I give this specific official Chevrolet dealership a 0 out of 5 stars, the zero only because less than that isn't possible. The words "well you have had it a year now", those were the words of comfort I received from Service Advisor David Nelson after being informed of my truck needing $2800+ in repairs after just one year and 2 months of owning my beautiful 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Custom. My vehicle was under 90k miles when I purchased it in November 2024, when I was sold it I was painted the best picture of it, the carfax were presented and I was sold on this incredible vehicle I believed to be purchasing. I have kept up on the maintenance and despite some issues early on (by the way I had an atrocious experience trying to fix this issue months and months ago and KW dropped the ball). I left it there for 2 days to simply get a diagnostic rented a vehicle and spent $300+ only to be told they hadn't even looked at it despite telling me 24 hours, never fixed it and still attempted to charge me a diagnostic fee. I was met with no remorse or care and basically this is your issue pay or we don't know what to tell you. My warranty expired after 3-6 months and was quoted at $4k essentially to extend again to that through the agency they partner with. At this present moment I am without a vehicle for 2 weeks now that I am still paying my bank payments for after spending $8k in payments thus far with no accountability or concern from the dealership. I am not slandering nor threatening anyone I am simply sharing MY experience. I've quickly learned from sharing this experience that dozens of mutual friends have similar or worse experiences here. DO NOT purchase a vehicle from here or thoroughly have the vehicle checked before doing so. I paid almost blue book for a used truck that apparently is only good for a year! read more

This is an unfortunate story of very poor communication and disappointment. I called on Wednesday afternoon to inquire about a black F-150. The lady told me it was available and we could see it but neglected to take my name and phone number. She told me to ask for Steve Addington since he had done the trade-in. So, we pack everybody up and go to the dealership. We arrive and Steve tells me he had been trying to call (remember lady didn't take my info) to tell me the truck was not actually there due to a recall that needed to be fixed by the Ford dealership across the street. Since we were there, we made the best of it by checking out other trucks on the lot. I liked a similar F-150 so we decided to come back the next day when the truck should be ready. Steve assures me he has one key, and the other is in his desk so we should be first in line when the truck returns. Steve texts me on Thursday, and we setup an appointment for 5:30. I arrive a little early and am standing by the truck waiting for Steve to arrive. A sales lady named Judy walks over to me and asks if I need any help. I tell her no and that I'm waiting for Steve. She then proceeds to bring a person out to the truck and show it. Long story short the dealership sold the truck to another party without giving me a fair chance to buy even though I inquired first. Steve said he pleaded his case to the sales manager, but to no avail. I'm very disappointed by the unprofessional behavior of Judy, the finance guy who we talked to but just patronized us with a "Sorry" routine, and the manager on duty. Steve told us later he was not notified someone else was interested in the truck. Just poor communication from start to horrible finish. I feel bad for Steve because he essentially lost out on a sale and worked on his day off to help us. If you MUST buy a vehicle from here, stay away from Judy and do not finance the vehicle through this dealership. Use your bank or credit union. Give them as few of your dollars as possible. The administrative staff were friendly, otherwise this would be 1 star. We have had two bad experiences in the last month with this dealership. We had to take in our Chevy Bolt EUV, and upon arrival it's as if Shawn (service) wouldn't even speak to me without talking to my husband, too. Continued to call me "little lady" etc etc- demeaning and very condescending. After dropping the car, we were not contacted at all re: any of the progress, estimated date of completion, what was actually wrong etc. I finally called to check and they still didn't tell me what they were doing to it, just that it'd be ready "Friday". We picked it up and I had to ask what they did- got a curt "well, looks like a replaced battery" and we were on our way. Fast forward to this week and I was asked by the tax auditor to reach out to Chevy directly for an appraisal-- I left a message w/ customer service and never heard back causing us to miss the depreciation deadline. Overall- steer clear. Seems like this place needs a customer service overhaul. read more

