It certainly wasn't bad sushi, that's for sure, in fact, I really did like it A LOT... So much so that I just wish the portion sizes (especially for the price tags) were bigger. My meal was pretty dang small (portion size wise) even though I feel like I ordered a ton. I will say, I'm VERY impressed with the waitress / staff because I ordered my food over the phone and the woman taking my order was very attentive and even called me back to verify a few things (I order very specific things). I absolutely applaud their efforts and nothing in my order was wrong! If I lived in the area, I'd probably get food from here again but not without trying other spots first... Salmon Skin is VERY important to me... And while I'm THRILLED this restaurant even had the option, I'm sad to report that the salmon skin handrolls I ordered were TINY! PS: it's best to eat at the restaurant or order take out over the phone... I checked Uber Eats prices and they jack them up SOOOOO HIGH and 1/2 the menu isn't even on Uber Eats too!

Very good sushi!! Neighborhood place. We tried a few rolls, salad, and appetizer and the bill came to $69.00 before tip. The rolls were an excellent value, and served and explained very nicely by our waiter. I will be going back to sushi for sure!!

The restaurant is far lovelier than its inauspicious strip mall location would have you believe. Service is very attentive and food came to the table piping hot. Miso was deeply savory, not a lot of tofu though. Veggie tempura was 8 pieces, onion, carrot, Japanese yam and pumpkin/acorn squash. Large pieces and the coating light and crispy. Shu mai and gyoza probably came out of a bag, but were fine. Suspect Korean dumplings as they were a mite spicy, but yummy nonetheless. They offer brown rice, which I appreciate! Husband had the House Fried Rice, a large portion with lots of meat. He was offered yum-yum sauce which to my shock, he LOVED! A nice, quiet place with good food!

The door looked so small, we didn't expect the restaurant to be decent size! The waitress was nice and friendly. We came on a late Friday night. The food was good. They even had fatty tuna (a bit pricer than others in town). The sake was also a bit pricer than competitors also. We love our food, surprisingly. We didn't want to be disappointed like the times from other sushi restaurants so we wasn't expecting that much. I do have to point out that the sushi was made with extra rice. Nevertheless, we will be coming back again to try other items on the menu.

this was me giving the place a second chance. I called and asked if I could make my own roll and they said no but I could modify one. I asked if they had anything with crunch, crab mix, and masago, they said I could do the super crunch roll. this has salmon, eel, avocado, cucumber and crunch. but they didnt tell me that. I said ok and this is what I got. it's horrible. many sushi places let me just get a roll with masago, crunch, and crab mix all inside the roll. I'm pregnant and it's wol I want. it's not hard and I pay whatever they ask for it. be more accommodating kenzo.

This place has a lot of good reviews so it sucked I didn't have a great time here. I went in not expecting super fresh fish, since it's inland. But the fish was so masked by sauces, you can't tell if it's fresh. The inside is small and pleasant, it was clean, there was lots of little plates and soy sauce bowls stacked on the tables. First up, the waiter was not friendly. He was kind of short at some points. Never cleared any of the plates I was stacking up off the table. Never refilled drink. I noticed on the menu there were no sushi rolls under $10. Normally a salmon avocado roll or spicy tuna roll will run you less than that. But there weren't simpler rolls like that on the menu. I ordered the Korean kimchi and it was lousy. Lacking in flavor and spice. Generous portion, but who wants to eat it. The eel sushi came out cold, but it was a nice presentation. Normally it's grilled in a toaster oven or by torch. The Alaskan roll sounded good, California roll with salmon, crunchy, and some sauce. I couldn't taste anything besides the strong sauce. It utterly destroyed the fish taste. Parts of the bottom of the sushi was made sloppy. The cucumber special roll had other pretty pictures! Mine was little fish and lots of krab and cucumber. The roll peices were much too big and the cucumber cuts were not conducive to holding a sushi peice. It's obviously gonna slide apart if there's no skin to give it some traction. It was too big for my mouth and messy to eat. I couldn't taste anything but cucumber and the sauce it was in. The seafood soup was a big bowl of miso with 4 shrimps and 2 beat up scallops thrown in. I like miso soup and it was the favorite thing I had here. The shrimp and scallops were a little done, but they were probably cooked and thrown in boiling miso, so its to be expected. They seem to do a brisk to-go service and there's a decent sized kitchen. There was adequate staff on hand, I saw 2 chefs, 2 wait staff, and 2 or 3 people in the kitchen. Ultimately the sauce-driven sushi is not for me and there's not a fun staff or environment I want to re-visit to try ordering something else another time.

