He tells you exactly what you need in order to fix your car, he does not push for you to get things that might not need to get fixed just so the dealership can make a buck. His service team is really great and the pup that they have is very friendly and a great addition to the work place. The only reason I could give my experience 1 star is for JJ in finance and one of the higher up- I cannot remember his name. I bought my explorer in 10/22 and it was a rocky start to begin with but I was determined because I fell in love with the car so I jumped through many loop holes: Bob seemed annoyed with me the whole time, not that I will ever buy another vehicle from this dealership, if I did he wouldent be my salesman.. he's the least of my concerns Mike the service manager is the #1 problem. Starting back in 10/22 when I bought my vehicle. He is rude and has no customer service skills. He insinuated I was dumb and didn't know what I was talking about, he did this with my mechanic too who happens to also be female. I told them it needed new tires, they reassured me it didn't- when I had my car checked over after I bought it (I should have done that first) my mechanic failed the tires but key in PORTSMOUTH refused to replace or even work out on a deal with me because to their "standards" they passed.. although they failed for weather cracking. He screamed at my mechanic on the phone. When I bought the vehicle as a courtesy one of the guys up front knew that I had a newborn so he had them replace the back breaks and rotors. after further inspection the front rotars were warp Ed also so they needed replacing but I was given the run around on that because they didn't want to and . wouldent replace the pads so I had to pay out of pocket for them. Why put on brand new rotars with old pads?here I was I thought I was in the clear (this was all done in 11/22) still while driving my vehicle and braking somethint didn't seem right.: I also had to replace and put new tires on that cost me 1k when I just bought a very expensive suv that I shouldent have had to pay for new brakes or tires. Fast forward to today I bring my car to key in SOMERSWORTH and I ask them if they could just do a check over because it just wasn't running right- they come out to tell me every rotar is old and completely rusted (I have pictures ) I say that is impossible they were just replaced 11/22. I call portsmouth before I explained the sittuation I asked if she could tell me what was done on my vehicle, she then reiterated to me everything I already knew; new front and back brakes and rotars. I then brought it to her attention that it was impossible as I was currently at my inspection and there is no way.. she said "well sometimes they go faulty and they can also wear quickly" I'm sorry no rotars don't go bad in 4 months and 5k miles. She then said she would talk to the service manager and have him call me, he didn't even have the decency to call me back he had Megan call me to let me know to "bring it by and they will look at it" I said that's a big no, the last time I brought something in to be looked at nothing was done and I was given the run around; after going back and forth she put me on hold to talk to another manager, in the mean time mike decided he would answer the phone and be rude for no reason and there is "nothing he can do I need to bring it to them" I said everytime I have apoken or dealt with you you have been rude, I will not be returning to you to have any work done on my car, he didn't have an answer for everything so I let him know he can call key In somersworth and speak to their service manager (who is great, helpful and a people person) he did a quick ,we did this I will send you the paperwork don't know what to tell you we won't cover for her to get the work done there even though it's key auto group. Somersworth took everything into their own hands and contacted where the part was bought to get warranties etc and took care of replacing everything for me and the details so neither of us had to deal with Mike again. I'm very thankful Someone took me serious. At the end of the day this is what matters. I will never return to Chrysler in portsmouth and i from now on will be a customer at key in somersworth, solely based on how I was treated. Also. They don't fill your tank and only will if it's a "new vehicle" I guess spending over 30k on a car doesn't even warrant a half a tank of gas.. read more

Buyer beware! These people will lie straight to your face about giving you book value for your trade! Shame on me for not reading my contract more closely. I had no intention of giving these people a bad review. I was willing to accept that I was foolish in taking a salesmen at his word, until today when I received a phone call from the GM calling me a liar, saying his salesman would never have offered me book value for my truck(which is a lie, and my wife also heard the salesman make this offer), and further attempting to belittle and condescend to me as though I couldn't understand the numbers. I understood the numbers, I was just an idiot and didn't scour my lease to ensure that what had been agreed upon was what I was signing(TOTALLY MY FAULT!). They gave me 5 free oil changes with my truck purchase-I have not, and will not use these. If the "face" of the company(sales and GM) are that shady, how can I trust their service department? If you're in the market for a Dodge, I would recommend Foss Motors in Exeter. I haven't dealt with their sales staff, but Sean Hogan in service helped me with a very difficult service issue and went SO far above and beyond(making phone calls for me while out of work for a family emergency) to make sure my issue was resolved. A company that puts a man with that kind of dedication to customer service must hire sales staff with similar character and integrity. By the way, I LOVE my truck. The new Dodge Ram 1500 is excellent on gas(I average over 19mpg in my 5.7 hemi) with outstanding power and torque. Good luck with whatever you buy! read more