Well this is certainly a first for me. I've bought many vehicles in my life but this will be the first time I've ever felt compelled to leave a 5 star review for both a dealership and a salesman. My wife was wanting a mid size truck to replace her aging Jeep Wrangler. She test drove a Toyota Tacoma and was set on getting one. I convinced her to test drive a Colorado at Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet which was down the street. What a great decision this turned out to be. We met with our salesman Jon Marcus. This guy is absolutely top notch. Jon took the time to listen to what my wife wanted in a vehicle and let her test drive a couple of different options. Jon was very patient with my wife's questions (like cup holder layout ). When my wife settled on a Silverado instead of the Colorado, Jon immediately went to work on pricing. Due to time constraints we had to leave and go home but by the time that we were home ai had three pricing options for different vehicles. At no time did Jon try any pressure tactics and was professional. He is truly a nice man. Here is the best part, the prices were incredibly fair and far below what I anticipated. I bought my 2011 Camaro 2SS from Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 2 years ago. The experience was nothing to brag about. I bought an extended service plan but then thought better of it. I called the finance manager Richard Baker several times and emailed him several times. In those communications, I informed him that I wanted to cancel the extended warranty. If I canceled in the right time frame I would get a full refund of the extended warranty. I am sure he knew this and that's why he wouldn't return my calls emails. Eventually, I just showed up as soon as they opened and walked right into his office and demanded the cancelation paperwork. The plan was canceled and I was refunded that money. That whole buying experience was strike one for Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet. I had previously bought a vehicle at Bradshaw Chevrolet in Greer and that whole staff was welcoming and friendly. My second experience and my last experience was with their service department. They scheduled me an appointment and told me to drop the car off at 7:30 am. I sat there for 25 mins waiting for my car to get checked in. Why tell everyone to bring their cars at the same time? Clearly, they can't handle all the cars at once. I finally got my car checked in and headed to work. At around 1:30 I was texted that they had cars left over from Friday and that there were still cars ahead of mine. That was pretty much it for me. I simply asked if I could just come and pick it up. I am so happy that I won't have to give them a dollar of my money. I will take my car to Greer if I have to. I am pretty fair in my reviews so I don't have an axe to grind against this place. I am just telling my experience as it happened. I purchased a used truck here in August and was really disappointed in the way I was treated then and now. The sales rep took me to a residential neighborhood for my test drives both times and I didn't realize it at the time but it seems very coincidental now. The transmission began failing shortly after I purchased this truck with it slipping as it went into higher gears, hence the neighborhood drive so I never got it above 3rd gear. There appeared to be other attempts made by this dealership to conceal the problems with this truck from me. New tires to increase road noise so one couldn't hear the engine at speed and an additive to the oil to quiet the engine some. Very shady dealings indeed. I was told by the manager just recently after I complained about the on going issues that "I should have my lawyer contact theirs". I will be filing a complaint with the B.B.B and would suggest that anyone looking for a new or used vehicle to shop elsewhere. I got really screwed and this lemon of a vehicle supposedly passed the Kevin Whitaker inspection process which either tells me they are dishonest or incompetent. I came in for the first oil change on my 2015 Stingray and was told 45 minutes to 1 hour. The first and more insignificant of the issues, was that I didn't get my car back for almost 2 hrs. When the service rep finally pulled around with the car, he didn't know how to put the parking break on or turn it off in gear... So it continued to roll as he was trying to get out of it. To make it more exciting, he was filthy with oil stains all over his jacket on the arms and back. The biggest joy of the experience was when I was on the way home and noticed a severe rattled "clang" in the rear end. I wasn't sure if I'd make it back to the dealer at one point. It turns out, they rotated the rear tires and did not tighten the lugs on the rear left wheel down completely. The only positive was that the Service Manager, Tom(?), was understanding and compliant, and never made any excuses. I will not be back. read more

All the other reviews have already mentioned how terrible this dealership is. Long story short, salesman Marco would lose an intelligence contest against my Doberman. Looking at a 80k vehicle and he couldn't seem more uninterested in doing his job which is based off commission. After a few weeks of negotiations or wasted time, he stops communicating then mentions out of the blue the car has been sold. Hilariously when I spoke to a different rep, the vehicle was stolen? Had an appointment at 1130 for soft ware upgrade (android auto) because i had recieved a e-mail from chevy saying to take to my dealer for the free download. The dealer Kevin Whitiker. I made my appointment online easy enough and a lady from the dealership called to confirm the appointment and advised i could wait, that it wouldn't take long. On 26 June at 1115 i show up and walk in and talk with a representative and was ask what kind of download, i advised him that i put it on my appointment paper work and talked with a representative after i made the online appointment. The gentleman behind the counter advised that they didn't do that upgrade or download. Even though i was advised by the service manager when i bought the truck i would be contacted and that wasin 2016, two years later i get a email to go to the dealer and the jackleg behind the counter says they dont do it, and ask me to wait a minute, he walks to a office and ask another person. The jackleg comes back and ask for my keys and says can we take you somewhere. I stated i will wait and was told they didnt have anyone to work on my truck. I ask why do i have an appointment and there's no one to work on my vehicle. What kind of place sets appointment and no one to do the work. Now i have a truck, but cant use my phone because i dont use apple. Two years i haved waited. I like my truck, but KEVIN WHITIKER SUCKS. read more

