UPDATE NOVEMBER 14, 2018: Dan Lagrange from Key Auto of Somersworth reached out to me on October 17, 2018 and he listened to my issues and communicated with me and he went out of his way to make things right. Dan & Key Auto lived up to their commitments and stood behind the vehicle I purchased from them. I would recommend dealing with Dan Lagrange from Key Auto. Thank you Dan & Key Auto. I purchased a vehicle from Key & the vehicle was grossly mis-advertised & misrepresented. Vehicle was not repaired as per Keys own provided invoices. Purchased a vehicle from Key on 08.25.2018 and received the vehicle on 09.20.2018. During the sale my original salesperson was supposedly let go and I was given the credit manager to complete the sale. Response time was less than adequate and I had to constantly initiate contact with him to get him to respond to anything. Upon receiving and thoroughly inspected the TBSS to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The vehicle was not truly represented by Key. Other than the front passenger fender that was shown to me, there are several other things wrong with the vehicle. Huge dent in the rear passenger door, scratches and dings all over the vehicle (Not The Rub Out Kind), drivers side mirror looks like it was attacked by the wolverine (& I Was Sent An Invoice On Work Completed By Your Body Shop & It Stated They Fixed That Mirror and all the other items as well?), permanent burn marks on the front interior counsel, a family of mice were living in the engine compartment, the rear bumper was not put on correctly, the front bumper was not put on correctly, rear drivers tire has a leak in it, the people who turned it in lived near the water and a lot of the interior hinges and engine compartment metal parts have serious rust, which I was not informed of, the air compressor hose is missing, the rear windshield wiper is broke, the vehicle failed New Hampshire's emission testing and Key did nothing to correct the failure. Key was supposed to detail the vehicle as stated & they didn't, which was even shown on the invoices they provided to me, I have to do my own registration and title, which Key was supposed to do as part of their job in completing this sale or any sale, which costs me additional monies which Key never conveyed to me, etc., etc., etc. In addition to the aforementioned, I specifically asked key to only use Wells Fargo for the credit, but my credit was run approximately seven (7) Times through other vendors and now my credit has taken a serious hit because of multiple credit checks. I am aware that this is a used vehicle that is ten + years old and it's not going to be perfect, but what should be perfect is Key's marketing and representation of this vehicle or any vehicle they sell, which was not. The chances of me or anyone I know doing business with Key again is extremely low. read more

