I recently used Kerb Movers to help my Grandparents move from their home to a smaller condo. I was supposed to move all their belongings as a family, but I just switched teams at work and the rest of my family was extremely busy. We found these movers on Yelp and we are SO glad we went with them. They were very professional and moved all of my Grandparent's belongings in a timely fashion and were very careful. There were no scratches on any of our furniture and they even wrapped our valuables in bubble wrap and moved them in special crates. They were so nice and trustworthy with all of our valuables. I'm so glad that I decided to choose Kerb Movers to get the job done. I recently moved from San Mateo to Alhambra and I was very nervous about how the entire process was going to turn out because it's quite a long distance away. I came across this company on yelp and decided to give it a try... and it's safe to say that I have no regrets. I basically just called in and was able to get a quote, and they even gave a free in-home estimate. Considering all the stuff that I had, and the distance to my new destination, it was quite affordable. I like how they have reasonable pricing for quality service. The movers were timely, professional, and handled all my items with care. I've heard some scary stories with other companies where they just throw your things around, but that was not the case here. I had some fragile items that I was worried about, but they have all the equipment and storage items/bins that you would need to safely transfer them. I'm glad that I've finished relocating, and that Kerb Movers helped me in the process. It probably would have been so much more hectic if I tried moving all my things myself. I had the worst moving experience of my life with Kerb movers today. I'd prefer to name and shame, but unfortunately I do not remember the foreman's name. My review deals almost entirely with my interaction with him, however. This was for an international move, and I'd made all arrangements with a different moving company. Kerb was responsible for dispatching the movers, and the only reason I know this is because of the truck they came in. The bad: 1. Foreman had an absolutely deplorable attitude from the first minute that he was here. When I showed him things like the electric piano or the TV, he scoffed and his comment was "you're supposed to pack this stuff, bro". I've never had a mover say this to me. When I call movers, I expect that additional boxing or just adding stuff to the load is part of the job, and something I'm more than willing to pay for. 2. As we kept a running count of stuff, I naturally wanted to understand what I was getting into once it looked like things would go over the initial size discussed. He had zero patience at this point, constantly pressuring me to decide if things should go or not. The attitude I mentioned earlier continued. He packed or hauled everything in a huff, constantly scoffing and throwing tantrums while doing so. In the end, I had to end up junking or throwing away a lot of stuff that I'd have preferred to take with me. 3. Once we did go over capacity, I spoke to the sales person and discussed pricing and asked the movers to add everything that was left. The foreman point blank refused and yelled at me saying "you keep adding stuff bro". I tried to reason with him by saying that for him this might be a job, but for me this was everything I owned, and moreover, it's not like I asked him to add it for free. After refusing however, he went into the truck and decided to sit and have a smoke, instead of taking the stuff I asked him to, and the other two movers stopped working as well. They did this for about 10-15 minutes. If they were so sensitive about the timing of their next job, why did they spend 10-15 minutes doing nothing instead of finishing the requested task? 4. I noticed the movers throw the TV box into the truck. I worry about the state of that box's contents now. And by extension, I'm worried about the state of all the things they took. 5. Before the move I had agreed with the sales person about hauling away and junking a desk I owned. The foreman absolutely refused to take that as well. I had to argue and beg and plead and I made no fewer than six calls to the salesperson before it was finally done. This wasted nearly 25-30 additional minutes. They could have been done 35-45 minutes earlier if the foreman's attitude wasn't so combative. Again if the timing was so sensitive, why waste 30 minutes doing that instead of just finishing a task which, in the end, took them literally three minutes to complete? I naturally refused to sign until they hauled the desk. The foreman threatened to leave my stuff and go. The foreman's constant complaint was that this wasn't the amount of stuff that was discussed before. However, again, it's not like I expected them to take this stuff for free. I expected full service movers that would pack and move everything I've asked and do it with a smile. This is absolutely the worst experience I've had with a moving company. read more