Took my car in for a minor repair and was told day after day that they would get to it in a few hours. When they finally called me a week later to come pick up the car, it wouldn't start when I arrived and waited another 2 days for it to be fixed. Not once was I offered even so much as an apology. TERRIBLE CULTURE. By far the worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. I walked in and was immediately ignored as there were three salesmen (one who just got off of his smoke break) helping a gentleman looking at Corvettes. I was simply trying to pick up a fleet vehicle, which was completely dismissed by the sales team as I was told to "sit tight". They then told me STEVE is the only guy who can handle Fleet vehicles and he is OFF on Thursdays. "So there was literally no way they could help me" ... including the incompetent GM. Essentially there is no solution if someone wants to pick up a vehicle on Thursday - but that was NEVER communicated, nor is it poster anywhere. Terrible not worth your time or $. Second time I had a bad experience with them. I only went to them because they were up the street from where I broke down. Had it towed to them. I explained all the messages the car gave. Got caught between an employee leaving, a new employee, and the technician who worked on the car out sick for the entire week so cannot get any information about what exactly they did to the car. They charged $550 to replace the normal car battery. I said all the signs leading up to the car not working does not equal new battery needed. On the drive home when I went from electric to gas the propulsion system did not work properly. Once I turned the car off in my driveway the car would not turn on again. Now I have to start all over. Pay to have the care towed in, etc. I am in the market for a new vehicle and with this experience I would not even bother to buy from them. I own 3 Chevy's at the moment so I like Chevy's! read more

I don't normally do reviews but felt obligated to for this place. Took my 04 escalade ext here for a brake job and ended up leaving without them doing anything. This place is a huge rip off. They were going to charge me almost $700.00 for rotors and pads. That is ridiculous. I'm not an idiot so I went elsewhere and had the same job done for half. Plus they did a "diagnostic." For $130.00 which is free most places and I had to pay it. Customer service was ok but no excuse for ripping people off. Be smart with your money and go elsewhere. read more

Awful customer service in repairs dept, Rhonda was very rude, short and hangs up on phone without letting you finish, manager was not helpful. They do not comminicate well, they replace my engine, had my car for almost a month, gave car back making noise it was not making before, took it back to them they said i have to get warranty company to approve repairs for serpentine belt and belt tensioner of engine they put in when all i needed was timing chain belt. I got approval, now chevorolet company said they wont accept third party warranty after they told me to call them and they didn't fix car right the first time. Poor services, rude employee's. I took my truck to have the heat and ac worked on , the dual controls and modulators were not working properly. I left it on a Thursday left instructions to " make it all work". I had to call repetaly on fri. Sat and finally Monday to be told it was fixed. Picked up Truck and nothing worked they replaced on of the modulators never checked anything else to be sure the rest worked, it did not! I have ac on drivers side and heat on passenger , cannot control either, can't change to defrost to vent or floor. Took back and told the controller needs replacing , it will be ordered. Three weeks go by and after leaving messages for another 2 weeks, 3 voice messages and complaints with girl who answered phone. I called back actually got through to KB and told the part isn't made anymore. He couldn't be bothered to call me and tell me that, never offered a solution. Was very disappointed with my experience last weekend. For starters, the salesman acted as though I was some indigent person coming in to kick tires. I asked if I could see inside the "work" dually and was told the keys were inside the building and he didn't even know if the truck was available. Then when I asked about getting a dually in blue, was told that would be very difficult unless I ordered one and that couldn't be done now because the factory was shutting down to get ready for 2020. I test drove one you had and when I commented about the ride/drive being so different from my husband's truck, he asked what my husband had and I told him a 3/4 ton Chevy. His response was "there's a LOT of difference in this (dually) and a 1500." You would think a truck salesman would know a 1500 is NOT 3/4 ton. Later he said we'd go look over some numbers and I said that would be good. He asked when I planned on buying and I told him a couple months. After walking across the lot, get to the door and I'm told "I'm really not trying to be mean but there's no point going over numbers if you're not ready to buy because everything changes first of the month." To be honest, I'm actually VERY glad I was treated this way because I stopped at another dealer on my way home who didn't care that I wasn't looking to buy right away(I also told him a couple months.) Within 10 minutes, he'd found the blue one I wanted and come up with numbers including enough incentives, I'm now driving the $70,000 sale your dealership lost. And for the record, we are far from indigent. This makes four vehicles we currently own that are less than three years old and over twenty homes. You can't judge a book by it's cover. read more