If I could put a minus in, believe me; I would in a heartbeat. Key CDJR in White River Junction is the absolute worst dealership that we have ever dealt with and we are sorry we did. The paperwork handling is absolutely ridiculous if you are put on an intransit plate from them to New York. Why would registration / titling paperwork on their end be sent to Beacon Auto Tag in Williamstown, New Jersey ??? Goes from Vermont to New Jersey to New York (some private DMV as Beacon says) then finally to the customer. It should not take over 6 weeks for the paperwork to process unless the so-called title clerk did her job correctly; what happened to the TC doing the job; instead of sending paperwork to some fly-by-night company like BEACON AUTO TAG. Doesn't the dealerships know they are losing so much money !!! All in all; DON'T EVER and I MEAN DON'T EVER DEAL WITH ANY OF THE KEY AUTO DEALERS ANYWHERE IN THIS COUNTRY...Their Dealer licenses should be YANKED from them all !!! Purchased a truck and got the tire warranty. Now I have a tire which needs to be replaced. Went to Salem was told I don't have the warranty even though I showed them contract. Told have to call Newport and talked to Finace. I do and they say Salem is just being lazy. Was told by Newport to find a local dealer who takes Portfolio and have them do the work. sold my parents a shitty ass mitsubishi outlander 2021. car features from 2004 = 2023 price features missing from a 2021 vehicle - - no digital mph which is a complete standard and maybe even a full digital cluster - no floormats in a sport trim priced at $21k for a preused vehicle - cvt transmission at this price point, insane, can get a cheap camry off marketplace for $1,500 and has pretty much every feature the outlander does. - driver side floor is super rough, looks like it might have caught on fire or something. Poor customer service, less then motivated salesmen. Some say they don't like bushy salesmen, I say pushy is good because it shows motivation which also means that they would go the extra mile to get you the best deal possible and some of us second guess ourselves, kind of gives you the nudge to get over that hump and move forward. Said everything would be covered under warranty and then when it came time to needing the repairs completed they said it wasn't covered. Key Auto did NOT stand by their warranty when I bought a car from them. The week after I bought the car it started having issues, when I brought it to their attention they gave me the runaround telling me it was my fault and "not their problem". I had to drive a my car around 100% not satisfied with it or their service. All they cared about was making the sale and sending me on my way. I had to use social media and drove around with a message on my back window to finally get my point across that key auto of somersworth sold me a lemon. From there another company helped me out. If there's a car you like at key auto of somersworth chances are there is a car just as nice somewhere else where you won't be treated as just a sale but a person. I can no longer recommend or support Key Auto group. We have been loyal customers for over 12 years. We purchased 4 vehicles, and sent many friends who also bought vehicles. We left great reviews and had been very happy. Sales, service, and management have changed personnel so many times it's difficult to maintain good relationships. We tried to purchase another car, in the time we started the process, looking and talking to a sales agent to when we shored up financing, the price of the vehicle jumped almost $5,000! Needless to say, the added cost blew up my financing, and wiped out any value of my trade in. When I asked "why" about the price increase, my salesperson said, "I don't know, Greed?" I asked if we could offset with a better deal on my trade. Never happened. I have a print out of the original deal, and the price jump less than 30 days after. Facts: We did NOT have an agreement / contract. We really liked Key Auto and are very saddened to see them take advantage of an awful situation. We all got kicked hard by the pandemic, there's no need to raise prices just because everyone else is doing it. I went in for an oil change and the didn't replace the crush gasket causing my vehicle to leak oil. I went back and was told that I would have to pay to have my car checked to find the source of the leak. I ended up going to another garage, had the oil change redone and the problem was resolved. read more

Well ...I was looking for Key in York Me. Not on the radar I guess. But as others at this and other lacations have said...."Shadey Shadey Shadey". Lacation can not change a bad reputation. I had a-simple problem with a FORD sticker emblem that came off and left a horrible gluey mess on my car. I simply went to the York dealership to ask if they could get the residue and scratches it left. From the second I walked in to the moment I left I was treated like crap! Oh BUT !! i was given a KEY AUTO emblem to place the dealership glue that left my car looking terrible . But nothing to help fix the damage this FORD dealership car caused me. The receptionist was the most rudest ..unkind non professional person I have ever experienced in MY LIFE! I miss Starkey Ford! They were kind and professional...not to mention loyal and ethical. Absolutely the worst! Brought my truck in with four snow tires to be mounted (replacing the summer tires currently mounted), they broke one of the TPS (tire pressure) sensors. I had to pay both parts and labor for them to fix what they broke. As that was being debated, I had them replace ignition coils in my Ford Ecoboost engine (a known Ford problem). I was told there would be a 12 month warranty on that but when one of the coils failed six weeks/900 miles later the service manager would not take or return my calls. When I stopped there twice in person, he "had just left for a family emergency" for the day - on two different days! I'll never be back there again! read more

The only reason I use there service center is because I figured it would be the easiest sense I bought the car there EVERY time I bring my car in it takes at least twice as long than they quote me & then when I call to check in on the status of the car no one every seems to know what's going on and even though I had dropped the car off 2 plus hours ago ( multiple occasions) they still haven't even started it even though I had an appointment. Key Auto rejected my vehicle inspection claiming that I needed a new windshield, (ding) complete exhaust system, and rear bumper. (I used to inspect vehicles before I retired) so I went to a second inspection station who agreed with me and found my windshield to be in perfect condition, my exhaust system to have a small leak that can be easily repaired, instead of having to buy a complete exhaust system, and the rear bumper with surface rust but still passes NH safety Inspection standards. The three items that Key Auto rejected which were fine, would have cost me $1700.00. I suggest staying away from them when it regards any repair service/Inspections. read more

