I was a little leery of this place after seeing the Yelp rating, the fears were unfounded as I dove into my lunch. The clam chowder was good, not the best ever, but easily top 5 in Kitsap. There's a few things which I look forward to every week.....my Bride, my JRT's, the Stock Market and.......an order of Kettlefish oysters! Served mouth scorchin' HOT, and with some of greatest Tarter you'll ever have......they are small/med oysters, NOT milky or seaweed tasting.....they are pretty much perfect. Gotta go with the Garlicy Tarter! Fish is good, but not sure about the price. I mentioned their prices were equivalent to Alaska prices and I was told the fish comes from Alaska. Ok then...Fish and chips shouldn't be overpriced in a restaurant with minimal atmosphere. Tartar sauce was also little different. read more

Found this great new restaurant in Silverdale. I had the best seafood Cioppino I have ever had. The place was clean, the staff super friendly, and I found it interesting watching how they cooked the food right in front of me. Highly recommend trying this out. They have great beers on tap and a nice outdoor eating are as well. read more

My wife and I just had lunch here and were very pleased. For the reviewer who complained about a $17 meal, last time I went to a fast food burger establishment, I got a burger and fries for $22. It's just 2021, not 2010. This was the best "Fast Food Seafood" we have ever had. For it to be better, it would have to be a couple of Benjamin Franklin's payment for a sit down, candlelight dinner. The service was excellent and the food was tasty. It was served in a timely manner at the right temperature and with a great smile. We walked from our hotel so parking was not an issue. read more

Great fish and chips!!! And the tarter sauce is amazing. Great service and very clean!!! Most fish and chips in this area are Panko crust and these aren't. Everything was super fresh and hot!!! Fries were a little undercooked but they had no problem fixing for me. Everyone likes their fries cooked differently and they cooked mine to my taste. Will defiantly be going back!!! read more

Not many lunch spots open during the Covid-19 pandemic and we had been meaning to stop by this bright newer spot in Silverdale. Today was the day. They had nice outdoor seating and a parking lot. Ordered fish and chips. That is 3 pieces and fries. That came to a not inexpensive $20 + tax. The order was delivered in a matter of minutes in a basket with tartar sauce and more than enough french fries that were pretty good. The cod fish on the other hand as perfectly flaked and formed and wrapped inside a tasteless coating of some kind. The food was hot enough and the portions were all exactly the same size and shape meaning to me it was put together buy a machine of left over pieces and mealed together and dipped into a coating. Not something I could really recommend going to again. The seating, decor and cleanliness was all satisfactory but I truly expected better tasting sea food at a seafood joint. read more

We just spent $43 and I feel sick. We wanted to support a smaller business during this time so we thought to give them a go. Got the kettlemac with added lobster and it was AWFUL. It said 5 cheese blend, but tasted worse than boxed Mac and cheese. The lobster was rubbery and had zero flavor for $18. Next up was the prawns with fries, 5 smaller prawns of very poor quality and again, very rubbery. How bad could fries be, you ask yourself?? Well... they were so limp they just flopped over, and definitely had a funky freezer burn taste. The only thing we enjoyed from our $43 meal was the clam chowder. This is my first yelp review fyi. Our group was very excited to try the latest restaurant to open in Silverdale. We ordered the cioppino, steamer clams, fish and chips, clam chowder and the Northwest pan-roast....everybody shared. One thing is for certain, these people take seafood very seriously. It was so much fun to watch our entrée assembled/cooked from 3 feet away. Super fresh seafood, healthy (just simple honest ingredients) and plentiful portions. My favorite was the pan roast, it was chock-full of oysters, shrimp and crab. Simple and fresh is what I taste first. I love that there's no fuss in their seafood. The recipes speak first and then creativeness is a close second. I wish more seafood places would keep it hardy and tasty like Kettlefish. I swear the kettle mac and cheese with crab will make you come back for more. Plus the portions are plentiful. The chowder is what you want on a fall afternoon. Cod and chips so flakey with a tartar sauce that I'd dare you to dislike... cause you won't. I hope they eventually sell their tartar sauce because it's that memorable. They also have an amazing shrimp cocktail with fresh celery, tangy cocktail sauce, and tasty shrimp. I also want to give kudos for the beer and wine selection. I had a crisp, fruity white wine that complimented their food. These lovely folks are fun to talk to and know they're food and beer and wine pairings pretty damn well. Go here for lunch and chill in the outdoor patio before our weather gets rainy. read more

