Had a MRI with contrast. Andrea called the day before my scan to remind me no food drinks or water 4hrs hours before my scan. I got there 7:30am. The girl at the front desk was really polite and welcoming. The waiting area was clean and plenty of chairs to sit in. The girl who took me back was really nice and explained clearly where to change, use the temporary locker and where to sit. My scan went by fast. The nurse who put my IV, the nurse who setup the machine for the contrast and the MRI technician were very professional clear and welcoming. It was a great experience for a 61 year old senior. The staff who work behind the scenes are nice but receptionists and billing leave something to be desired. I had an MRI at the 9330 Stockdale location. Receptionist charged me twice on my debit card. I showed her the charge and she said, " it's processing," and that the charge would fall off. I asked to speak to the manager, Muriel. She agreed with the receptionist. BOTH CHARGES WERE TAKEN OUT OF MY BANK, just as I told her they would. I called a couple times and they would not put me through to manager, stating she was "busy" or at lunch. The experience was blah. We did all the pre-appointment paperwork online the Friday before in preparation for a Monday appt. It was MLK holiday and granted, a lot more patients in the queue. When we finally got to the front of the line, despite having provided the copy of the appointment confirmation, the gal still looked at me dumbfounded. Upon entering, there's a whole side of at least 4 clerks who check in customers and process insurance information. Their vibes were off because it looks like they are all miserable.. on an early Monday morning no less. People come to this establishment, not because they want to, but because they need to. Whether it's a simple x-ray, mammogram or an MRI, people at the customer desk need to show a bit more compassionate. Yes, it's monotonous work but it's important work. The radiologic techs are excellent. Just by observing from the lobby, they show care when dealing with patients. When you call Kern Radiology to schedule an appointment , they keep you waiting for long periods of time. I called to schedule an appointment today. I was kept waiting for 30 minutes. The representative was rude and impatient. The medical front desk staff are unfriendly. The medical staff are excellent. I have been to this facility multiple times. read more

I have had a few good experiences with KR through the years. I have had multiple bad ones. But now they have cancelled my CT scan 3 times (the last time was one hour before my appointment!). They cite various reasons. But the last time was no authorization from my insurance (for the second time). Even if that were true, which it isn't because my insurance doesn't require authorization, why wait until an hour before my appointment. At this point I decided to not to the scan. NOW THEY TEXT, EMAIL, AND CALL DAILY TO RESCHEDULE. Why would I reschedule if they just keep canceling my appointments?!?! The incompetence of their system is beyond me. They are constantly HARASSING me to schedule appointments they keep canceling for bogus reasons. You can't even talk to people onsite. Avoid Kern Radiology if at all possible. read more

To get an appointment with this place is ridiculous you have to call and be on hold for an hour each time and it kicks you back to caller 18 when your finally number 1. It's just ridiculous and it's already nerve wrecking that your trying to get appointments to see if you have any cancer let alone getting the back and forth from them and when you finally get through they're rude and don't have your referral they expect you to call back and wait another hour or longer. This place is a joke. I don't recommend unless you have nothing to do all day but wait an be on hold. read more

I went to this radiology location yesterday on March 26th and I received exceptional care from Monica during my fetal anatomy scan follow-up. Getting checked in was very easy. The receptionist was incredibly kind and provided additional information when I had questions. Monica did an amazing job getting the remaining images that were needed of my pregnancy which was incredibly appreciated because I was nervous prior to my appointment. She listened to what I had to say and heard the information I was providing to her regarding my baby's activity and so upon hearing that information she worked with what she was told and really did her best. She also had me move positions which allowed her to get better images and this was not previously done at another appointment. I really appreciated her willingness to make things happen and her patience to make things happen, so thank you so much Monica! read more

