I had a Dr visit due to my diabetes, yes, I have diabetes, unfortunately it was handed down by genetics. lol. Anyways, I was getting some numbness in my leg and my Dr sent me to Kern Radiology/Downtown to check my spine and lumbar. The staff were super friendly and respectful. The technician was polite and gave instruction for the x-ray in detail. I was comfortable. The only con was, they were super busy and the wait was extensive, but it's understandable. If I could give Kern Rad ADVANCED on 16th Street (which I consider downtown) 10 stars, I would. Every single employee whom I have had the most distinct pleasure of interacting with on a personal, as well as professional level, was precisely that...PROFESSIONAL. Not to mention kind, courteous, helpful, and willing to answer any and all of my questions, observations, and input. My recent experience at the MRI facility downtown was STUPENDOUS! I really mean that in ALL sincerity!! STUPENDOUS. Erica and Liz treated me like I was their mother. Respectful, kind, offering assistance whether needed or not, very communicative regarding my safety, i.e., the floor sloping, the upraised copper threshold leading in to the MRI room, and even where the bar was on the MRI machine - guiding my hand to grab it for my safety. UNHEARD OF PROFESSIONALISM THIS DAY AND AGE. As far as the reviews I read that have few stars, after I read them, I honestly couldn't fully understand what the review was trying to convey. Was it because of the lack of education regarding sentence structure, vernacular, proper grammar, punctuation, stream of consciousness when attempting to write an ENGLISH sentence to convey to the reader just what the writer means??? Oh gosh, you got me... WTF? Where did these people go to school? In the United States...oh, yes, most assuredly - or hey, maybe not? Who the HELL knows these days? I even had the speechless experience at a local medical office when the MA who took my blood pressure admitted they did not know what the word OCCASIONALLY meant - and most assuredly, did not have any idea how to spell it. This is an absolute TRAVESTY! (Ok ya'll, look that word up if you don't know what the hell it means...). There's no shame in educating yourselves to better communicate using ENGLISH - GOD FORBID!!! And, I speak SPANISH, too. Such a beautiful language, as well as people. STOP criticizing others who speak a different language if you do not understand what they mean!!!! I arrived at 7:45 for a 8:20 appointment. They ask you arrive 20 minutes early but I am an over achiever. I was 3 rd to sign in. At 8:15 no-one had been checked in but they called the 3 people in front of me then stopped. Two ladies went into an office behind the wall and chatted for 20 minutes. One finally came out and took a sign in of a patient who had just arrived. A ultrasound from her discomfort. The second lady from the back room came to the desk and chatted with the woman doing sign ins for 10 minutes. Meanwhile one person has been checked in and one person has been admitted and it is 8:40 and I have not even been checked in. read more

I am always treated professionally and with respect at this facility. Parking is often a problem, though and that is why the four stars instead of five. Also, the hand sanitizer is so runny they have to put a trash can under it to catch the drips. It ended up making me cough the smell of it was overwhelming. read more

My doctor sent me for an x-ray and decided to go to this location due to it being open after 5pm. The staff at the front desk were very kind and helpful. I didn't have my insurance card on me but I did have a picture of it so they sent me a text message link so I could upload it and they got it immediately. The rest of the check-in process went very smoothly. The x-ray technician was kind and talkative, he explained the process to me and gave clear instructions. I was in and out very quickly, will definitely come back should I need another x-ray. Thanks! read more

They asks that you arrive 20mins prior to your appointment, to get paperwork out of the way, definitely make that 20mins if you're able. It makes things go more smoothly. I Came by to get a mammogram and ultrasound. Ladies behind the counter were kind and professional. It was an afternoon appointment so, I'm sure they were at the end of their day and all tired. It didn't stop them from being nice. My appointment was @3pm and I was back in my car heading home by 4:23pm. The facility is clean and well kept. It's an older building so there is the evidence of wear and tear on the building itself, but nothing that suggests the staff isn't keeping with standards or protocols. Hope my review gives some peace of mind to anyone heading that way. The reviews had me hesistant when I went and I was prepared to have an unpleasant visit in all honesty. Worst of the worst!!! I went to get an xray and when I was called, the lady asked for my insurance and ID. I told her that the school said they are the one paying for it as it is a requirement for school which I told the rudest lady in the counter. She then said that **"I don't have time for this" and transfer me over to the other lady. Why are these people being hired as front staff when they don't know customer service!!! The receptionist was rude and refused to give my husband a mask stating "we only provide them for patients". Ten mins later a woman came in with her older son and the staff member must have had amnesia because she didn't give them the same bs speech. Her demeanor changed really quickly. I came in for an x-ray at Bahamas around 3:45pm and they told me they no longer take walk-in when their hour of operation is 8am to 5:30pm. Good thing I have a friendly and helpful staff that said she can get me in at another location down town Truxtun Ave. Then I came here as instructed and the Reception was able to get me in even without an appointment. I was glad I can get in since it's so hard to try to take time off work to get this done. Service is not as quickly as expected. I wish they have a sign out somewhere letting clients know that they No longer taking walk-in at a certain hour. So many people came in and was denied without giving any assistance whatsoever or which other locations is still opened or what they need to do next. So inconvenience. I had a CT scan performed here that a surgeon wanted STAT due to the nature of my medical issues. Weeks later, they still have not sent it over. The assistant for the surgeon told me that Kern Radiology LOST my records. Contacting Kern Radiology has been a lesson in futility and frustration as they blow me off and offer no explanation or followup. This has left me in a huge bind and now legal counsel has to get involved. Stay away unless you want to gamble with your health. read more