Very disgraceful the way this dealership tried to take advantage of myself and my family with price gouging on a new vehicle. I had serious mechanical issues with a 2017 Pacifica with only 24,000 miles on it. The sales manager made absolutely no effort to keep my loyalty after having spent over $110k in 3 different vehicles, the course of over 4 years at that place. Instead of helping me trade in the defective vehicle after it had 7 total repair attempts and then spent a solid month in their service department, they just tried to rip me off to make their money - that's all they obviously care about, no customer retention, not doing the right thing, not loyalty, MONEY. Well, I went to Kelly Chrysler in MA. They understood my frustration and really pulled all the stops out to get me the vehicle I wanted and at the price I wanted. Shame on you Port City. The general manager John is rude and disrespectful. They knowingly sold a vehicle with A PROBLEM. When the vehicle was stranded the day after purchase, we had to pay out of pocket to get it to the service center. I lost a day from work dealing with these people. Dishonesty is the policy at Port City Chrysler Dodge. I brought my car in for a safety inspection. Service said a front strut was leaking and needed replacement. Smelling a scam, I said no thanks. Went home to check the struts myself and did not find evidence of a leak. Took my car to another shop and passed inspection as expected. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I purchased a 2010 Dodge Journey from Port City Dodge 2 1/2 years ago. We have had relentless and endless issues with this vehicle from the moment we drove it off the lot and have NEVER had any of the issues rectified. The car misfires, sputters, stalls....the interior panel - including lights, ac, heat, radio turn on and off sporadically with no warning. The car doors lock spontaneously while we are driving....we have brought the vehicle in and out of Port City Dodge for repairs at least a half dozen times in the course of two and a half years and the issues have NEVER been remedied. This will be the first and last time we work with Port City Dodge and the LAST time we purchase a Dodge vehicle ever. read more

I specifically told them NOT to run an application with anyone other than North East Credit Union. The dealership took it upon themselves to run a credit report through 3 other banks disregarding my request with out my knowledge. I've called and spoken with the dealer the explanation they gave me is there were trying to save me money and that there is nothing they can do Your Desired Resolution: A suitable resolution to this would be to have the dealership request with the credit bureau the inquiries from: Bank of America, Wells Fargo and First Financial be removed from my credit file. This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response. After deciding not to buy a vehicle within 24 hours of putting a deposit down because of poor yelp ratings and a better deal elsewhere I called this dealership to cancel the sale, I was told they would be keeping my $1000 deposit because they put in over 20 hours trying to sell this vehicle. I don't know about anyone else but I have a hard time in a car dealership for an hour never mind 20 hours. This dealership is extremely shady. Port City Chrysler Dodge sold us a "lemon" of a car! My fiance's car broke down unexpectedly, so we went to the place I got my car two years ago. We found exactly the type of car he wanted and were told it was "ready to go" with a new inspection sticker and a fresh oil change. We bought the car together. The next day the check engine light came on. A trip to the mechanic showed the following from a simple inspection: -o2 sensor, the code which was pulled is "p2272 bank 2 stuck lean" (needs to be replaced) -The battery failed the load test (nearly dead and needs to be replaced) -Coolant tubes to oil filter will need replacement soon, coolant system lost pressure -Front rotors show old rust pits/rust (need to be replaced soon) -Rear rotors look rusty -Brake pads don't appear to have any grease on them or the slides -Serpentine belt is cracked (this is a "gray area" inspection fail, depending on the mechanic, and needs to be replaced) -Power steering fluid is low and brown (and possibly leaking) -T case fluid is low and dark -Rear dif fluid is dark -Transmission fluid is brown/smells (needs a flush or transmission may be ruined) -Flex pipe is coming apart, black trail from exhaust showing (possible exhaust leak, which is an inspection fail item) -Oil filter needs to be replaced soon (apparently that wasn't done with the oil change) In addition to these the left front brakes are wearing unevenly which means the calipers may be going. The mechanic estimated it would cost us $1,500 to $2,000 to do the repairs to the vehicle, and we just bought it! None of these problems were disclosed to us before the sale. My has spoken with the dealer, Doug Newton, and the service department several times since the sale. The Sales Manager, John Thompson was extremely rude and told Jay they would only fix the o2 censor and "top off the fluids". The only option he would give us is to either pay them $1,000 to fix everything else or trade the car in for a more expensive car! When my fiance repeatedly asked why these problems were not disclosed to him the Sales Manager would not answer the question. We have sent an email to the owner of the dealership, Frank Bryant, and failing any remedy we will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and looking at small claims as an option. This is completely unacceptable and we don't want the vehicle anymore and want nothing more to do with this horrid dealership! read more