the staff that did my ultra sound was just delightful. It was the front desk staff and their customer service. When they called me to schedule the appointment they said that I had a copayment of 200 and something dollars, that seemed a bit high but I was like okay that will make me go into the copayment of my insurance. After being charged a copayment I go to my claims page and they had charged the insurance company more and said they only charged me 10 dollars. The insurance company and I tried to call them and we were left on hold for hours. I finally got thru to their corporate office and I got told that there was no such payment. I was like I have the receipt from you and from the credit card saying I did pay it. Plus I was turned away the first time due to lack of payment (my card got locked). They told me that only the office could verify the payment and it would take7 business days for someone to explain why the payment didnt exist. To top it off I had asked them several times to check that my insurance had gone thru and I was guaranteed that I could get a refund if the insurance had paid. HAD I NOT CHECKED THEY WOULD OF POCKETED MY money and the insurance companies money. Its a shame because the techs are amazing. read more

They scheduled me for a CT scan at this location. First time here, it's very busy. Person checking in was no nonsense, no warm fuzzies. Girl who brought me back to where I will be getting the CT was very nice, as was the tech giving me the scan. I liked that I didn't have to wait long and the CT was maybe 5 minutes and I was out of there. read more

Appointments mean nothing. Stopped by and made an appointment for the next morning at 8:05 and did the paperwork. Got there 15min before my appointment and was told I had to wait in the line again and that took 30min to get through the line, then waited another 20min before being called back for my X-ray. I am supposed to get a CD of my x-ray and was told i have to back through the same line that ran out the door. The people are very nice but the whole process is ran very inefficient. read more

Last August they diagnosed my breast cancer. Before I had surgery I needed a CT of my breast to check placement of tumor. The male tech could not find a female tech to help with placement of my breast in device so he explained to me what to do and left room. Before he left I told him I was not comfortable with this. He said you got it. A week ago a chest X-ray showed a mass in my right lung. So a chest CT was done on Tuesday of last week. Today Monday still not read. I was told I can come get a disc of test. What good does that do me? I hate this place!!! read more

Today I had a appointment at 11:30. I was told to show up at 11:25 and when I walked in there wasn't anyone in line. I was immediately greeted by a friendly girl at the front desk and given paperwork to be filled out. The waiting room is large and comfortable with plenty of chairs and a television to watch. I was called back at 11:45 to get my X-rays done. A really nice lady named Michelle helped me. I definitely would return to Truxtun Radiology for my next X-rays. I am just here for the free MRI's, jk. I scheduled my appt over the phone for a MRI for my knee and the person that assisted me over the phone was very friendly and helpful. I arrived, signed in and filled out some quick paper work. Lady at the counter was also very friendly and helpful. My wait time was not long and in less then 20 minutes I was in getting my MRI. The gentlemen that assisted me during that process were also very friendly and professional. Overall I had a good experience here today. For the building itself it is located in a great area. I arrived for my appointment (2:50pm) at 2:35pm 15 minutes early and 5 minutes early for their required arrival of 10 minutes early. I was the only one waiting in line. All three girls said at different times someone will be right with you. I waited 7 minutes before getting called up to the desk. Got to the desk gave the usual required ID and insurance card. Girl looks up that I am to have a bone density X-ray I confirm. So Now it's about 2:45pm I'm thinking to myself cool, I'll be in on time and out the door by 3. Well the girl then says you're not approved yet I have to call the doctor's office to get an approval. Now ai am totally confused because the radiology department called me to make the appointment 10 times over 12 days, I received 12 emails and 12 texts to make my appointment. So that's 36 reminders which was a headache in itself. Now I'm confused even more. She says I have to wait for the approval and I said to her if it's not approved in five minutes I'm leaving because you should NEVER send 36 reminders to make an appointment only to have a patient show up and then have to wait longer for an approval which should have been done before all those ridiculous reminders were sent to me. Now I'm late for my appointment. At 3:01 it gets approved and I said I better be in the room for my X-ray in five minutes because I'm not coming back. I was here 5 minutes early before your requested arrival of 10 minutes early. I was in at 3:06 and done at 3:16. So ten minutes for the X-ray and I give the technician 5 stars. This company needs to do things differently absolutely ridiculous. My next imaging is with a different company let's hope it's more professional and on the ball with check in. read more

