This place is a bagel making machine. It's a hive of activity with plenty of staff at a dedicated position making all kinds of wonderful bagels. Service is fast, friendly and efficient. There's about a dozen or so variety of "sandwiches" to order from smoked meat, BLT to vegetarian and many more. Everything from plain bagels, Sesame Seed and Loaded to Blueberry and Chocolate. All of which are very delicious. I found the price a little high, which is why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars, but overall I was very impressed and will definitely be back. read more

Definitely worth checking out cause 1) they're open 24-7, 2) they make their own bagels. Both of which is very similar to the production in Montreal! Tip: If you're coming from the NE, it's more convenient to enter the plaza from the back, not passing Farm Boy. It's an awkward plaza to access. Cashier was very helpful and patient when I had questions of what was in certain sandwiches. I really wished that the posted menu was a bit more descriptive than just names and prices. After you order, you're given a buzzer and there was plenty of standing space to wait. Breakfast-type sandwiches were comparable to Tim Horton's prices...I think. "I think" because it's been years - maybe even a decade - since I've eaten any of those egg/sausage type frakenfoods. Except the bagel is freshly made and hopefully they're using actual eggs, veg, etc. My bagel was toasted, but by the time I got home, it was no longer toasted and crispy. Heard about this place and how it is a 24/7 bagel shop. Place seems to always be busy. Nice thing about this place is that the bagels are freshly made in house. Only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because it is quite pricey. I bought 2 bagel combos and paid $34. I live in Durham region but had to get my booster in Mississauga so I had to stop to get some Montreal style bagels. I love the Montreal Bagels from those Montreal stores but these are very similar. We typically get our bagels from the other Montreal Bagel shop on Bayview but I prefer Kettlemans Bagels because I always find them more fresh and the shop is more modern and larger. I got a dozen bagels and cream cheese and once I smelled the hot bagels in the car I had to eat one while I waited for my shot. It was sweet and delicious plain. When I took them home we ended up eating bagels for breakfast for the next three days. My wife who is from NY is now a convert from NY style bagels to Montreal style bagels. The only complaint was no plain bagels or poppy seed bagels? It wasn't that busy so the fact that they had limited selection made me deduct a point. Looking forward to the new location opening up at Whitby so that we can get fresh bagels 3 times a week!!! read more

Montréal style bagels??? Yes yes yes! This place makes them nice and fresh, offering 12 different types of bagels and a wide variety of spreads. The sandwiches they have are pretty scrumptious as well. I've been here twice now and I typically order a dozen bagels for $10.99, a nice soft doughy pretzel and a spread. The spreads are pricer than normal but I've tried the garlic and the lox spread so far. My favorite bagels are the all dressed, sesame and garlic. I personally like buying these to make homemade sandwiches but I did try their kettlemens special (I'm a sucker for smoked salmon - the combo of cream cheese & smoked salmon is just to die for) and the reuben. The inside decor is very neat and you're able to see the bagel production line as well. It's always busy here but the line up goes by super fast. I do love the bagels here and have been several times. I appreciate they have non dairy spread as well. I just wish the guy baking the bagels would wear his mask. Everyone else but him was. I've heard a lot about this place and it's been an establishment my family and I have wanted to try for awhile. My review is based only on my bagel and not my families. I ordered the smoked salmon on a sesame seed bagel with garlic cream cheese (Roughly $9.99) and was not very impressed. The bagel was very soft and oddly sweet. The cream cheese was not garlic and the amount of smoked salmon was very little. I'm sure if you ordered the bagels they will be quit enjoyable but the bagel sandwich was very disappointing. It's come to my attention that many establishments don't raise the price but reduce the quantity or quality of the product. I suspect this is one of the practices of this establishment. read more

