This hotel has the best location! Directly in the center of town, across from the square, you can walk to the River, to multiple resteraunts/ bars, shopping, ect. We stayed here in November of 2024 and we booked at the Kernville in for one night on a Friday and we got a king Suite. We booked on their website and it cost us $163 with taxes included. The inn is super cute! Gave us mountain cabin vibes and we loved it. The woman who checked us in was incredibly nice and very helpful. We got room 152 and the we loved that we had a view of the square from our room. Room was very spacious and clean for the price it really wasn't too bad. I would defenitly come back again and stay here. The room furtinure could use some modernizing but again for the price can't complain. The hotel also has a pool and free parking which is appreciated. Make sure to check them out if you are staying in the area. Thanks Kernville Inn for the Hospitality.

Kern River, maybe 50 yards from our room?

Perfect location in the center of everything Kernville- restaurants, shops, bars, museum, parks, and the majestic Kern River. Arrived December, 2023 w/ seamless check-in for room 152; Comfortable King bed, 2 complementary water bottles, Microwave, fridge, coffee maker, shower, and a fully functioning heater. Excellent stay. Complimentary WiFi was perfect. Swimming pool looks like a great option for summertime travel.

I've been an owner since 1989. I was 19 years old when my parents and, at that time my fiancé, now husband of 31 years, bought into the R Ranch. No regrets! Even though assessments climb yearly, we have 3 generations coming up here. Best investment!! A place to escape everything and the city!! You see God's work up here. You feel at peace. Family fun--bbq, horse back riding, pool time, hiking(Trail of A 100 Giants), Kern River rafting, and Friday's karaoke, Saturday night band and full bar!! End with "Pizza Barn" in Kernville town! Girls weekend-- peaceful meditation, read a book and feel the breeze, McNelly's Steak House, Kernville town antique shops, So much to do and FEEL. R Ranch always!!

Dear David, Obviously the pics are not the room at Kernville! I posted those from the Sequoia Lodge after hearing accusations only to show it for an example of rooms we rent! I am quite concerned how your handling this. The manager has lied about the room and I have witnesses that will attest to this! Your housekeepers, under oath would not lie as they are doing out of fear of loosing their job, to tell the truth. And David, the room WAS NOT TRASHED. There was the accident due to my husbands illness- ( did you skip that situation)? Most definite I nor he would EVER SMEAR feces on sinks, walls, doors etc. I thought I explained the accident on the bed, obviously it appears you are not considering my truths and don't care what I am saying. Ya know, I had allowed someone to use the restroom while I was packing that room. They will testify to its "cleanliness" and show you that Shea did this to cover up- deflecting her actions by stating the room was trashed. It isn't even in my wildest thoughts to do what I am accused of! Shame on her! Maybe you should call booking.com regarding Shea stating that they "took my payment from your hotel" and she did not have the room as paid- it was cancelled! Please consider my statement as a customer with much higher standards than your manager. I am so disappointed at your response. I would be happy to take a lie detector and you certainly my should give your employees one! Oh- by the way, view the receipt Shea attached to this- it says she only charged $100., yet she took an additional $50.00- separate and not showing on "your invoice". Even though she is also a thief, it is a crime to charge my card without my knowledge, I will take this as far as I am able. I, at this point am not even sure you wrote this reply, with all the lies being said! You may want to defend the unauthorized transaction with mentioning a policy that was not seen nor read, nor, as mentioned did I get any paperwork other than a map. Your manager should be fired for all the defamation and accusations she has done! Perhaps, like I suggest, you should be CLOSELY reviewing all the actions of your manager. Please, do yourself justice and re-read all of the statements and contact booking.com about how Shea accused booking.com of taking my room charge!!! It is sad- your ignoring your customers truths and the entire reason, I believe Shea made this up. I am disputing her unauthorized charges and truly-you might want to reconsider how you handled this ugly deliberate attack. It's only a matter of time before some other customer will experience her manipulative and shady ways. Good luck with that!

    Shower

Place seemed well enough maintained, shower in room was small, small bathroom sink for two (don't plan on bringing bathroom bags no room), bring your own hand soap room wasn't provided with any. Lovely mini fridge..~! Not. Couldn't work with it rubber around it was torn and wouldn't keep sealed to keep drinks cold so used an ice chest. Air Conditioning is preset so you get what you get durning your stay front desk asked us to no adjust it cuz they tend to trip. Back up fan is a small push fan. Roommate was sweating the entire stay so this place ain't on my revisit list if I'm ever again in Kernville.