She didn't reply she looked me up and down with a look of disgusted on her face and walked to the back she asked for my id and insurance card I replied it's a worker comp claim she when to computer to pull up my chart(I'm guessing that what she did) she ask for my id again I gave it to her she made a copy of it and gave it back to me with the same disgusted look on her face then she put hand sanitizer on after we made contact I looked around cause I was shocked to see if anyone was looking at what I'm seeing, she said finish up with the registration. I said thank you have a good day still no reply I when back to the front desk to asked about her got a reply she is always like that ........ while I wait to get called back the same older lady came out looked at me again like I was worthless and called a young man in of the same race as her he was greeted with a smile and reply to his good day ....... my whole visit wasn't all bad I had a great and friendly tech and dr they were both engaging they were informative thank you guys for making my day better there So back to my call I was told it's there policy to gel in and out with each customer she helped thank you for doing your job MR regional manager I'm still thinking the look of disgusted is reserved for special people Thank you for making me feel so special read more

Looking at some of these reviews, we may have been lucky today. Needed to get some xrays, and decided to try for lunchtime. Showed up at 11:30, filled out new patient paperwork, two pages. By 11:34 we were in the back for a little bit of other paperwork. Was finished with that in a few more minutes. Went back to the lobby, soon called to the xray area, the xray technician was very patient and at the same time informative. She took care of taking the pictures, we finished up and walked out. Got into the car at 12:04. In the waiting room for radiology, there is a broken electrical out box, a protruding potential hazard that really should be replaced. More than just "tacky" it has a chance of shocking someone, maybe a toddler. And the walls and the frames around the doors very worn and scuffed. This place could use some TLC. read more

I was very impressed with the treatment I received at Truxtun. I had initially been referred to another radiologist, but they wanted a $640 copay for the procedure I needed, and Truxtun only asked for $158. You really are able to shop around for decent care locally, and it saved me a serious chunk of change, plus I got stellar care. The reservation clerk, whose name I never knew, what very efficient. She actually called me a couple of times after I made my appointment to clarify some things about my procedure. Very thorough. On the day I was treated, I was especially pleased with the tech, whose name I have forgotten, I'm sorry to say. I was nervous, and she took the time to explain all the steps they were going to take before they even started. Then, as we went through it, she kept re-explaining. The doctor was equally open about what she was doing and what she would be doing next. I had heard that this procedure could be very painful; I never felt a thing. I left feeling like I could go back to my usual routine, when others who had had the procedure before had told me that they were in bed for up to three days. I felt very fortunate to have been referred to Truxtun Radiology, and I would not hesitate to return there if I need any such treatment in the future. Very professional, very patient and very kind, not to mention clearly experts at doing their jobs. read more

I don't even want to give 1 star because this facility and organization is so horrible. I confirmed my appointment many times via multiple text reminders, emails and phone calls, finished my registration pack on-line prior to my appointment, which I arrived to 30 minutes prior as instructed. Waited for over an hour before I finally asked if I was going to be seen. When I did get to the registration staff member, I was not kind because when I asked her why she was just now calling me back she gave me the excuse they were really busy. My response was to inform her to book appointments accordingly (I'm having a routine procedure that is never an ASAP procedure, so no possible walk ins before me) and get the facility organized. She offered to let me speak to the manager but why, obviously the manager cannot run an efficient business. The owners do not care. Seeing all the other poor reviews sends the message they don't care. The facility filthy, parking horrible, and I will never have any services or refer to this place. This town is known for subpar healthcare and this facility definitely exhibits how subpar they can go. So sad. If you need excellent health services you will obviously need to go out of town even for routine health care. read more

I recently visited the place with my two children. One child needed X-rays. After the photos were taken of a obvious life threatening condition. Not one person said a thing about the X-ray findings or severity of the findings or gave any type of instructions or suggestion. They ushered me and my child to the front lobby to leave. With a smile I their face. When I got home and viewed the x rays it was obvious my child was in a life threatening situation. And had to be rushed back to the emergency room where she was admitted. If the supervisor looked at the X-ray instead of his stupid computer monitor this kind of thing wouldn't happen. Shame on you! read more

I had 2 MRI's on 1-31-18. They asked me (on the spot) to pay $214.09, as my part of the payment. The claim was submitted to my provider, and a check was sent to them on 2-12-18. The payment cleared on2-20-18. Truxton told me they would not refund me the $214.09 until they were paid from insurance. I sent them the EOB, etc. They do not believe me. The thing is, they had no right to charge me anything, they broke it down as my deductible (how would they know what the deductible was, or what I had paid already for the year) and the rest as "co insurance". My provider assured me I did not owe them a penny. Truxton actually agreed with me when I said they were withholding my payment as ransom. They still have not refunded the money, in fact they said it has been held since 2-2-18 with a note to not pay. They are unethical creeps. read more