Drove by this place many times before but today I walked by and the smell of food was so wonderful, I decided to call my mother and invite her for an early dinner. Originally, we were going to try their Happy Hour menu, however, I ended up ordering the Cioppino, and my mother got the Oysters & Chips basket. Mine was out of this world, and her oysters literally melted in your mouth. We also tried the clam chowder which was equally as delicious. This place must get their fish themselves from the water a few yards away- it tasted that marvelous and fresh! We ate outside with some White Claw Seltzers under a gorgeous clear blue sky. The city and country have all been stressed with the coronavirus scare, but going here today for takeout truly made all the anxiety wash away. We had the best meal, with the best weather, and the best company; definitely a day reminding us how blessed we are. This will be our new regular place to come eat now- many more dishes to try. I moved to this area a couple of months ago, glad to have found it now than later. read more

This is good low hassle seafood. I won't call it fast food, but it is quick. I ordered the cod&chips. Cod was flakey, and the breading was light and crisp.I also orders the lobster mac. Cooked right in front of me in a unique kettle contraption. Wholesome comfort food! read more

i am glad to see a new restaurant. sorry, but no very good. had pacific pan roast. according to the lady cashier, the best item on the menu. very thin tomato soup base with only 3.5 , or less tablespoons of ok seafood. very sweet base. this and a small soft drink almost $18.00. if it was good quality i wouldn't complain about the price try the food you make. offer samples ask customers their thoughts. i hope you are able to bring your food quality up to match your prices. sorry!! read more

Another new place to check out. Ordered the bouillabaisse and fried oysters as take out for enjoyment in a nearby park (there is outside seating though). Small and clean inside. Order at counter. Some of the staff was friendly; others not so much as a look or hello. Oysters were flavorless and dangerous; my wife bit into one and scalding hot liquids coated the inside of her mouth, lips and chin (fortunately, no hospital visit required but very unhappy tatse buds for a few days!). The one oyster I tried was just green mush and no meat. Blah! Bouillabaisse was OK but not memorable but not nearly as hot as the oysters. Not recommended and will not return. read more

Typically, I find fish and chip joints underwhelming. Not Kettlefish, I was surprised in the best way. I had the cod, prawns and fries. The presentation is beautiful. Crispy golden brown on the outside, meaty and moist on the inside. I grew up on the Mid Atlantic and have eaten tons of fried seafood and this (aside from Louisiana) is the best breading I have ever had. All seasoned just right. The fries tasted fresh and were not greasy at all. The tartar and cocktail sauces were out standing as well. The other thing that impressed me was the open, very clean and efficient layout. I ran restaurants for a long time and found myself jealous. The set up was obviously laid out by someone with an eye for design and efficiency. Most importantly, the staff greeted everyone walking in. They were efficient and friendly. This place is my new favorite treat. read more

I went to the Silverdale kettle fish today. I ordered the seafood platter and the steamers with clams and muscles. Everything was fried to perfection. The fried oyster which in the past other places tasted like low tide (ick) was sweet and yummy. The steamed clams and muscles were also flavorful. ( next time I'll just order the muscles they were that good. This is a small shop thst only had two booths and counter seating. I opted to sit on the patio. Being a tall person I found the seating snug. Not a big deal. I was eventually run off of the patio because of bees. I realize this not really the fault of the restaurant but it cut my dining short. I enjoyed the food but felt it was overpriced for essentially a take out joint. I will probably go back though read more

I ordered the Captains Platter and Clam Chowder so I got a variety of items with my choice. The food was all delicious, fast and best of all, very fresh. The staff is friendly and helpful.
