Well I'm not impressed from the start. I got here just before 7:00 for a 7:15 appointment. I'm told that they are behind and won't be able to get me in until 8:30. Problem is I can't leave & come back. I have to wait here! The greeting staff was not particularly friendly. No one texts to let you know there will be more than an hour long wait. The building was very cold. They have 8 pin pad lockers to put your clothing and personal items. Three of the eight lockers are broken. I'm short and the three broken lockers were the easiest to reach but were unavailable due to needing repairs. The changing room was a mess with an overflowing bin of used robes. The young woman who did my MRI was very nice though. The only redeeming part of my entire visit. read more

Let's start with my call. I couldn't not reach kern radiology directly. I had to go through a call center who could not schedule me but they transferred me to kern radiology. So where is this call center? because my agent was super hard to understand and honestly felt sketchy at first. Why send me information to call kern radiology only NOT reach you talk to another agency then be transferred to you for assistance. That is not effective. Don't give false information for patients to call. I work in a medical call center I know how frustrating that it. Now to the appointment. My appointment was 10:20. I was told to be here at 10am. It's an hour later later and I'm still here. All I'm being told is you're running behind. This office is chaotic. People just keep coming in. The people beside me have been waiting for over two hours for a simple x-ray. Kern Radiology used to be amazing. But I'm not sure anymore. When I got to my actual procedure it was smooth sailing. The tech and the doctor were very nice and pleasant. Both explained the procedure step by step. I pleased with them. In and out in like 20 minutes if that. They were a great team. read more

First off, I am hearing impaired, and therefore the appointment takers are not native English speakers, and I can't understand them. The online appointments for X-rays put you in a loop of sorry an error occurred... You call for a live person to make an appointment, only for the recording to tell you to do it online! Upgrade your system to actually work and make appointments online if that is your goal. Get native English speakers so they are understandable to the hearing impaired. The next step is to get Congress to stop having a V.A. contract with Kern Radiology! read more

I never really write any reviews, but this visit deserved it. I went in for an ultrasound, my first ultrasound in my pregnancy and the tech didn't even show me baby or gave me any feedback. She was silent the whole time and when finished, she said I should have info from the DR in 5 to 8 business days!! Horrible. My appointment was today 03/20/2026 at 6:30PM, I got there with 10 minutes to spare, checked in and was not seen for another hour and a half. I was about to burst, I was made to drink 32onz of water and I had to wait. Apparently they also double booked me with someone else. When I was finally helped, I wasn't even able to see my baby, no ultrasound pictures, no nothing. She was silent the entire time, only talked for one thing and that's it. She didn't even let my husband go in, and I have had my husband be in the room with me in other ultrasound appointments. This experience was not it. Will never return to this Kern Radiology, Stockdale was definitely better for me than the Bahamas location. read more

They canceled my appointment for not having a referral from my Dr., my Drs. office sends me a text and email stating that I can either wait to be called or I can call to schedule the appointment bc it's been fucking approved. I went in to see if they had earlier appointments as well bc ppl don't show. The stupid receptionist said "no you have one already and you can wait til then bc we have no openings until after that day." I explained that I need to get this done before 2/20 bc that's when the Dr. goes over all the results. She didn't give a shit and now I'm going to my Drs. with half of what he asked for... The right hand has NO idea what the left hand is doing at Kern Radiology. I don't care which Kern Rad you go to, it's the same misinformation and contradictions from visit to visit, as I was bumped 3 times for an MRI due to MISINFORMATION! I was scheduled for a MRI of my Brain at the Stockdale location. That was a nightmare pushing a bunch of buttons and then ending up with a gentleman who spoke very broken English. So I show up to said appointment, only to be turned away after 45 minutes of back and forth about stuff related to my pain pump. I'm told I'll need to reschedule. Then the incessant emails and phone calls start from the Kern Radiology scheduling to get my MRI scheduled. This time I have to go to the BAHAMAS location because it's open??? And then the day the receptionist is calling me and texting me to send this specific information. The kicker is, " if you don't get it to me by noon, I will have to cancel your MRI appointment later on today ". I never got the "links" she was supposed to send for the information so I assumed my test was canceled. I called and had my orders moved to Quest the very next day. Absolutely don't recommend them absolutely won't ever go back either. They had one girl working in the front desk showed up on time the time they told me to be there and had a line clear out the front door by the time I got to the front of the line, they basically told me to suck it kick kick rocks and reschedule. I'll reschedule someplace else because they basically suck. Spoke to their manager and she said you needed to be here 30 minutes early. I said if you guys wanted me here 30 minutes earlier than you either should've told me or made the appointment time 30 minutes earlier. I went in on a stat stress test and two days later still no results sent to my doctor, had a lady in medical records straight up lie to me as she told me she just sent it all over to my doctor, well you can't very well send something over that's not ready, the next two calls were a waste of my time so I go down there to get a disc, they give it to me not telling me the radiologist hadn't read them yet, I guess they just don't know or care enough to get stuff right, also they aren't waiting to have surgery and are in major pain like us patients that are on a STAT basis, I'll never ever go back to that place read more

