I had a…read morecraving for Indian and one my fellow yelpies recommended this place and told me they reopened the lunch buffet. I decided to try it out. It was very muggy inside to the point that the floors were slippery and I had to be careful walking. The buffet itself was lacking. Many of the dishes had no labels and there were no gloves for the shared utensils. Also, they are using plastic plates for the buffet. I tried a little of everything and the fried items were cold and old. The vegetarian dishes were also lukewarm. The chicken biryani was cold and the rice was crunchy. The butter chicken was very sweet. To the point I didn't recognize it. Most of the food was sweet. They brought out one naan. That was very salty and I couldn't finish it. Overall everything tasted modified and not authentic. There was only one sauced item with meat and that was butter chicken. The only other protein option was tandoori chicken so you won't have any options if you don't care for chicken. There was one chick pea dish, a potato dish, an okra dish, a veggie stir fry and that was pretty much it for mains. Overall I think they would fare better expanding their buffet. I would have rather ordered off the main menu. The staff was attentive and friendly. It's not the same lively and homey place I remember and frequented often when they first opened. Will I go back? That's a real tough question. To order off the menu, I might. But then I remember the last few visits and second guess the possibility. I would not come back for the buffet. There's plenty of parking in a shared lot. Maybe a fall hazard for those with assistive devices or mobility issues. The floor is clean but the humidity caused it to be very slick.

I thought the price was appropriate for adults, not so much for kids who eat very little. I loved their rice and chicken dishes. I would definitely return.

I like my food a little spicer than my partner, so I ordered my paneer as a 2 out of 5, and they ordered their korma as a 1, but it came to the table a solid 3-4. I wonder if it got flipped in the kitchen, since mine wasn't very spicy. But, when we asked for a new bowl of korma, they brought one to us within 5 minutes. Much better, if a good bit sweeter than I expected, having tried the first time, I wonder if they added more sugar to make sure it was not too spicy second time around. The naan was tasty, and I was very satisfied with my paneer. We'll definitely try them again. I'm looking forward to the dosa.

It was not busy on a Sunday and I'm guess it's geared towards people that work in the area on weekdays. Walking to the bathroom and bypassing the vacant security desk for the building was a strange experience. The menu is South Indian; there were some differences in what was online and what I found on the printed menu, but it was a wide and interesting selection with abundant options for special dietary needs. I ordered a dosa and an appetizer, which were splendidly presented on banana leaves. I asked for my Indo-Chinese paneer extra spicy, and they seemed a bit skeptical, but it did deliver a heck of a spice kick and an abundance of leafy tropical flavor (full curry leaves are common in this cuisine). The dosa was large, extra thin, quite salty, and satisfying. A chai was small and unsweetened. I didn't get quite the bustling atmosphere that their other location (in Cary) possessed and the menu for some reason did not have the kottu paratha I wanted to try, but I would definitely recommend anyone seeking some South Indian food to come here.

The staff were very friendly and it's a nice place, so I hate to criticize, but I gotta be honest. Firstly, the drinks. Among our table, we ordered a Mai Tai, a Whiskey Sour, and a Tamarind Margarita. The Mai Tai was so sweet it basically tasted like syrup -- undrinkable. The other two drinks were also way too sweet and lacking any alcohol content whatsoever. They really need to find a different bartender. As far as food, I really feel like the chefs aren't familiar with what Indian food is supposed to taste like. The chana masala was lacking in flavor, salt, and the tanginess that it's supposed to have. The palak paneer was also bland, and the spinach is normally chopped finer or even blended. The malai kofta was too sweet, and the menu didn't mention that it had raisins in it ... had that been clear, I wouldn't have ordered it. We also ordered dessert ... tried to get the rasmalai, but were told they ran out. So we got the gulab jamun and the kheer. The gulab jamun was fine. The kheer was awful. It was super thin and watery, instead of thick and creamy.

It's a casual restaurant but all the decor and the modern touches with Indian influence gives it a great sultry vibe. Food: top notch. Thus far is our favorite Indian restaurant out there. The naan itself is freshly made and SOFT, thick, and has a nice chew. Best naan in the triangle area. Highly recommend the bread basket as you get a good variety of their different naans. The paneer pakora is crispy, piping hot, and has a great cumin and lightly salted taste. In the middle is mint chutney so it's has nice layers of flavors. The lamb palak was super tasty as well! The spinach was nice clay cooked where it was creamy with no bitter after taste. The lamb was fall apart tender! The lamb jalfrezi was also a show stopper, it was spiced, slight tomato sauce, and lambs again, super tender that can be broken up with just fingers. The malai chicken was good, but wasn't our favorite. The meat is tender, but I felt like the flavor wasn't hitting as much as the other two. It was lighter and even with the lemon it still felt like it was missing something. Overall: will definitely be coming back!

Seeking takeout, I wanted a South Indian taste but the trademark delicacy from the region, the dosa (which this place does offer), does not travel well. As such, I ordered a bisibelebath, a lentil and rice mix with a distinctive mix of sour, spicy, and savory notes. I hadn't ordered that in years, but I wish I ate it more often. The restaurant is also notable for offering options with tofu for the non-dairy crowd, and I got a house special curry with peas to try that out, which was satisfying. A chaat with mixed chickpeas and potatoes was covered in abundant crispy noodles and delivered a sweeter but still savory flavor note. On the more indulgent side, I got a filled bread with some cheese. Even for takeout, they focused on making the experience outstanding. Everything was ready quickly, and they offered me a set of fryums, little starchy appetizers that are what I would have received had I eaten in. A spicy pickle of probably mango was included as well. Strangely, they still gave me yet one more dish I did not order. I found the smell of my takeout bag utterly foul, and discovered that they had given me some sort of cauliflower dish as well. I appreciate the thought, and they correctly gave me a vegetarian appetizer, but apparently they didn't consider that offering such a dish would not be a plus to those of us who are supertasters of cruciferous vegetables. I threw it out to prevent the food and my car from smelling like rotten eggs. Having said that, it wouldn't really be fair of me to knock them down for being generous. Clearly, the intent was to produce an outstanding experience, and while I did not have time to dine in, it would have been a nice place to do so.