The food was extraordinary and some of the best sushi we have ever had. The spicy tuna roll, the edamame and the steak fried rice were so fresh tasting, it will make ya wanna slap ya momma. Perfect prep and presentation all the way around. ( P.S. - I am not advocating violence of any type when I say, "smack ya momma it was so good"... it's just a southern expression of something so unbelievably delicious !)

We were staying at the Lake and stopped in last night as I was craving something light and sushi. I looked on Yelp and read the reviews. We walked in about 830pm. It was pretty empty for the 4th of July. The female Asian server was very attentive. Although, she didn't really talk to me. She talked primary to the gentleman I was with. We ordered the speciality rolls: Dynamite, California Tempura, Super Crunch, Spider Roll and Rainbow. It was pretty filling and a lot of fun. I left stuffed.

My search for good sushi in Flowery Branch is over! Great little hidden treasure! I'd say this is the BEST sushi close to Flowery Branch. Generous portions, reasonable prices and best of all, delicious! I ordered the Jalapeño bomb (poppers) and they were amazing! I highly recommend them. They're not really spicy if anyone is wondering. And the monster sushi roll was very good. It was also a generous portion. I couldn't eat it all, had to take some home. I added eel sauce to my roll because I like a touch of sweet sauce. Overall, a great first experience and it won't be my last. I'll be back soon.

Kenzo recently opened up and we decided to try it for lunch as Sushi is one of our favorite cuisines. First off, the restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside and it's well designed. Very clean and well appointed. We met the the son of the owner who was our waiter and he explained they designed the interior themselves. For lunch, there is a limited menu, though plenty of choices. I went with the Volcano Roll special and opted for the 6 pieces of sushi. I figured the Sushi would probably be all fresh fish or tuna and was pleasantly surprised to get 6 completely different choices. Salmon, Tuna, White Tuna, Shrimp, Tilapia and Crab. The sushi was extremely fresh and flavorful, though the white tuna was my least favorite. A bit too oily for my taste, but it was good to try it as I've never had it. The volcano roll was not only delicious, but I appreciated the moderate size of it. Seems like the trend in sushi is to make the rolls so large you can't fit them into your mouth. This roll was just the right size. My wife being a vegetarian ask if she could modify the Bento Box lunch special to be all vegetarian and they happily obliged. All of her items were delicious and the fried rice was outstanding. We're thrilled to have Kenzo joining the neighborhood and it's a great addition to Buford cuisine. read more

Friendly service and excellent food! Stopped in and had supper on a weeknight. Place wasn't busy as it's a new establishment. I imagine that will not be the case for long as this is some top notch sushi and is very reasonably priced. Definitely give it a visit. It's nice to have some great places to eat without having to brave the Mall of Georgia crowds. As I live right around the corner I will definitely return! read more

This is my very first Yelp review. Ever. Since this place is so well reviewed, I really just wanted to warn people. My husband and I are avid sushi eaters and we decided to try a new place tonight. He just picked up an assortment of rolls and sashimi and brought it home for dinner. The fish was warm... granted it was take out, but my husband was only gone 10 minutes picking it up. My dynamite roll had HAIR twisted into the center of the roll. My salmon sashimi had pieces of bone. At this point we both lost our appetites completely, and we threw away a bunch of expensive fish. I love sushi, eat it on a regular basis, and I never have complaints or spit fish out and throw the rest of my dinner away. This may easily have been the worst sushi experience I have ever had. (Other notes: Miso soup not good/off-tasting, ginger dressing tastes like mayonnaise. Ok, I'm done.) read more