This is a very busy location. I usually don't go here because of that. Waiting room is not that big and all chairs can be full. People still bring in their families and it fills up the place. Patients end up standing. The process to check in since Covid is easy they have you check in on line. So you just have to give your name when you go to the desk. They took me right at my appointment time and the ultrasound tech was very nice. The womens changing and waiting area is clean and comfortable. read more

I had to go in for an urgent xray. Check in staff was wonderful and very helpful. Xray tech was training someone from BC but they we're both very professional and accommodating, especially that I was in pain and could only move slowly. This place is horrible. Not once not twice but three times my MRI appointment was canceled. I've been waiting since the beginning of March we are now into May and still, I have not gotten my MRI done. kern radiology literally called me a day before to cancel or reschedule my appointment because they didn't have a tech available available to do the contrast. On the last appointment I had spoken to a manager and She promised me I would get seen only to get a message an hour after saying my procedure again was canceled. I have cancer this is just so unprofessional. This place doesn't not care about the patience. Again, I called and asked to speak with the manager and as of right now I'm still waiting I really doubt that I'll ever get a callback from them. The wait time to get your test results is ridiculously long. They tell you 10-14 business days. Why don't they just higher more radiologists? Often I get rescheduled because the machine is down, which makes the wait time to get a procedure done. After using Kern Rad for years, I've finally had it and will be going to another facility such as Quest. read more

Ever since Kern Radiology bought out Truxton Radiology customer service and patient care has stunk! I had to wait 3 weeks for a STAT MRI, and I finally got an appt at 8am on a Sunday morning. The dr is still waiting on results 2 weeks later. Now, my other Dr ordered a STAT ultrasound since my windpipe is being crushed. The person on the phone says how about this date "xx/xx" Say what? 3.5 weeks from now? I asked him if he new the meaning of STAT? He replied, we just make appointments as the calls come in. I miss Truxton Radiology. The customer service was top notch, techs always had a smile on their face, and the employees reassured the patients. At Kern Rad Most, NOT ALL of the employees don't look like it's a good place to work. I'm praying my insurance is accepted elsewhere and I can wash my hands of Kern Radiology. read more

So my appoint was originally scheduled the day before, but due to the person makes g the reservation she said I needed medication , which I told her I didn't need to be sedated and they cancelled my appointment and moved it to Friday at 6:00z so I get here Friday at 5:30 so there is no mixup, and it's now 6:30 and I have not had my MRI. Still in waiting room. No one has come out to say that they are running late, the employees are just in the room complaining about their won't conditions and the people they work with! I had to have an xray for my ankle that has been acting up since I injured it in the military. I got my referral and was told I would be treated like a walk in. Dread set in while I pulled up that I would have to be there for the whole day and I didn't pack a snack! After I finished my initial paperwork and caught 2 pokemon I was called back and 4 minutes later the friendly staff was waving me good bye. Parking was kind of wild but there are lots of different kinds of spots like on the street or be like a shark hunting through the isles if cars for your spot to claim. read more

They actually told on themselves for this screw up so it won't be hard for me...Should be 1 star but the lady that did my registration was a joy and very sweet to me and i should recognize her but dammit if i didn't get her name i was so nervous and stressed that day i wouldn't have remembered anyones name. Anyway this was a clusterfuck!! i showed up the hour early as they asked for my CT scan waited an extra half hour outside in my car for them to call me in then another half hour or so waiting for registration. Once back there everything was fine until they took me to the dressing room had me take my jeans, bra and shoes off cuz of metal i changed into scrubs no bra on with some other weird people staring at each other then the tech came and got me to only tell me that they couldn't do my CT that day because their scheduling department messed up and didn't have me get kidney tests before for the contrast to be injected into me!! WTF seriously if you knew all that why the hell have me undress then say "oh sorry you can come back in 2 hours if you can get those tests" well screw you like it's that easy to get orders for blood tests and the results come back that fast and i would've passed out by then from having to fast!! Epic fail here and i won't go back to this location for that reason. And it could've been prevented had they actually done their jobs in the first place.... read more

