We could not be happier with Kevin O'Connor and the design work he did for our upcoming remodel. We had done our own design on a kitchen remodel in our last home about 15 years ago and thought we did a good job. So with this remodel, we thought we could do the same thing - do the design ourselves and save some money on a designer. But we quickly got in over our heads. Enter Kevin to save the day! Not only did he help us work through some of the obstacles that we could not figure out on our own, he came up with some other ideas that really tied the whole thing together. We are SUPER pleased with the result. We also very much enjoyed his process. Several in-home meetings, followed by some virtual meetings and phone calls. But best of all was the virtual rendering of the design with the ability to walk through the design using virtual reality (VR) goggles (Meta Quest). Not only was it SUPER COOL to get a preview of the "to-be" remodel in VR 3D, we were also able to make design decisions that we likely would not have occurred to us by just staring at a set of blueprints. Attached are some "as-is" and "to-be" pictures as well as a short walk thru video. Bottom line - we *thought* we had an eye for design and wanted to save some money by not hiring a designer. Kevin was worth every penny we spent making sure we maximized all the opportunities for a next level living space. Thank you Kevin! When we met Kevin, we immediately liked and trusted him. My husband said that "he inspires confidence." We'd met with multiple contractors who had ideas about what could and couldn't be done with our kitchen space--and who also had various ideas (none too inspiring) about how much the whole thing would cost. Throughout the project Kevin was consistently patient, honest, and responsive with us. He listened to how we wanted to use the space, offered us two designs (one we liked a lot and one we loved and went with), and then stayed on and managed the project for us. All for a reasonable price! We never once regretted hiring a designer! Kevin is so conscientious and detail-oriented that he kept us on track and helped us through every last inch of our kitchen remodel. Kevin came out at the urging of the contractor to be able to provide a "scope of labor" for a simple 100 sq ft laundry room remodel. After almost 3 hours of talking and measuring, the plans I received were not what we had discussed....from the ceiling to the lights to the open shelves. After another hour long conference call with Kevin and the contractor, he revised the plans. They were still not what we had discussed, and the measurements were even off...for tile and door orders!