I requested a quote online on 6/25/17 and confirmed the reservation for a move on 7/1/17. I called 6/29/17 to confirm just in case and they said they didn't have the information in the system but that they could book be on the phone right there which was fine. I would have been happy with that. Then the salesperson Luke stated the quote would be $30 more per hour than what was provided to me online. I asked for an explanation and Luke said that's just how it is. He was very rude! I went online again to request another quote to see if the rates had changed but the quote given to me again online via email and via text were $30 less. I called Luke again asked why the prices he was quoting were $30 more per hour (WHICH IS SIGNIFICANT!). Luke was so rude and never addressed my concerns. Horrible customer service. This was, hands down, the worst moving experience I have ever experienced. This company contracts out to movers, which is standard practice, but we were ensured that the movers would have tools with them to disassemble furniture. When the movers first showed up, the were quick and efficient, until, after we had told them to disassemble a desk before moving it several times, that the desk broke in half and the move quickly went sour. We had informed the movers several times, not only before the movers showed up, but to the movers themselves, the importance of having the desk disassembled before moving it. Without any communication to us, they had the desk loaded on the dolly, resting on the legs and it promptly sheared in half, leaving it completely useless and broken. When we called Kerb, the sales person we talked to informed us that he would talk to a supervisor and be right back with us. At this point the actual movers had grown belligerent and were threatening to remove all of our furniture from the truck. We asked if we could please talk to their supervisor, they were able to talk to this individual, why couldn't we? After about 30 minutes the movers began swearing at us in spanish and started to remove all of furniture and goods off the truck. They threw our furniture on the sidewalk, while swearing at us about how little money they made (Hey, if I felt like I didn't make enough money, I'd be happy to let a customer sit around and talk to my supervisor, that's time I get paid for). We remained polite throughout the interaction and before they left, they refused to allow us to check the truck to see if they had removed from everything and literally damaged EVERY piece of furniture that they had touched. We were assured by the sales people at Kerb that they would immediately call us back regarding when another truck could come to move our things. They promised a return call within 30 minutes and hours passed before we heard from them again. In that amount of time we could competent movers who finished our move, quickly and professionally. We did not hear back from Kerb about having another crew come and finish our move until after the other movers had completed our move for us. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We had to replace a huge amount of office furniture and did not deserve or need to tolerate the disrespect of these movers. read more

Short short version: Do not hire them for a big move. Info: Move was from San Mateo to Foster City. Pros: 1) They called an hour in advance to let us know they were on the way 2) They worked the entire time and I did not feel like they were stalling 3) They were very nice and appeared to have done this before Cons: 1) They broke a desk on accident (IKEA so I wasn't shocked), but then one of them spent an hour fixing it while I was being charged for his time. 2) The truck they brought was not big enough for all of our stuff so they had to make 2 trips. 3) Even after the second trip, not everything had been moved, so we had to go back. 4) Even though all of the boxes were very clearly labeled, they would stack boxes on top of each other and just leave them in the room that the top box was labeled with. This means that after they left, many many boxes were in the wrong place. Neutral: 1) They tell you that they will give you wardrobe boxes, but they take a lot of time to pack and unpack them. I would recommend packing everything possible and leaving almost nothing to put into these. I would have given 2.5 stars, but since that is not an option I went with 3. read more