Very slow service! Ordered online via the Yelp app. I was informed that my pickup time was at 6:21 pm. Got to the location at 6:20 pm, and didn't get my food until nearly 7:30 pm. There was only 1 staff member working the entire restaurant and she was hustling around, however, she had nearly 15 tables and was not able to really keep up with the service. A young girl came in right around the time I was getting my food. She was starting to pick up with the service as well, but instead of helping seat people on the open table, she went straight to cleaning up the tables that were messy. (I think that she should have helped seat other patrons instead of cleaning up the other tables. There were plenty of tables that were empty at that time). I took the order to go, as noted above. I ordered a good amount (4 rolls, sashimi appetizers (9 pieces), a chicken teriyaki dinner as well as tempura. 1) The shrimp (4 pieces) and Vegetable tempura (4 pieces) were very small. It seemed as if the items that were used for the shrimp were mini shrimps 2) the rolls ordered were: California roll, mango crunch roll, Hawaiian Sunset Roll and Dragon Roll. - The California roll was small. barely had anything inside them, and was not really enough for a meal. - Mango crunch roll was overly covered in the 'tobiko crunch', however, was pretty tasty - The Hawaiian Sunset roll had a little kick to it, as they had sliced Jalapeno peppers on top, with a spicy sauce underneath. - The dragon roll was well put together and though a very simple roll, it had some great presentation to itself. 3) the Sashimi Appetizer had a great design to it, however, was small cut pieces. Other than that, the slices were pretty tasty. 4) The Chicken Teriyaki dinner was supposed to come with fried rice, instead, they did not include any rice. The amount of chicken that was in the meal was so small that my 3-year-old ate it all. You can get more chicken in the chicken teriyaki that they serve at the mall!. Though the food was decent, the wait time was unbearable. People who were seated left after waiting over 30 minutes to get their drink order placed. A 4-some left after they were denied another chair (5th) for her broken leg, and didn't get the booth that was able to accommodate because it was meant for 6+, however a 'regular' came shortly after with 3 people and were able to sit in that booth. I hope they figure out their staffing for the future. I hope no one has to experience that kind of wait in the future. read more

So happy we stopped in today for lunch. Lunch menu had a salmon hibachi meal that, to me, was better than the usual hibachi grill places, and I could just enjoy the quiet atmosphere and conversation lunch companion instead of the usual hibachi grill show. My salmon steak was perfectly cooked, miso soup much better than the broth I've gotten at the grill places and a ginger dressing on the salad that was light and amazing. My lunch companion made a meal of appetizers and was very happy. As a local I'm not real familiar with Japanese food but my meal was fresh and delicious, perfectly prepared and served. I'll be more adventurous next time. We'll be back again for sure! read more

I'm from Seattle so I was a little wary to try sushi down here, but I was not disappointed. Everything tasted good and fresh. We ordered a lot of food, spring rolls were good, gyoza was good, edamame, California roll, spicy tuna roll, and eel roll were all great. We will be back read more

The Sushi here is really really good. This is a regular and reliable place for us. We visit frequently. Its convenient, not overpriced, and clean. The only.reason I can't give it 5 stars is the service. They are very friendly, but are usually way understaffed. If the place is even 1/2 full, expect to wait longer than you should to get your food. Please hire more wait staff!!! read more

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant. We eat here several times monthly. The seaweed salad and sashimi are very fresh. We love the shrimp tempura appetizer, the dancing eel roll, the bento box with shrimp terrakyi and fried rice, the chicken fried rice, and of course the chicken, steak, shrimp and scallop hibachi dinners. They do not have a hibachi grill, so everything is prepared for you elsewhere, but the flavor of the dishes is spectacular. I love their ginger salad and miso soup too! I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is! Don't go there if you are in a rush. There are usually only two servers to cover the entire restaurant. They are hard-working and always as attentive as they can possibly be when every table is full on a Friday or Saturday night. So be patient and wait for your taste buds to be delighted! read more

Have gotten carry-out many times. Sometimes food is great. More frequently orders are overcooked and items are missing from order. Like rice!! Just today, again. So while food gets cold we have to drive back for fried rice. If they cannot get more consistent, time to look for another place. read more

Bad customer service . Take my drink order 10 minutes. Only 1 waitress was working as a server. I understand she is a little busy,but she never apologized about late. When she brought a my food, she never said anything. No friendly at all. I think she is not a server. She is food runner or something. She does not want tip. Food is just ok. Not too bad or very good. I know same or higher quality sushi restaurant with definitely higher customer service. I probably will not come back. read more

The prices are higher than other spots in the area. Been here a few times already. The best dish I had here was the Tuna Tataki. But none of the rolls made me want to try it again. I had the Kenzo chef rolls and etc. The rolls are large there, which I thought would be great. But not a good fit, cant talk or may fall apart read more

At first I was in love. Bento box was great. But I ordered salmon roe sashimi. They brought me a salmon roll. I told her it was wrong she didn't understand. I pointed on the menus to the salmon roe. She came back with salmon nigiri. I told her again and said "fish eggs. R-O-E" she said she didn't know what that was and went over to the cook and audibly complained about me. I was very uncomfortable at this point. Why is it on the menu if no one knows what it is. I came here specifically because they have that. I even called it by is real name, Masako. And she was mean to me. She acted like I was stupid. Told the cook I said roll when I didn't. I hate salmon rolls why would I order that? I mean I'd understand if I was rude or raised my voice but I was being extremely patient and understanding of our language barrier. I spelled things out, I spoke slowly, I even said that I was sorry.
