I won't go into this part too deeply, but we had some rather infuriating experiences with a different Commerical Tire store and the Reagional Manager, whose office is in this La Grande Sstore came to our rescue. Since our car has AWD and all of the tires need to have the same tire depth, all 4 tires had to be replaced. He made it right again, got us back into new tires, honored the warranty and even rechecked the alignment completed an oil change free of charge for our troubles. I can't say enough for his professionalism and integrity he really pulled us out of a tight spot and that says volumes about this La Grande store and how it is managed. I will always come back right here in La Grande because he put the trust back in our customer relationship!

This happened to be Baker City. The Les Schwab was on the main street. When we pulled in we were immediately greeted my a young man. I apologize for not getting his name. He checked the tires and directed us to the back bay. The manager in charge, Phil, wrote up the ticket and let us know it would be about 1 hour. The technician found we had a large nail in the tire! No wonder it didn't hold air. They got it fixed quickly and Phil let us know it was ready. But, he would not let us pay! I just about cried right there. In times like there where everything seems so selfish and dark, I was floored by this kindness. Phil and his team should be recognized by the company and it's owners for this generous help. Heritage diagnosed the problem as a serpentine belt and tensioner and charged us over $560 to replace them. The very next morning the exact same noise returned. When we contacted them again and sent a video, they told us it was actually a wheel bearing issue and quoted another $1,150 for repairs. At this point we lost confidence and sought another opinion. A different shop diagnosed the actual problem immediately: the transfer case, which explained the noise and the acceleration issues. So to summarize: * Heritage charged us $560 for a repair that did not fix the problem * They then misdiagnosed the issue again as wheel bearings * The real issue was the transfer case, which they completely missed What is most concerning is that they were prepared to perform another $1,150 repair that would not have solved the problem either. Good mechanics diagnose problems before charging customers for unnecessary work. This experience felt like guessing at repairs while the customer pays the bill. I would recommend anyone experiencing drivetrain or noise issues get a second opinion before authorizing repairs here.