I was very impressed even though it was on Truxtun. I was sent to the radiology place for a KUB for my daughter. No appt was needed i could just walk in. The address threw me off since i am new to the area. It sent me to the MRI & CT scan building. Anyways once i walked through the door the place is small and clean big screen tv. The young lady at the desk had no clue what i was talking about she had to call someone else to ask. So i finally got directed to a building behind them. I was not greated at all and once it was my turn she told me to fill out paperwork and have a seat and someone would call me. The wait was not to long about 45 min the most. We were finally called back by a young man then a young female came and took over. I forgot her name but she was really nice her name was Stephanie i think. She was asking questions and talking to my daughter which was really nice. Since my child being scared and nervous she made it seem so easy and kept her calm. I was impressed with this place. I had a great experience and i highly recommend this place my daughter is 9 years old and she did great. Thank you for the GREAT SERVICE! read more

Waited in pain at office for 1.5 hours for PET scan to be told they had a longer wait 30 more minutes of pain for radioactive fluid that was "en route". Then received an automatic call to set an MRI; returned call three times and each time was over 16 minutes wait/hold each time. Worst experience I've had so far at one of their facilities. If I could rate zero stars I would. So, when making my appointment a week and a half in advance I asked the lady I spoke to if my husband would finally be able to go inside with me to see the baby during my ultrasound. She kindly replied "Ofcourse as long as you both wear a mask there shouldn't be a problem". Excited to finally being allowed to an ultrasound my husband jumped up as soon as the tech called my name. She quickly stopped him in his tracks and said this back here is a woman's only center. I quickly grew confused and my husband face turned from excited to furious. To our little relief I wasn't the patient she had called we just had the same name. I started to grow worried as if my husband would be able to still go inside. I asked the receptionist if he would be allowed, and she replied with "you would have to ask the tech" excuse me what !!!! Why is it based on her ???? I quickly said well can you ask your manager or the person in charge to see if he will be let in ??? She went and asked and returned with a "our current policy says no one besides the patient can be allowed in the room". My husband demanded to see a copy of the policy and speak to the person in charge but apparently the policy could only be accessed by the manager and the manager was out on vacation. How convenient on them. At this point we were strongly considering leaving the appointment and going somewhere else. My husband and I decided to just go through with the ultrasound just because my obgyn appointment was the next day. As I was getting my ultrasound done, my husband was in the waiting room. He noticed two woman come in ,one who was pregnant, and the other I'm guessing was her support system. As her name was called the lady that was with her stood up and accompanied her they tried to tell her she wasn't allowed inside, but she insisted only once that she wouldn't allow her to go alone and they ALLOWED her in !!!!! How freaking crazy is that !!!! My husband quickly got up and told the receptionist that clearly the policy only pertained to some people because clearly they just let someone else in with the patient for the same thing I was there for a damn ultrasound!!! Please stay away !!! I would recommend any other imaging places maybe try quest diagnostics or something private. read more

The billing department here must be run by the biggest bunch of incompetents that have ever walked the face of the earth. 4 months after paying the bill, sending their Dept both a copy of the statement saying the charges were paid and a copy of the cancelled check THEY CASHED, they still say they can find no record of it and are threatening with collections. I was also scheduled to go there on a workman's comp referral and they wanted my insurance info. You should not even need that for workman's comp! Go someplace else folks, ANYWHERE ELSE!!! read more

The radiologist tech are wonderful but the billing department leaves a lot to be desired. My claim was not being paid and I called on several occasions to try and clear up the problem. My insurance company told Tryxtun Radiology to bill the medical group, which Truxtun Radioligy never did and as a result did not get paid. I was told by Tructun Radiology that everything was taken care of on one of my many phone calls. The next thing I know I am receiving a bill from a collection agency. What a horrible way to treat your patients especially when they are actively trying to work out the billing issues. My 3 stars go to the radiologist technicians. 0 stars for the billing department. read more

Hi Everyone. Please consider going to another place. I went in at 7:30 am for an MRI and they told me they scheduled me at 7:30 pm. I was pretty frustrated and Debby told me that i could wait in the lobby incase someone misses their appointment i can "take" theirs and i filled out my paperwork. 30 mins went by and she told me to "just come back at my scheduled time" which when i set the appointment they never told me it was in the afternoon. Regardless, my paperwork was filled out for the afternoon. I showed up the same day in the afternoon and they asked me to complete paperwork, i told them that i had already filled it out in the morning. They apparently lost my paperwork and only to find it sitting right next to the afternoon girls desk. Apparently, Debby did not follow the proper procedures and she told me that Debby is to scan in all documents into the system which she failed to do. They don't care about their patients here. They treat you like dirt and could careless about you. We trust people to take care of our needs and it is a shame that they do not take pride in properly assisting their patients. I genuinely am writing this review with a great heart and i don't want people to have to go through this, especially when you medically already have to. read more
