Admittedly, I haven't been here in years because my last couple visits weren't very good. I had a craving for Indian and one my fellow yelpies recommended this place and told me they reopened the lunch buffet. I decided to try it out. It was very muggy inside to the point that the floors were slippery and I had to be careful walking. The buffet itself was lacking. Many of the dishes had no labels and there were no gloves for the shared utensils. Also, they are using plastic plates for the buffet. I tried a little of everything and the fried items were cold and old. The vegetarian dishes were also lukewarm. The chicken biryani was cold and the rice was crunchy. The butter chicken was very sweet. To the point I didn't recognize it. Most of the food was sweet. They brought out one naan. That was very salty and I couldn't finish it. Overall everything tasted modified and not authentic. There was only one sauced item with meat and that was butter chicken. The only other protein option was tandoori chicken so you won't have any options if you don't care for chicken. There was one chick pea dish, a potato dish, an okra dish, a veggie stir fry and that was pretty much it for mains. Overall I think they would fare better expanding their buffet. I would have rather ordered off the main menu. The staff was attentive and friendly. It's not the same lively and homey place I remember and frequented often when they first opened. Will I go back? That's a real tough question. To order off the menu, I might. But then I remember the last few visits and second guess the possibility. I would not come back for the buffet. There's plenty of parking in a shared lot. Maybe a fall hazard for those with assistive devices or mobility issues. The floor is clean but the humidity caused it to be very slick.

I stopped by Taaza Bistro during one of my DoorDash pickup orders. The vibe of the restaurant was fine--clean, organized, and casual. I didn't have to wait long, which was perfect because I prefer to be in and out quickly.

I've eaten Indian food throughout the United States. Taaza is the best I've eaten--to my great surprise. Run to this restaurant ‍‍.

I was very excited to try this place but was disappointed with their South Indian food. We ordered gobi Manchurian for an appetizer which was pretty good just slightly salty. The main reason we had come was because we were craving dosas. I ordered a myssore rava dosa which I thought was extremely spicy. It did not taste like a traditional myssore dosa. Instead, it tasted more like a dosa with an indochinese twist as all I could taste was garlic. The Sambhar was very average and the chutney didn't taste fresh. The service was also extremely slow even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. I would give this restaurant another shot to try the Punjabi food but I do not recommend it if you're craving dosas, idli, or vada.

VERY GOOD! Punjabi Bhuna Ghosn (lamb/goat) delicious!! Palak Paneer equally delicious!! Everything else was was good.

Dosa with Sambar and coconut chutney! And a Margarita!

I have never had the full restaurant experience until I ate at this place! I cannot explain the flavors, no words do it justice! My personal favorites are the Idli Sambar and Baingan Bharta, got to have the papadam with the mint and tamarind chutney! By the way the serve the best margarita I have ever had, ginger tamarind! The cooks Satyam and Abhijit are award winning!

My meal in my truck (much more was still in COVID-19-induced to-go containers) was outstanding.

Great service and such a fun night! Food was wonderful, fresh, and yummy! They let us turn on the Super Bowl on their TV and it was a blast!

Everyone was super friendly from the hostess, waitervl etc. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala at spice level 4, and it was absolutely delicious. The spice level was perfect for me--definitely had some heat without being overwhelming. My husband ordered the House Special Chicken Biryani, which included both lamb and chicken, and he really enjoyed it. I'd say his dish was closer to a spicej that's level 3. Before our meal, we were served complimentary crackers and chutney, which were fantastic and a great introduction to the flavors we would enjoy throughout dinner. One thing that really stood out was the portion size. The servings were enormous! These days, with grocery and gas prices being what they are, it's refreshing to find a restaurant that gives you so much food for your money. We both had plenty left over to take home. Great food, generous portions, and a wonderful first Indian food experience. We'll definitely be back!

We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering and I was instantly in love with the decor and the friendliness of both the host and server. We began with water to drink, me skipping a mango lassi because I had decided I would have a dessert today since it had been awhile. My friend was a newbie to Indian food so I ordered for us and kept it simple. Palak Paneer and Chicken Mango Jalfreezie, with garlic naan. The papadoms and sauce were tasty and always a nice nibble while we wait for our dishes. Everything arrived hot and fresh and nicely presented. We were advised if we needed more rice to just ask. This is when the disappointment hit for me. While both dishes were good food, cooked well and nicely presented, the true Indian flavors were missing. I also did not detect mango in the dish that should have been flooded with that flavor. I do order my dishes mild, but I always do, and while that does impact the heat which I cannot tolerate, it has never once impacted the full flavor of all the spices. Until here. So sad, as someone who almost craves those flavors and had been looking forward to them all day. I've gone back and forth as to whether to give three or four stars, because everything really was nice but if I go to an Indian restaurant I really am hoping for Indian flavor. It was missing. If I could give 3.5 I would. My big question is always, would I return? I will not. I live in High Point and will continue to dine at the numerous Indian spots near home.