I brought my vehicle in for service. I was "quoted" via the phone an estimate of 300-350 dollars for the service I wanted. It was a tad high but I was assured by a friend that the "tech" doing the work was top notch and I would be happy that he had serviced my vehicle. Several hours later I recieved a phone call, saying the service was proving more difficult than expected and I may see a minor price increase. Immediately I thought to myself "oh oh" as I realized the work order I had signed didn't have a number or price on it. Just the verbal estimate.... As I mulled that nugget over, I heard the tech say that he had "bent" one of the components he was working on as it was "difficult to work with"... Now, I am being told that the bill has reached nearly 600.00, the car is NOT completed yet and "hopefully it will be done in the AM tomorrow.. RUN, do not walk .... RUN away from these clowns.. I trusted a friend, and he's as upset as I am, but none of that will save me or my wallet from these Crooks.. Sadly, I think I have no recourse but to pay the bill, and take my lumps. read more

Before buying a used Jeep, we were told that the brakes would be fixed. On two separate occasions, before we drove away, Port City pointedly told us that he brakes had been fixed. It cost us almost $800 to fix multiple brake problems. As a direct result of Port City's deception/lying, we filed a formal complaint with the NH Attorney General's Office. read more

Bought a Jeep, and 1 week later called to have it services because I noticed a broken part and the breaks screamed in reverse (never took it in reverse on the 5 minute test drive...mistake). They fixed the broken piece and gave me the run around about why they won't do anything for my breaks. "We gave you a deal on the car" ($500 off is not a deal), "It's normal for New England", "It passed inspection", so what?! I'm embarrassed to reverse because you can hear is from a mile away. So I just bought a car from these guys, these guys are bunch of liars. When we were talking about the car, they told us that the car had manufacturer warranty till end off 2019 or till 100.000 miles whichever comes first and we obviously believed them. Only 3 weeks later we found about that the manufacturer warranty was expired a couple thousand miles ago and we were lied to our face. When we told this to John Thompson who claims to be the manager of Port City Chrysler Dodge, his exact word was we can not do anything about this. Because the way they word it on the contract was good enough to cover their back. John Thompson is a horrible manager he absolutely have zero people skills to be a manager place like that. 1 star is way too much for this place and it is ruining brand name like Chrysler and Dodge. I will submit a complain and fight my rights in court but I wanted to let as many people as possible to know that these people are terrible in salesman. If it seems to go to be true then I can promise you it is with these guys. They reached out to me wanting to sell me a truck promising that no one could touch there prices, even gave me a price over email knowing I had a trade in. So I drove a little over 2 hours one way to buy this truck. That was until I got there and the price had gone up $80 a month even though they have me a price on paper again knowing I had a trade in and knowing the details about my trade in before hand. They kept me there almost two more hours when finally I tried to leave and asked for my keys, which they have me a hard time getting back until backthey said the keys have been in the truck the whole time you could leave when eve you wanted. So then the gm john thompson emails me wanting to know what happened and i told him, I also told him I wanted the owners info. The following day I called and asked for john and asked if he got my email. He said yes I then ask if he was going to do anything with it and he said no. I tried to explain what happened and he starts to get rude and unprofessional stating that me and my girlfriend came in with a sense of entitlement and that we were a waste of time and he was done wasting his with me go pound sand. His words not mine. I continued to ask for the owners info which he continued to refuse to give me or let me talk to the owner on other occasions I tried to call. We're new to the southern Maine area and received a recall notice for a Cruise Control issue for our 2014 Chrysler 300. The card had Port City Chrysler as the place to go for the recall. We hadn't had any problems with Cruise Control but it sounded like a safety issue, so we brought it in. There was another unrelated recall on this car, so they took care of that too. Two days later, trying to use the cruise control for the first time since the recall, it didn't work. I called, fully expecting the service manager to tell us to bring it in. She advised me that I COULD bring it in and there most likely would be a diagnostic charge as they didn't do anything that would cause the cruise control not to work. I asked if she really thought it was a coincidence that after a cruise control recall that the cruise control now doesn't work at all. What's the chance? This should have been handled very differently. We have never had a problem with any Chrysler dealer. We bought from Quirk Chrysler in Braintree MA and had the car serviced at Kelly Chrysler in Lynnfield MA, without any issues. read more