As someone who is from the Montreal Diaspora, there are few options that remind us more than smoked meat and/or brick-oven bagels. Caplansky's is gone but Kettleman's is here albeit from Ottawa. As someone who orders St.Viateur bagels online, I decided to take the chance and buy two dozen bagels. In Montreal, there two places to buy authentic bagels, St.Viateur or St. Urbain. It's so convenient having Kettleman's near my home and beside our beloved Farm Boy. I'm by no means a bagel aficionado but wow are these bagels good! You can easily eat two or more in one sitting. I got the Everything cream cheese spread last time I was there and it was so garlicy and delicious. Great place to get snacks for your staff if you go into the office. Highly recommend. read more

These bagels are absolutely everything. I got the smoked meat sandwich on a sesame bagel and it was absolutely perfect. The honey mustard is perfectly sweet and compliments the sandwich so well. If you're debating this establishment you absolutely must give it a try. The bathrooms weren't the cleanest but I still need to give it 5 stars because the taste of the food will cancel out any negatives. There was a line up but it moved quickly and the food came out very fast. Someone rolling bagels noticed my 7 year old watching and even gave her a piece of dough to roll and practice with herself! If I'm going to eat carbs, this is how I want go down. Had the Reuben on a herb and cheese bagel. It was well made, fresh, and the team at the store was awesome and walked me through my options because this was my first visit. Also tried the cream cheese one with the tomato and smoked salmon and it was great. Maybe would have gone for a little more salmon and a little less tomato but all the flavors were fantastic. Definitely returning to try some new things. They also sell jams, marmalade, spreads and pastries. Looking forward to my next visit. If there was one thing I'd change it would be that they serve Pepsi products, which don't quite do it for me. read more

I tried Kettleman's last week for the first time and really enjoyed the bagels. They reminded me of the ones I bought years ago at St Viateur in Montreal, very dense, slightly sweet and very tasty. I also bought some of their cream cheeses. My only issue complaint is when I got to the counter there was no info on the types of bagels and the person at the counter was not helpful whatsoever and I found the prices to be a bit high but regardless I will still go back and get some more bagels again. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday evening to pick up bagels and pastries - they were delicious. We tried 2 of each: Onion, Garlic, Plain, Cinnamon Raisin, Blueberry, Pumpernickel, Everything (All Dressed). The bagels are delightfully chewy and not overly dense, and each of the bagel types had strong flavours - the onion bagel looked like it had really been rolling in onions! They also have specialty cream cheese - we tried the blueberry cream cheese, lox cream cheese, and everything/all dressed cream cheese. The blueberry cream cheese on the blueberry bagel tastes almost like a blueberry cheesecake! The cream cheese had little blueberries in it as well, with a genuine flavour and nice variety in texture. The lox cream cheese was also nice and smoky. The pastries were also delicious - they didn't have everything listed on their website but they had a great selection. The cinnamon/chocolate rolls are nice and dense, almost like a babka/croissant hybrid. The apple turnover is fairly large, with wonderfully crunchy sugar crystals on top the light and flaky pastry! Finally - definitely get the bagel dog. We didn't have a chance to try the sandwiches, so we opted for the bagel dog, which is essentially an elongated bagel with a hot dog inside. There is a long variety of sauces to put on top, ranging from the classics (ketchup/mayo/mustard) to peanut butter, jam, and pesto mayo and many others. It's crispy, chewy, warm, and soft all at the same time! Be sure to grab some extra napkins though - especially with the crumbs and sauce! Despite being takeout only, the customer service was top notch. The people taking the orders were friendly and informative, and our bagel dog was carefully wrapped to ensure we could eat it fresh on the benches outside. They are open 24/7, 7-days a week - it's an intense operation, which you have nearly full visibility over. They are friendly, efficient, and have some delicious products :) read more

The bagels are beyond compare but recent experiences in the Toronto Brownsline store have turned my husband and I off going there. Staff are rude and unhelpful, we were short bagels we paid for, and the staff member lied about putting storage bags for the bagels in our order. either staff aren't being properly trained or they aren't adhering to Kettlemans' standardS. This is nowhere close to the Ottawa experience my husband grew up with. read more