(10.12.22) Staff is completely rude & has no customer service at all! Mind you the reason for the visit to begin with wasn't for anything exciting obviously . I brought my daughter for an ultrasound to make sure that she does not have a kidney infection ,stones, tumor etc. So as a mother I already feel on edge Well when I arrive to Kern Radiology the check in lady that I did not get to catch her name unfortunately she was the only one that had on "pink scrubs" she asked who would be watching my other daughter that is 10 years old while I'm inside the ultrasound room with my eight year old daughter because they would not be responsible for my daughter she stated (as if she was a 2 year old) I answered to the check in lady if my daughter is unable to come into the ultrasound room then she can sit in the lobby she's old enough to sit down & that she would be fine & I told her no one told me this policy when I scheduled the visit just last-night (10.11.22) she asked if anyone could come & pick her up . I told her no that her dad is at work an I had no one else to pick her up and I had just picked them both up from school across town to drive way over here because this was the only location to see my daughter the quickest ! The check in lady then just gave me a form and said they would call us back shortly Mind you I have no problem following policies & procedures but have I known this I would of planned accordingly & again all they told me when I scheduled was to make sure that my 8 year old daughter drank 2 bottles of water 1 hour prior to her appointment well they eventually called my daughter & myself to the back so I told my 10 year old we would be right back again she was fine she was sitting there on her iPad. Well that same check in lady went to the back as we were sitting in the back & told me so rudely with an ugly attitude " I told you we aren't responsible for your daughter " I told her she's fine no one can come & pick up her up" So yes long story short she was very rude & made my daughters feel unsafe. I will make sure to never have any of my appointments scheduled there for myself or my children & I recommend that they would be sure when scheduling appointments to make sure to mention that you can not bring your kids even if you think they are old enough to sit by themselves. read more

Wife went here for a CT Myelogram to locate a CSF leak. Doctor did the scan and seemed more concerned about us being vaccinated for Covid rather than finding the CSF leak. He told us there is no leak present and kept talking about the vaccine. Over and over. Here we are 8 months later and Cedars-Sinai looked at the scan and told us that there is a significant leak present in the scan that Kern Radiology did and couldn't find. Cedars-Sinai ordered another scan to pinpoint the leak and we just found out today they have pinpointed the exact location. We all make mistakes, but just maybe, if the doctor wasn't so concerned about the Covid vaccine, he may have paid more attention to the scan and saw the leak as well like the doctors at Cedars. We gave this review 2 stars because the other scans and interactions with people here were good. read more

Had some work done here, an MRI. Appointment was at 6:30, they asked that we be 30 minutes early. So we were. About ten minutes of paperwork, then maybe a five minute wait and called back. The technician asked the same questions as on the paper we filled out, I have no trouble with the redundancy. He also gave us a key and showed us a locker for items that cannot go into the procedure room. He took us back explained a bit about the procedure, (it was the forth time). Gave us ear plugs and one of us ear muffs. The procedure started, and within fifteen minutes we were finished. Walked out of this place at just 6:45. This facility has ample parking, and is a cleaner more modern facility than downtown. The people working here are polite and helpful. One tip that I would recommend is for the person in the room with the loved one being MRI'd should wear ear plugs AND the ear muffs on the outside. That machine is earsplittingly loud. read more

I was seen on 4/18/18 at the stockdale hwy location. The positives are the location was in a good area, and the facility looked Modern, updated, & in style. The ladies at the front seemed pretty nice. I wouldn't say bubbly personality but not RUDE. I get seated and wait, wait, wait! I do not like waiting! I had 4 kids out the car with my husband so he had to leave, take the kids to McDonald's, bc what I thought would be 30-45 mins turned into much longer! I had an appointment at 3:30 they asked me to be 15 minutes early so I was. I walked out at 4:42.. my ultrasound only took 15 minutes max. So the rest of the time was just waiting. Ridiculous. I saw several people in there getting frustrated bc of the wait. The lady who called me back and the lady who did my ultrasound was friendly. But they gotta fix this wait time. If I have an appointment at 3:30 and I came early to do all my paper like you requested then I should be getting called back at 3:35.. 3:40 at least! I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

