly complained about me. I was very uncomfortable at this point. Why is it on the menu if no one knows what it is. I came here specifically because they have that. I even called it by is real name, Masako. And she was mean to me. She acted like I was stupid. Told the cook I said roll when I didn't. I hate salmon rolls why would I order that? I mean I'd understand if I was rude or raised my voice but I was being extremely patient and understanding of our language barrier. I spelled things out, I spoke slowly, I even said that I was sorry. One word. Fresh! Came here after my grandson's game one day after this place being recommended to me by a great friend of ours.