Though my notice was short Nick promised my car will be picked the window which I have asked and it was picked on the very next day itself. I moved from Oakland to NY on relatively short notice (2 weeks) and I am so happy I chose Kerb. They got back to me with a quote right away, and their online tool made everything so easy with inventorying my stuff and pricing the move. No hidden fees, and super friendly customer service. Could not say the same for other movers I contacted, who were slow to respond or not accurate with pricing. Kerb is tech-savvy and will do as much as you need with the move (packing, assembling furniture, etc.). The operations is smooth. They always kept me up to date about when the movers would arrive in Oakland, and their progress across the country. It took 2 weeks for my things to get to New York. Once the stuff is loaded on the truck and on its way, I got a daily update on where the truck was. Any time I reached out to them, they were friendly and responsive. Kerb is awesome! I love their service! I was super excited because my best friend was moving from San Mateo to my hometown SJ! She needed to find a moving company and asked me because she was swamped with packing and all that other stuff. I looked up movers on Yelp in San Mateo and Kerb popped up. I clicked on request a quote and almost got a quote immediately. I told my friend to use them because they were so nice and friendly. Moving day came and I was at my girls house to help. They came earlier than expected and started to help disassemble her furniture and even packed her important stuff she had marked valuable in these special bins. They were quick but very careful when they carried out all of the furniture. When we followed them to their new location they unloaded everything correctly and carefully placed all my friend's items wherever she wanted them to. I had a Kerb crew (I forgot the guy's name even though he told me, sorry!) move me from San Mateo to Oakland. It took only 6 hours including double drive time, which was great. They were also the best rate of the 3 places I looked at. One thing to note is that they only have basic insurance (insured by pound, not value of item), but I was only moving mostly ikea furniture so I didn't care and nothing happened. I recently moved from CA to TX. After getting the requisite 3 quotes and researching companies on the BBB and FMCSA I chose Kerb. They weren't the lowest quote (all of which were within $1,000 of each other) but their regular follow-up and tech-savvy operations really impressed me. On the day of my move, Kerb showed up on time at the beginning of the arrival window they quoted me and got to work. I packed all of my small belongings myself ahead of time and as a result they emptied my entire apartment in 3 hrs with skill and care. The walls and hardwood floors of the apartment were all undamaged at the end of the move-out all of my furniture and artwork was wrapped very carefully. I received my belongings on day 6 of the 14-business-day window they gave me for delivery. The movers on the TX end were equally efficient and careful and unloaded everything into my new apartment in 2 hrs. They even offered to deliver my grill to my brother (who lives 10 mins away) since I wan't allowed to use the grill in my new apartment. Everything arrived safely and unbroken--no losses or damage to anything. Moving is always stressful but Kerb did everything that a company can do to make moving easier and more straightforward. We used Kerb for a long distance move from California to the east coast. While communication was easy and pleasant, I cannot recommend them as they lost 3 of our large oil paintings, all of our picture frames, and a huge silver mirror. I am not sure how these items managed to disappear, but they did not arrive with the rest of our things and have not been found by the company. The compensation offer we were given hardly matched anywhere near the cost of what replacing these items would be. As a result, I am disappointed in Kerb's services, and would caution others before using them. read more

I obtained quotes from a number of moving companies and chose to go with Kerb. The Kerb crew had good communications, were very professional, and performed a successful move. I give them 4 out of 5 stars only because: - They used a WHOLE LOT OF BROWN TAPE to tape up boxes and things that were already taped up with clear tape. I understand to some extent that they did this to make sure items inside the boxes weren't damaged. But a lot of these boxes were ones we intended to use for ongoing storage and the brown tape kind of ruined the look of those boxes for our future use. Wish they had used clear tape or asked first. - They quoted us about a 6-hour move and 1 truckload based on the size of our home, but the actual move actually took 11-hours and 2 truckloads. And this was already based on asking them to quote us at a larger home-size because we knew we had a lot of stuff. We also prepacked everything so the extra time had more to do with them trying to fit boxes into a truck that was smaller than needed. - When they disassembled the bed, they forgot to pack the screws - resulting in an 11th hour trip back to go get them. read more

I used Kerb for a San Francisco to San Mateo move last weekend and they were fantastic. They called an hour before their expected arrival time to confirm, and then called 15 mins after that to ask me if it was OK if they came 30 mins early because there was no traffic. This was probably my first time dealing with a moving company where I had such little interaction with them during the moving process, which is a good thing. Usually movers are complaining about having to take apart furniture or if something is too heavy, these guys knew exactly what to do and got right to it. I don't even know where they parked the truck in SF, where street parking is rare and my (now former) apartment complex is always yelling at people to move their cars. Unloading and setting up at my new place was easy and seamless too. They even left behind the wardrobe boxes, which is quite the commodity given how often I move. read more