Ok never a good thing when going to a place like this. Usually means that there's something wrong and the doctor needs more information about your condition that he can't figure out on his own. Thank goodness my HMO contracts with these guy's, because it used to contract with another one that I had an MRI of my brain and they told me to go sit in the waiting room after and a Dr came out with a heavy accent said I had something in my brain and I needed to go back to my Dr shook my hand said good luck and walked away!!! REALLY Now I just get my tests and wait to get my results from my doctor just like I would expect to. Also the staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is nice and updated, clean and always temperature controlled. This is by appointment only and the wait time is never long and I've never had an issue with them being behind. read more

I'm giving two stars because the registration clerk and the ultrasound tech are very nice and have great customer service. One of the ladies that Check you in when you first walk in looked at me like I bothered her.. "well hello how can I help you today?" Was not going to come out of her. I arrived 11:30 for my arrival time and my exam was at 1145 it was 1237 and I'm still in my gown waiting without a soul in sight.its just bad to take advantage of their patients time to keep people waiting like this. Clearly these people are not well organized nor managed well. A patient waiting for tests next to me has waited 2 hours past her appointment time with no advice or notice. I have been editing an hour past my appointment time without communication. No one seems to be concerned about schedules or performing according to expectations. This has to be the WORST facility I have ever been to. I was scheduled for MRI and upon arriving at the facility filled out all the paper work.when I was called back the person looked over the paper work said oh you have hardware in your foot? Yes! Well I don't think we can do this then. I told her ive had MRI done before. She said you will have to leave your knee rover cart here an walk to bed! I told her I'm not supposed to walk on my foot! She said sorry you will have to walk o it! I have never been treated so unprofessional as this visit.there was zero .!! She then proceeded to tell me I would have to point my toes. I told her that foot is FUSED!!!! It don't move!!!! She still insisted that I point my toes and proceeded to push down on my foot! I said lady that foot does not move!!!!! LISTEN to me. So she gives me earmuffs.and says lay still. There was NO PANIC BUTTON,NO CAMERA over my head. When the machine started up it caused a severe pain in that foot I yelled for her ,but she never came in. when it was done I was not very nice I told her the situation and she could have cared less. And the dirt gowns in the changing room where 3 ft over flowing piled up the wall! The place was a pigsty. And we have made 10 phone calls asking to speak to management to file complaint. And after sitting on hold over 5 mins. They come in and say someone will have to call you back well in a weeks time that hasn't happen either. State medical board here I come!!!!!!!!! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect on my way over here considering I have never had an MRI. The building was relatively easy to find and the staff was pretty nice. The wait, surprisingly, wasn't long at all. I filled out and signed a few different forms and they called me back before my appointment even started! I was told to remove anything that had metal in it, including my bra. I was given a gown but was told that I could keep the rest of my clothes on. The staff gave me pretty clear instructions on how the MRI would go and had me lie on my stomach (the MRI was of my right hand/wrist) before I was put in the machine. Honestly, I was so comfortable inside that thing that I dozed off a few times. The process was simple and fast and didn't take anymore than an hour. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been here for X Rays many many times. But this week I was in for a CT Scan. My appointment time was respected, they started when they were supposed to start. Everyone I talked to was very caring and patiently answered any questions I had. My appointment was at 8:50, and it was very cold in here. They got me prepared and the IV in, and I was in the scanner by 9:30. The radiologist read the results, wrote out the report and sent it to my Dr. I was gone by ten. But there was one very nice lady nurse who went somewhere and put a prewarmed blanket on me as I was waiting. read more

I've been here a half dozen times for ultrasounds and a few for x-rays and MRI. Every time has been by appointment. As a pleasant surprise, my wait times have usually been minimal, with no more than 10 minutes or so spent in the main waiting room. Once let in, you'll be led to a changing room if applicable, where gowns are provided along with a safe place to store belongings. Changing rooms are gender specific, so you'll feel a bit more relaxed knowing you won't be feeling extra nervous about strutting your stuff in a medical gown. My experience with the technicians has been average to positive - some are friendlier than others, but that's always the case. I've never felt rushed and always been informed of what was going to happen before it happened. No surprises here, which is always nice when you're undergoing invasive imaging. Last but not least, results are forwarded to your doctor quickly after review, and I've never had a billing or insurance issue arise. read more
