An unexpected and unique meal in Chapel Hill. We got the Mint Bomb (Pani-Puri) for an appetizer and it was so refreshing. I can't say I've ever had anything like it, which was cool. The crunch of the puri with the tartness of the mint water was fun. For my entree, I got the MoMo sizzler which was enormous. The garlic noodles were so good and the serving was enough for 3 people. Next time I'll order extra dumplings to go with the noodles.

Stopped in for lunch. The service was great. The food took a while but the owner (I think) took great care of me, even bringing me a cup of chai (which was delicious) while I was waiting. It's simple and not an overly fancy place but I really enjoyed the food. I'll definitely be back soon.

This place was solid overall. I would highly recommend the curry as it had a great flavor and the chicken was very tender. The dumplings and wings were nothing special with the wings having little flavor at all. The food came out quick and hot and the service was good.

I have a soft spot in my heart for this place! I love how the food is always piping hot. The momo's of course are a must order. They come with a tangy green sauce and a milder orange sauce. Last time I ordered the Masala tea which was so spicy, rich, and amazing. Also would recommend the Biryani. A star docked because I saw a baby cockroach :(

The food here is amazing! We got the jhol momos, dahi puri, and Momo chat. The jhol momos had more of a tomato flavor than I expected but the flavor grew on me. Overall, all the dishes were very good. Momo's master is a good option for vegetarians as well because most items have a vegetarian option. Also, despite being on Franklin street, it's not difficult to find parking here because there is a lot near the restaurant. The lot gets busy during game days but otherwise it's a safe bet.

We got the veggie sizzler momo, chicken Tikka masala, and the garlic naan. Its a casual-style restaurant where you pay first, and you get a number so they could drop off your food to the table you choose (self-serve seating). While they excelled in some dishes, others could improvement: -Veggie Sizzler Momo ($13.99) 5/5 - such a delicious dish with noodles served on a cast-iron pan and four veggie Momo's seasoned with ethnic spices. Noodles included cabbage, asparagus, onions and carrots. - Chicken Tikka Masala ($13.99) 3/5 - A few pieces of cubed pieces of chicken along with a large heaping of rice. The curry tasted a little sweeter than most curries, and dish could have used more chicken for a more satiating meal. - Garlic Naan ($4.99) 2/5 - Naan didn't actually have any garlic, and the bread wasn't authentic oven baked naan. Portion size was very small for $5. Flavor was OK. It was a self-serve restaurant, so minimal service but the cashier was friendly. Id come back again, but only for the Momo's.

Food was so good and was priced decently. Would go back here again if im ever back in town!

Super authentic Nepali restaurant lovated perfectly off of Franklin street in the heart of Chapel Hill. We were craving momos and this is the go to spot if you are in the area. It used to be Himalyan bistro and rebranded now however the food is delicious and service is amazing! The owners and servers are alll super sweet and kind and made for a very enjoyable experience. Their chutneys were delicious and flavorful and definitely satisfied our cravings. They also gave a us gulab jamun ice cream sunday on the house for Valentines Day which only made our experience sweeter and memorable. Kudos to the management for running this place like they do and I hope they stay in business forever!

Food is fantastic! You get a lot to eat for a great price. Highly recommend if you need good food fast!

A quaint place that looks like it decided to take over a diner environment (some counter stools still remain). The staff was incredibly friendly while you order at the counter and take your number to the table with plenty of suggestions. The food came out quickly and was pretty tasty all around. The paneer is a bit firmer than I usually enjoy, and the momo was packed on each other after steaming so all the wrappers were sticking together and ripping apart when separating them. Overall, the sauce for the paneer tikka was flavorful and the sauces that accompany the momo were some of the highlights of the meal.

This place was great! Came here with some colleagues for lunch. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant is very cute. I ordered the Momo Sizzler. Overall, great dish and generous portion. Next time, I'd probably just order the momos - the noodle sauce was a little tomato-y. The momos however were delicious!!! I got the veggie momos - the filling was reminiscent of a samosa (spiced potato/pea). I also tried the butter naan which was super soft and fresh. Definitely suggest this place if you're visiting campus or in the Chapel Hill area.

We were in town and saw this place had some good reviews and decided to try it out. Ultimately, we really enjoyed our experience! The place smells amazing and the incense is a nice homey touch. The booths are private and spacey (for those of you with dining in anxiety) and the little bar seats are cute. We came in looking confused and were welcomed and directed immediately. Drinks and food came out quick, and everything was super yummy. The only reason reason we wouldn't give it a total 5 is due to the price, we paid ~ $70 and some portions felt small. Specifically the tikki masala could have used more protein and I would have loved more veggies in with my noodles. Still a lovely homey meal, the pan fried chicken dumplings were really good and I enjoyed the sauces! * Also parking sucks, so maybe plan out beforehand!

I went with my friends here and I knew I was in for a good time since I've been once before. I got the chicken tikka masala and it was delicious. Great service and the staff was friendly. Lots of cool decor and music playing. Would recommend!

The atmosphere was lively with the number of people dining inside. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food took a while to come out, but it was worth it. My friends and I got the Chicken Tikka Masala, Gobi Manchurian, Vegetable Samosa, Mango Lassi, and Garlic Naan. The Vegetable Samosa was good, but nothing mind-blowing. They skimped out on the Gobi Manchurian, which was so crispy and well-seasoned. Mango Lassi was solid, slightly tart compared to others I have had before. I loved the Chicken Tikka Masala! So much spice and sauce in the bowl. It also tasted great with the Garlic Naan. This is a fantastic restaurant with delicious food. I should try Nepali food instead of reverting to Indian food, but it was too tasty to deny. I recommend everyone comes here for lovely South Asian food.

We came on a Friday evening and had about a 20-minute wait, but it was absolutely worth it once we were seated. Service stood out right away. Our waiter checked on us regularly and made sure our water glasses were always full, which is a small thing but goes a long way during a busy night. We started with ginger tea, which was warm, fragrant, and a great way to kick off the meal. For food, we ordered two appetizers, along with the chicken korma and butter chicken, and everything was phenomenal. The flavors were rich and comforting. One detail I appreciated was that the rice came in individual servings instead of one large shared bowl, which made it easier for everyone at the table. Great food, attentive service, and worth the wait, we'll definitely be back!

"Nepalese and Indian food in downtown Raleigh, near Marriott"…read more With a great location, this is VERY close to the Raleigh Convention Center. We arrived on a Thursday night at 6pm with a group of 5. The dining area didn't really accommodate a group that size, but they made it work by moving tables around, which was nice. The place was not very large, but there was maybe only one other family eating inside. The bathroom was clean. I split two dishes with my son-- salmon tikka masala and shrimp (prawn) saag, both coming with rice. We were given some papadum, I think, as a snack as we waited on the food, along with some spicy dips. Food came in maybe 10 minutes or so, which was great timing. However, I have to say, both dishes we tried were underwhelming. The shrimp was oddly translucent and not very flavorful in its dish, and the spinach in the saag wasn't especially tasty (though it did have a nice spiciness). The tikka masala sauce was great, but the salmon also was pretty underwhelming. We both said we'd probably just get chicken next time and not splurge the extra for the salmon. No dish was "bad", but just we expected them to be delicious and they were just OK. I'm just really surprised given how many people said this was the "best Indian" they'd had. The staff were friendly-- refilled drinks well and were good at answering questions. And the price was reasonable. Altogether, I'll give it 4 stars given the great location, good service, good price, but not 5 given the food was "just OK". Realistically, I probably wouldn't go back-- we have lots of great Indian in Durham and Chapel Hill, so I'd rather wait and get that.