I would never buy another vehicle from this place they wouldn't warranty any of the issues I had with my car. Management didn't do anything for fix the problem. They did Not honor their word on fixing what they said they would prior to signing on my car. Service dept. Was just as bad couldn't get my car to drive straight and said it was normal. I only received one key with my $27,000 car. The only thing they ever did for me was hand the keys over to me other than that not one finger was lifted to help out their customer. We have bought four cars from Key Auto Somersworth altogether. The first two, a Nissan and a Honda were great, the cars had no issues and the process was smooth. Then we went in recently and bought a used BMW that we had for 8 days. A couple days into having the car, we pointed out that the there was something wrong with the front right side wheel of the vehicle, which they claimed they would fix at the time we brought the car in for the sticker, which was fine with us. However, 8 days into having the car, we were on the turnpike one day and the car lost power and the 'check engine' light came on. While doing research, we discovered that the car was under recall for an airbag that has killed multiple people, something we were never informed of. Information, that we could have obtained if we had been shown a car fax or the vehicle's history. We brought the car back to the dealership and gave them the keys.When we brought the car back, they indicated that they would do us a favor of taking back the BMW and letting us buy another car from them. At the time we had expressed that we were concerned about doing this because we would be buying a house soon and did not want our credit negatively affected with multiple hits in such a short amount of time, which Marie expressed would not be a problem because she would call our loan company and have the new car transferred. We picked a Mercedes we liked that they have driven up from their Nashua, NH store. When we show up to do the paperwork, after waiting for an hour or so (even though on the phone we were advised that the paperwork was ready and waiting for us), we find out that we now had a higher interest rate and a different loan company. Needless to say, at that point we were disappointed but had gone through so much hassle that we went through with it. When it was all said and done we ended up with a different loan company, a higher interest rate, a few credit hits in the same week and a Mercedes with a hack job on the muffler that Key Auto refuses to take responsibility for. Unfortunately after discussing this with a few people, I learned that Key Auto does not know how to work on foreign cars. Due to the unpleasant experience and the fact that Key Auto clearly does not take responsibility for the safety or quality of the vehicles they sell, we will not be returning there. read more

My husband and I bought 2 cars from key 3 years ago. Great salesman, decent service... That was a few years ago. We don't want to knock the service guys... But the customer service is in the tank. Firstly it's difficult to get through on a phone call. So leave a message right? We left at least 3, been hung up on and sent through the automated line numerous times. No one returned our calls. I had to call the manager in the sales building to make a service appointment! Finally get in for an 8am oil change and tire rotation since we had a coupon from the valuepack. We decided to drop it off since it can take up to an hour there in the morning. Well 3.5 hours later I had to call to see if it was done! The woman (who wasn't even aware of what was happening in service) I spoke with said they were just finishing (3 hour oil change). I was pretty irate at this point so I sent my husband in to pay. He came out pissed too. The service man behind the counter said they couldn't take the coupon that we have used a great number of times because there was a requirement for 'dextrose' (Chevys). A great number of oils now come with this already so it shouldn't be any different. They charged us full price $67 for an oil change and tire rotation! We are done with Key Auto. We won't be referring any friends there any longer. read more

The Service Department has a long way to go to understand customer service. I purchased a 65K truck and a few weeks after servicing it I got a check engine light. I showed up when the service department opened and asked if they could take 5 min and check the code. I had a long trip scheduled for the weekend and wanted to make sure it wasn't anything serious. They were very inflexible and not boarder line rude. Total disregard for my situation. He said "it takes a lot longer than 5 min". I disagree. I went to a local service center on the drive home and in 5 minutes they checked the code for me. I hadn't purchased anything from them but they recognized the situation and handled the situation appropriately. I spoke to my sales person at Key and he was apologetic but claimed he had no power to do anything. Big mistake Key GMC. Any successful organization should be customer satisfaction driven and that starts with giving your sales team the power to support their good customers after the sale. read more