We came to Kernville to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. The online reservation process was seamless and easy. Upon arrival, I met with the manager, (I did not get his name). We spent 45 minutes getting to know one another, like old friends. He made a very compelling argument to change our dinner plans to the local Italian restaurant that was spectacular! We got to the room and we were mildly surprised by how nice it was. The room was clean. Several reviews have said the rooms were "dated". For Pete's sake, people, this is not Manhattan... Our only problem was the bed was really tall- and the toilet was really short. Go figure. We will definitely be back!

We stayed for a motorcycle camping event (Frandy Campgrounds ) this time around…read more Although the reservation wasn't made by me- my friend noticed once the event dates were released, other properties were booked via their websites. As with Riverview Lodge. Then she snooped around Expedia and found some availability. Woo hoo! We've stayed in Kernville a few times already, and with the proximity to Frandy Campgrounds and places to eat and the grocery store, super duper close. We arrived the day before festivities began (Thursday) and got situated. It's a first come, first served parking situation. And if you got the rooms closer to the river, you can utilize the paved driveway and head on down. She booked a double queen room. Our bed was so comfy, it was easy to fall asleep. The AC blows so much cold air (don't mind the noise from it). But, since we picked the bed closest to the AC unit, I think hubby unplugged it the second night & we propped the window next to us for a fresh breeze. Since my friend checked us in, she told us coffee's available in the morning. I don't recall her telling me what times coffee is served. So, on the second day- I lazily walked into the coffee area at 6am and was disappointed there was nothing. Then, I walked into at 6:30am and the coffee pots with a variety of flavored creamers were available. When I went back for coffee around 10am- everything was put away. Womp womp womp. *Some friendly advice- perhaps staff can post a note in the coffee room what time coffee hours are. That way it gives customers a chance to plan ahead. It's a no frills property. You get a TV with cable (we watched MTV the entire time). Strong water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower. Toiletries you'd expect from Motel 6. So, if you're dead set on something specific, bring your own. There was a fake flower vase set on one of the tables in the room and a fake flower arrangement in the bathroom. Both have a thick blanket of dust on them, that if you knocked into it or slightly touched it- thick dust bunnies just cascade. At this point, just throw away the fake flowers. It would suck if a customer has allergies. I'm sure something can be found at the dollar store in Lake Isabella. Good sized mini fridge and microwave available. And the chairs placed outside your front door, are a great way to just chill in the shade and inhale that fresh air. Along the river, Riverview Lodge has an area with fire pits and logs you can burn. I saw corn hole boards propped up behind one of the cabins closest to the water.

It is rustic, old-fashioned, and outdated, in need of updating. Locks are turnkey. Extremely clean, but very basic. It was odd to have a refrigerator, microwave, dishes, and cups, but no silverware/cutlery. No coffee muffin, etc. We arrived around 6 PM and nobody was in the office, but our key was stuck with Scotch tape to the door with our name. Only got to enjoy the swimming pool for about 20 minutes, unfortunately, because it closes early as soon as the outside lights come on. There is a bizarre attention to detail-- almost OCD characteristic-- highly specific signs all over the place as posted below. Summary: for $250 a night it's reasonable. But nothing special. I would've liked to have interacted with an employee and I really think the sign on the pool is grotesque and should be removed.

She then directed us to another employee to finalize our reservation. Unfortunately, that interaction was disappointing. After a three-hour drive, it was discouraging to be met with a condescending attitude. We needed to update our reservation to reflect a different number of adults. We had no issue paying the additional fee, but the employee's tone and insistence that we pay immediately came across as rude, as though she assumed we were unwilling to pay. Thankfully, the staff member who had originally assisted us stepped in and explained that we had just arrived and were not objecting to the additional charge. Later that evening, around 8:30 p.m., a staff member approached our campsite and asked us to lower our music. While we understand and respect campground quiet hours, our music was not loud. We did have several children with us who were playing, but we were under the impression that quiet hours began at 10:00 p.m., and we fully complied with those rules. The manner in which the staff member addressed us felt unnecessarily rude. What made the situation more frustrating was that several other campsites remained much louder throughout the evening. We could clearly hear nearby groups singing, laughing, and playing music well past 10:00 p.m., with some not lowering their music until around 11:00 p.m. Despite bringing this inconsistency to the staff's attention, I did not feel that my concerns were addressed. The campground is pet-friendly, which we appreciate. However, there was frequent barking from dogs throughout the night. Normally, this would not bother us, but it seemed inconsistent that our campsite was singled out for noise while other ongoing disturbances, including loud music and barking dogs, were not addressed. Finally, the restrooms were consistently dirty during our stay. They appeared to be cleaned infrequently, and there seemed to be little urgency in maintaining their cleanliness. Overall, while we appreciated the friendliness of the staff member who initially welcomed us, the inconsistent enforcement of campground rules, the unprofessional attitude from another employee, and the lack of restroom maintenance negatively affected what could have been an enjoyable stay.