The experience that I recieved here was the worst I've ever had in my life. My mom has Cancer. She needs a biopsy and was scheduled for today March 18th... my 40th b-day... I'm her son. I drove 300 miles to take her to the appointment and be by her side. After showing up a half our early, we sat for 2 hours in the waiting room before I went to ask why the wait was so long. They lost my moms checkin, canceled her appointment, and was told by the rude manager we needed to reschedule. For our 2 hour wait we watched these employees eat pizza, laughing, goofing off, while they fail their patients that have cancer and never check them in after taking IDs and signatures... what a joke. Most of the reviews are several years old and I consider them a disservice to this establishment. I went for an ultrasound on my legs this week and was apprehensive about going there. Fortunately my experience was not at all like most I had read. I arrived a few minutes earlier than they had asked. Check in was fast, efficient and friendly. The technician who performed the ultrasound was pleasant, efficient and helpful. Less than an hour after arrival we were finished and pulling out of the parking lot. I would definitely be willing to use them again if needed. read more

Truxtun Radiology's billing department suuuuuuuuucks!!!! I just spent over an hour on the phone trying to get back money that I never should have had to pay up front in the first place. Of course they never told me about this credit, I had to find out by asking. Then, after languishing on hold and stuck in their phone tree, when I finally got someone on the phone who could actually help me, she told me repeatedly that she "couldn't believe other departments sent me to her". But you know if I owed them money, they would crawl up my every nook and cranny to get it!! My message to you, Truxtun Radiology: get a different biller! These folks are totally unprofessional. I've been to more than my fair share of hospitals, clinics, labs, etc. Some good. Some bad. Every time I get sent to somewhere new, there is a little momemt of hesitation while you wonder which way it's going to be. I first came to Truxton for my very first mammogram ever. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous. Even though I have a lot of experience with medical issues, I still dread going. Upon arrival, the check in was quick and the wait minimal. The technician was extremely coutreous and explained the process thoroughly and answered my questions. In fact she was quite compassionate alleviating much of my nerves. Shortly after that visit, I found myself back there for a CT scan. Once again, the wait time was very brief. As before, the technician (a different one) was friendly and informative throughout the whole process. I have sat in a lot of waiting rooms over the years... This place was clean, quiet, and fast. They were efficient and friendly enough. I do not mind going here at all. I feel they do their job quite well. That is saying alot these days. read more

I made an appointment here in order to get an ultrasound for a missed miscarriage. I made the appointment over the phone for 2:30. When I arrived at the office I was told that I didn't have an appointment scheduled at all. Had to wait a half hour just to do an ultrasound that I knew would take about ten minutes. Come to find out when I got to my Doctor's office, they didn't send over the results the next day like they promised. I hope I never have to go back here and whomever is scheduling needs to make sure they're doing their jobs. Update : I had to call their office in order to get my ultrasound results sent to my doctor even though it was a "stat". I will never go here again. I was very fortunate, I guess, that I had a good experience. I had an ultrasound appointment and the hubby was with me. The wait was 30 mins. & the place was pretty packed but patients were called in left to right. Once I was finally called in, my tech was very nice but it did felt like I was rushed. She had to do measurements to my baby first and my dear husband had to wait outside in the lobby. It didn't take long until she called him to see our precious and she was very nice about it. I forgot her name but she kinda reminded me of Raven Simone lol Mind you... Recording is not allowed. Unless you were a ninja... Overall it wasn't too bad.. The wait can be annoying, of course... But that's expected for a busy clinic. I give it three stars because I did felt rushed and the wait time makes you wanna go take a nap. The place is pretty clean but sadly only one unisex bathroom in the lobby. Dunndunnn I have no experience for the billing dept. because I have free healthcare. read more
