Eli knew exactly what I meant when I asked for a beautifully symmetric diamonds and not crushed ice. We vibed right away. He has great taste and knows what a beautiful diamond looks like from an ugly one. Because let me tell you, there are a lot of ugly diamonds out there and there are many brokers who will try to convince you that they're pretty! I also really appreciated that he didn't ask what my budget was like so many other places. He focused on finding me not one, but two perfectly matched pairs of diamonds for studs. All of the other places wouldn't show me more than one pair. And you know what? I took both pairs because they were both so perfect I couldn't let them go! Other places told me it was impossible to find 2 old mine cushion cut matching diamonds but Eli did it. And he did it in like 2 days! He called me and kept me updated. When he showed me the diamonds he was super patient as I studied each one. There was never, at any point any sales pressure. My engagement ring was a relatively thin platinum band, and they had warned us that the band would be malleable due to the material. However, I didn't realize how malleable it could get until after I began wearing it. I was so set on choosing platinum because I figured it would be the easiest and most low maintenance material. The band kept losing its shape any time I wore it. It began driving me insane because I needed to come in and get it fixed almost every 4-8 months (depending on how frequently I was wearing it). I started to get anxiety everytime I wore my engagement ring because I was so afraid of it losing shape. I began to wear it less and less and stuck to my wedding band (which is white gold--lesson learned) only. I was also too afraid to go to any other jeweler near where I lived to get the ring fixed because I truly only trusted Bridal Ring's team. Finally, I was done feeling afraid and decided to switch the band entirely. I explained to Zoe, an associate at Bridal Ring & explained the situation. We discussed the different options and ultimately we determined I wanted to switch my band to the lowest maintenance metal I could without losing the integrity and design I initially had. Zoe and the team were so kind. They came up with an idea to switch the band to a yellow gold band & solder my platinum prongs with my diamond onto it. One of my really good friends asked me to go engagement ring shopping with him so obviously I said yes... even though I didn't know jack shii about rings other than what the "4Cs" stood for. That being said, I am so glad that our first stop was Kevin's Gems. Liz helped us narrow down what exactly my friend should be looking at when purchasing a diamond. She was very patient in explaining and educating us on diamonds beyond the known "4Cs" e.g. symmetry, fluorescence, BL, etc. She also showed us how to inspect diamonds. They were pleasant to work with and they didn't pressure us to buy anything that instant. What I appreciate the most is that if you buy a diamond from them and then return for another "upgrade" purchase, they will buy the original diamond back from you at the same price. How cool is that! Although we didn't buy a diamond from here, I would definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you don't really know what you're doing. He is looking for an engagement ring. I also had $30,000 cash burning a hole in my pocket, so my husband encouraged me to look for the antique ring I've always mentioned. I KNEW Singlestone was the place immediately. I have had their website saved for at least 15 years (our wedding) and look at their page so often. Imagine my surprise when I was standing outside St. Vincent jewelry Mart, trying to find Singlestone and couldn't. Not unusual , bc diamond district. Then I called them. The way I was treated with the first initial call was humiliating. I was asked who I am, what I want, who referred me. (Not necessarily abnormal in DD. I'm used to private purchases only... ) The tone was accusatory and made me feel really embarrassed. I immediately hung up. Then the same number kept repeatedly calling me back. When I answered, the tone was no better. I was honestly too embarrassed to continue by the way they treated me on the phone. No thank you. I'm just a patron of the diamond district who has been shopping with the same diamond dealer for over 25 years. I was shocked and really embarrassed with this experience. I will not be shopping with anyone else from now on. No thank you, Singlestone.

"You just know.."--The saying I've heard all my life about finding the one you want to spend the…read morerest of your life with is also true when searching for the ring you want for the rest of your life. Ring hunting was not fun, actually, it was kind of brutal. I quickly found out that you need to walk into a store knowledgeable and with a firm vision or you will either be ignored or pounced on. I got neither of these treatments at Single Stone. My TOP criteria (so I don't bore you with all of it!): 1) certified conflict-free diamonds 2) budget 3) unique or vintage inspired look 4) a tug on my heart ;) To avoid buying a conflict diamond, I first thought of engineered stones, but the look was too "perfect" and lacked character. So, back to diamonds, I called and searched for ones with a Kimberly Process Certificate. Wow, it was pretty shocking to find out almost no one could provide one or even know the origin of the stones. How can you certify it if you don't know where it came from?! The solution was found with Old European Cut diamonds from Single Stone! These diamonds date to early 1900's which put my worries about the horrible events in Africa in the 70's (and on) to rest. I encountered calm, attentive staff who were happy to appease my slow-paced browsing and decision making. Although, the first moment I saw my ring, I just knew.