I tried a dish that I had never had before, as well as naan. (Because of course. How do you not get naan?) I wish I could say that it was worth the wait, but my experience here suggested otherwise. Positives first: Noor is both spacious and stylish with plenty of seating in both the bar and dining areas. Sujan proved to be an attentive and courteous server. That said, the buffet was somewhat underwhelming. It was smaller than those I've found elsewhere in the area. While it offered a solid mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, those offerings were the epitome of playing it safe. Only the hakka noodles (not always an Indian buffet staple) and butter chicken (better than average) really stood out. Nothing else, from the tandoori chicken to the daal to the naan, was prepared poorly, but it was fairly forgettable. Granted, buffet food needs to appeal to a wide range of diners with varying levels of spice tolerance, and so I went in not expecting any heat. Take spiciness out of the equation, however, and the flavors still felt subdued. At least the $20 seemed reasonable for what was offered. It's possible that Noor really shines if you order off the regular menu, and so I wouldn't rule out a return here. The next time I want a weekend lunch buffet, however, I think I'll stick to Taaza.

I ordered the honey cauliflower, garlic naan, veggie samosa, chicken lollipops, crispy okra, and paneer saag. A friend recommended this place, and somehow I managed to eat all of this by myself because it was just so good! The honey cauliflower was the standout for me. The pieces were big, perfectly crispy, and had a great balance of flavor without feeling overly breaded. The veggie samosa was also really well done, with a good filling-to-breading ratio. The chicken lollipops were exactly what I was hoping for, and the crispy okra was another highlight because it wasn't weighed down by too much breading. The only thing I didn't personally love was the paneer saag, but that was more on me because I didn't really read the description before ordering and it just wasn't what I was expecting. The sauce itself was really good, it just wasn't the flavor profile I had in mind. Overall, I think Taaza is hands down some of the best Indian food in the greater Winston-Salem area. Curry 'n Spice is definitely a big contender in the "greater high point area." I started off with the chili mo mo dumplings and these were some of the tastiest, best flavored dumplings I've ever had. Not only was the chili sauce great on the outside, the inside was perfectly flavorful as wells. Usually, one or the other are somewhat lacking but that is not the case at Curry 'n Spice! For my main meal I ordered the chicken tikka masala and you can't go wrong with this pick either. The rice portion was on the smaller end of places that I've been, but by no means was it lacking. The chicken chunks were a bit too big for my taste but the flavor and spice level (I think I went level 4) were enough to put this place in the top 2! Finally, the garlic naan was nice and fluffy with a slight crunch on one side, just how I like it. Full of flavor and has you wanting a second order. I will definitely be back to try those lunch specials!

After looking at the menus for a few places, Shukkranaa seemed worth a gamble. The menu boasts everything you'd expect (curries, biryanis, breads, plenty of vegetarian dishes), and under other circumstances, I'd be all over the chicken 65. However, I wanted to give one of their quick lunch specials a try. Available in vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions, the offerings change daily, but they include an appetizer, two curries, salad, rice, bread, and a dessert. At $13 veg/$15 non-veg, that seemed like a good deal for the money. I placed an online order for that day's vegetarian special (paneer kadhai and daal makhani), and it was ready when I arrived. Though Shukkranaa's location (a strip mall near a motel up 68) screams "nondescript," the interior seemed more inviting, and the gentleman at the register was polite. After a short drive home, I was able to enjoy a better-than-expected lunch. It came largely as advertised with a pakora as the appetizer, naan as the bread, and a piece of galub jamun as the dessert (though the "salad" was just a few assorted vegetables). The rice was fragrant, the sauces creamy, the portion size more than respectable, and to my relief, Shukkranaa does NOT hold back on flavor. I don't know if the dine-in experience would be as impressive, and there are certainly other Indian eateries to choose from in the immediate area, but for tasty, convenient takeout, count Shuukranaa as a name to remember.

I ordered some classic dishes. The chana masala I got with a spice level below the maximum nonetheless carried a powerful kick. But I also picked a cardamom pod and a clove out of it; these things can be annoyances to the uninitiated but the resulting flavor is worthwhile. Adding a bread and salad turned out to be wise given the heat level. Their interpretation of a salad was a sectioned head of greenery, some other vegetables, and a hint of spices and lemon. My plain paratha was a worthy contrast to the exciting flavors of my main dish. Adding some samosas sprinkles with spices made for a solid two meals at a very reasonable price. I thought I'd finished, but at the bottom of the bag was hiding some complimentary chutney and yogurt and a papadum. The setting was a repurposed fast food drive through. The food was totally worthwhile and despite the bevy of options throughout the settled parts of North Carolina, I experienced no regret at having made this my road trip stop.