If I could go to 7 or 8 stars the fellows at Key deserve them! Yesterday I drove 90 minutes from my home in Maine to Somersworth NH to look at a Ram 1500 truck that popped up on TrueCar. After a test drive I decided to buy it, the folks at Key having offered me a fair price for my older Durango. I assumed that I would have to make another trip to NH in a couple days to pick up the truck but salesman Luis Feliz (an outstanding Marine veteran), Gen. Sales Mgr. Curt Sylvia and Finance Mgr. Rob Raymond would not hear of it. They worked very hard to put all the paperwork in place including a loan, insurance info, temporary plates and a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. The truck was already in great condition but Luis insisted that their team would clean it completely. By late afternoon everything was done, we exchanged keys and I headed home one very happy customer. The auto business is not an easy one, and some customers get pretty upset if a knob falls off their car, etc. All I can tell readers is that I got a fair deal on both vehicles, and tremendous service well beyond any reasonable expectations. Shady, shady, shady. That's pretty much all there is to say about Key Auto. So I received a call from someone at Key Auto, they didn't leave a message so I called the number back and got on the phone with Kevin and he asked if I would be interested in selling my car back to them. I didn't really understand why they were calling me since I bought the car over 2 years ago. So I asked why and he didn't really give me a straight up answer just that they wanted to stock older vehicles in their lot. Again, shady. I decided to go down there anyways and see what they wanted to offer for my vehicle. I go in there and sit down and asks me what I'm trying to do for example trade into another vehicle on their lot. My intentions were only to listen to what they wanted to offer me for my car not to make a deal right there on the spot. He asked me if I was interested in any other vehicles on the lot that I was interested in and there was. Took it for a test drive and I wasn't too sure about the story with this vehicle and it had very high mileage for being a 2016. The sales manager told me the vehicle was driven to Florida and back, but he however neglected to tell me that this car was actually used as a rental car until it was sold privately. It was in the autocheck report and he still lied about the history of the car to me. He then told me that when he buys the cars he "doesn't look into all of that stuff he just looks at the overall value of the vehicle before buying it". That is probably one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. He continued to keep asking me what was the number that I would sell him my car right then. They continuously said they're not trying to pressure me and yet kept asking me what I wanted for my car. I have a lot invested in the car that I have now that they sold me and they said they would compensate for that. He took 2,500 off the price of the other car I was looking at because I had the transmission rebuilt recently on the car I own now without even asking for proof of the repairs. I declined the offer and in the end all I can say is that these guys are very shady and they only care about making a sale. They could care less about the customer and the vehicles they are selling. I highly do not recommend this dealership. There are plenty of other dealerships in this area that are HONEST and don't try to take advantage of their customers. Not only is their sales department shady their service department is very similar. Took my car there once and that was the last time I'd ever step foot in that service center. Brake job cost $360 for just the rear calipers and pads. That's highway robbery at it's finest. Not only that I needed an oil change and my first one was free since I purchased the car with them. No problems at first I was in and out relatively quickly I leave and I look at the report of the service they just did and they put regular conventional oil in my vehicle when it takes synthetic oil. So I immediately bring it back there and ask them why they didn't put synthetic oil in it and one of the techs tells me "it didn't say that on the slip". It's a German car... what technician doesn't know a VW takes synthetic oil. Long story short I do not recommend this very shady dealership Key Auto. Don't waste your time, don't ever go here unless you want to be taken advantage of. read more

I got my used Nissan 2 months ago, the car NEVER went to be check out . so I had a noise in my brakes so a different garage put it up on a lift and that's were we found a large rusty hole right under the drivers seat when you looked up at it you could see the rug. this is were the manager said she don't know if we did it or not. come on lady it's the fall and there is no salt on the roads yet !!! also rear caliper was seized, and needed pads for it. steering rack had a lot of play in it. need a alignment were it had chewed up my brand new tired that was put on it when I had got them, plate lamp was out. front headlight keeps the water in it, but they said that was ok. they did fix it, but then they put a clear inspection sticker on it, and never told me about it and that I have to come back until I called them and still waiting for the manager to call me to put the right inspection sticker on it. will never go back to get another car and I don't reconmend anyone to get a used car from them read more

