I had it evaluated by reputable local jewelers and gold buyers, who estimated its value at around $550 and offered no more than about $375 as a buyback price. The difference between those valuations and what was paid raised serious concerns for me. I returned to the store hoping to resolve the issue, but the only options offered were a no-cost exchange into a 14K hollow chain or a $200 discount rather than a full refund. The willingness to upgrade the chain to a higher-karat gold chain at no additional cost only reinforced my concerns about the value of the original purchase. My advice to anyone shopping for gold jewelry: take the time to learn about gold purity, hollow versus solid construction, gram weight, and current gold values before making a purchase. At time of purchase I shelled out for the lifetime warranty and was told just bring it back to the store and they'd take care of it. Apparently things have changed since...and they wanted US to contact the warranty company by email...wait for someone to contact us and give us directions on sending the ring in by mail. We literally walked across the walkway to Alexander Jewelers...who HAS A JEWELER ON SITE...and fixed it in an hour for a hundred bucks. 12/30/23 I am so upset by my experience at Kevin Jewelers. It started out nice, I went in looking for a anniversary ring. A band with a row of small diamonds. Seven or so, not diamonds that go all the way around the band. I explained this to the sales person that approached me, Belinda, as I thought this design would look best with my current wedding ring and band. She pulled out several, maybe we looked at 5 bands. We found one that looked good with my current wedding ring and band. I liked the way the three looked together. Then she said, you know the diamonds look cloudy. She was exactly right, I had not paid attention to that yet, as I was looking for a shape/design to match my rings. I said you're right! Do you think cleaning it will help? She cleaned the band and cleaned my rings. Brought them all back and they looked fabulous, beautiful. I was very excited! I paid for the band and we set it up to go for sizing. It would take a week before I'd get it back. A week later I went in to pick it up. Belinda was not there that day. When they handed me the band the diamonds were SO cloudy. I said.. that's weird the diamonds on this band were cloudy when we first looked at it then Belinda cleaned it and it looked great. Can you clean it please. They cleaned it and it still looked awful, so cloudy. I said that is not the ring I bought. I would never buy a ring with diamonds that look like that! I did not take it, I did not sign anything. I said I'll come back tomorrow when Belinda is here. I went back the next day and as I approached Belinda was looking for another band for me. I said what happened the ring I bought was beautiful. Why is it so cloudy. She did not answer. The only comparable ring they (Belinda and her manager) could find me was several hundred dollars more. They would only exchange the band, no other offers to fix the situation. Again I refused to take the ring or buy a more expensive one, which was the only option they offered me. I left telling Belinda, I don't know what's going on here but trusted you and now I am so disappointed in you! I am out $643.48. I went directly to the mall management and put in a complaint. I called my bank to dispute the funds. I am putting in a complaint to the BBB, better business bureau. And here at yelp. I don't know what will work if anything. I am beside myself. Don't trust Kevin Jewelers! I would not put one star but I have to.. 1/3/24 I received a response to my email saying a district manager will reach out to me before the end of the week. That is now (Friday, 5PM). I have Not heard back from Kevin Jewelers. Disgusting. 1/4/24 Heard from the District manager, was assured that there was no unethical action taken by the sales person. He included that the store has been in Palm Desert 30 years, in business 40 years. And that the employee has been working for them for 10 years. They believe that cleaning the ring made it temporarily more sparkly and brilliant than the diamonds in the band actually are. And that cleaning will not remove cloudiness. 1/9/24 I received a credit to my credit card. I appreciate that they did that. Moral of the story: Familiarize yourself with the 4 Cs before shopping for diamonds. Know that cloudy is NOT the same thing as dirty. I've added a few stars for decency. read more

Cheap, horrible quality, terrible customer service. Last year I bought my goddaughter a necklace and upgraded her chain to what I thought was going to be better quality per the sales rep. I also purchased their warranty. My goddaughter wore it once for not even an hour and it broke. We got it fixed and months later, she wore it again and it broke again within an hour of having it on. My goddaughter didn't even mess with it. So I took it in last week and they told me their warranty only covers ONE repair and it would have to be paid out of pocket. Then the sells person said it was bound to break again because it's not a thicker chain, when she was the one who upgraded me to the chain because it was supposedly "better." Never again, take your money elsewhere. You'd probably find better quality jewelry on shein. read more

So my husband told me he was going to get me a new set of rings because I could not fit into my original wedding rings after having my son. We went to four different jewelry store and I finally found the one I absolutely loved here. We had it set to get it resize and they said it was going to come on Thursday but they got it to me by Wednesday. I went to pick it up and it was even shinier and prettier than I remembered. I bought at home and felt like it was loose gave them a call. They said to just wait for a couple days just to make sure. My husband proceeded to examine the rings and realized that one of the diamonds on the side was missing. I brought my rings back to them no more than two hours after I've had it. They told me it was going to take 2 to 4 weeks before I can get my rings back!! And that they were going to inspect and make sure everything was secured. I would assume that they did that before I got my rings back but obviously not since I got it back with a missing diamond. I cannot believe the lies we got from Kevin Jewelers. This is a family owned company, according to their website, that does not care about the lies being spread and the bad business being done. We bought TWO diamond rings three years ago for Mother's Day. During this transaction on Mother's Day, we were told that my rings would retain their value at 110%, all I had to do was go back and pick something else out that cost the same as my ring and trade in my ring and that was it, which in addition was something that sold me on buying the rings. Sounds like a great deal right? Well, today 2/15/202 I dragged my two small children and husband with me, (which is hard to do because children need entertainment,) and we went to Kevin Jewelers in Temecula to see if I could get something different by a trading in of one of those rings I had bought 3 years ago, I was really excited too! Instead I was told that I would get what ever I paid for the ring, which is not 110% and that I would need to spend the amount I spent on the ring as well. In other words, I paid $1,200 for my ring which means I would need to spend $1,200 more, totaling $2,400, but I'd only pay $1,200 plus the trade in value. I was NEVER told I would need to do this when I bought the rings. And the man that told us this today said that everywhere we go would do it like this, which is a lie! This is not honorable nor good conduct. We left feeling like we got played and we drove there for nothing! I am so upset! In my opinion, Kevin jewelers in Temecula is a scam. They tell you these pretty things before you buy and really sell you an empty dream and then when the real business of longevity and loyalty begins, (for a lifetime possibly, because I would've kept going back! Horrible experience. I am very disappointed with this company. I purchased a $200 pendant for my chain and was very excited about it. Found out that my chain was too thick for the pendant when I arrived home. So I brought it back to see if I could get a new size that would fit. They told me they can switch it for $80 dollars and that it would be a 2 week turn around time. When I arrived they wanted to charge me an extra $200 for a larger loop after promising me it was only $80. I was very angry at this point and the manager was very unprofessional and aggressive about it (No mask either). I brought my pendant over to Alexander's Jewlers right next door and they changed the loop for $25. They also gave me a lifetime warranty for free. Bought a pair of diamond earrings a few months ago bought them under the premise that "you can trade them in anytime for other jewelry full amount you paid". I came back to trade them in for a necklace which was what I really wanted in the first place. Now of course the trade in policy anytime has turned to "you MUST purchase another item for double the price" which essentially forces you to spend $100s more or else just keep your jewelry item. I left unsatisfied with my item I hadn't anticipated spending $100s I thought it would be a simple process of course just another sales tactic. I would discourage purchases from this store for this reason. Changing whatever they state in order to make a sale you just can't trust a business like this. Save yourself the headache and future waste of time and $100s of dollars!