I bought a car off of them a couple of years ago and I thought the free state inspection stickers for the lifetime that I own the vehicle was a good benefit. That is until I tried to get my free inspection sticker. I recently put over $1,500 into fixing my car through a very reputable shop. That work included 4 new sway bar links 2 lower control arms 4 new tires and an alignmen along with a few other parts. If there was anything else wrong with the car they definitely would have found it while doing all that work and while aligning it. They would have found a blown hub assembly like the guy named Macie at the key auto service center claimed I had. He then proceeded to tell me it would be 2 and a half hous of labor to fix it. I immediately called the shop I had the work done at. Not only did he assure me that my hub assembly was fine but he also looked up the book time on the hub assembly and told me it was only 2 hours. When I asked the man named Macie about this he told me that they charge 2 and a half hours incase it takes longer than the book time. That makes no sence why would they have a book time if you get to charge however much time you want. So I left there with no sticker and went to a different shop and told them what had happened. They told me if the hub assembly was actually bad that they would not be able to put a sticker on it either. After they inspected it I paid them $30 and left with a sticker. They said the hub assembly was fine. I have bought three cars from key auto but needless to say I will no longer be doing business of any kind with them. read more

DO NOT USE KEY AUTO SERVICE CENTER I'll say it again DO NOT USE KEY AUTO SERVICE CENTER. I rarely write reviews but I'm going to write one for key because I had a terrible experience with almost everyone I interacted with during my state inspection. I can't speak for the auto sales center, but my time with the service center was one of my worst experiences with a business, that I have ever dealt with. I went in the morning before work and met with Joe, he seemed like a nice guy and was very cheerful to help me with my inspection. He told me that he would leave the keys accessible for me, since I would be getting out of work well passed the time they closed. We agreed on this and then I went to work. Well during that time, he called me back and told me what was wrong with my car. He told me that my windows were not working, and that was an inspection item and that he would diagnose the problem for me. He never mentioned a fee to me or anything like that. He simply said that he would diagnose it and then he would get back to me with any updates. He told me that it would be no more than an hour. Well one hour goes by, then 2 hours, then before I know it, it was 15 minutes before they closed. I desperately tried to contact them so I could have a way to drive home from work. I left a voicemail, and still nothing. I ended up having to call a rental car to drive home, but before I drove home, i stopped by key auto in somersworth to find my car left unlocked in their lot with my $200 GPS exposed on the dashboard. The keys were absolutely not "left accessable" like I was promised. I drove my rental home and went in to key the next day. The lady running the service center that saturday was rude, did not care about my issue at all, and just flat out did not want to be there. I told her I was not paying for the inspection or the rental because it was key's fault for the miscommunication. She told me that Joe would contact me on monday because he was out for the weekend. Fast forward to monday, i received a phone call from Joe who was very rude and started telling me that I was wrong and that he had no fault in not giving my keys back to me. He completely denied telling me that the keys would be left accessible and tried to make me pay a $99.99 diagnostic fee which he told me that he made me aware of, which he absolutely did not. After I told him that I would not be paying that, he told me that he would sue me and not give me back my keys until the balance was paid. It took me calling him a scumbag to make him finally back off and retract the $99.99 "diagnostic fee". Really key? Is that how you have to make money? By threatening to sue your customers? That is the only semi positive thing that came out of this whole ordeal, but that's exactly what joe and everyone else at the key service center are, complete scumbags. Don't let the $9.99 inspection coupon fool you. My mother took her car in to be inspected and they told her she needed a new $1000 muffler. When she took it elsewhere, they told her the muffler was brand new and they even warned us about using key. Take my warning, these guys are scum and have to cheat to make any money. If it weren't for lying to people, they'd be out of business for their scummy business practices. Not only that, but they denied the direct billing for my rental car, so now, i'm out over $100 for something that should have costed me 10. Once again, take my warning, don't use key, do not support a business that has no regard for the customer and that uses immoral tactics to try to make an extra buck. read more

Key Auto is over an hour away from where I live so I kept going back and forth about whether or not to make the trip to look at a car I had found on their website. After expressing my interest, Dean emailed me and called me to let me know that if I should decide to come for a test drive the car would be out. Let me tell you, that hour drive was the best decision I've ever made when it comes to vehicle purchases. Dean and Marie were both SO helpful and I never felt pressured to buy. After agreeing to a financing offer, Marie still took the time to work with one of the other banks to get me an even better monthly payment. This was over the top customer service since they already had the sale from me! They truly care about helping their customers get the best deal! They took care of all of the registry paperwork which I was also surprised about since my car would need to be registered in MA. I picked up my new car the next afternoon! I chose to buy my new car from Key Auto because I have gotten service on my old car there and everyone was so nice and honest.
